Bullying is a serious problem among students at Labuan Matriculation College. A survey of 15 students found that 13% think bullying is getting worse, while 40% do not and 47% are unsure. Most students agree that bullying is a crime (93%) and often involves males bullying others (80%). The main reasons for bullying included seeking attention (58%) and influence from peers (26%), and many students feel unsafe at school due to bullying (47%). Most blame themselves for bullying problems (55%), and think the best solution is to report bullies to teachers (60%). Cooperation across the entire college community is seen as the most effective way to reduce bullying (87%).
