But what if the clinical guideline document could not only be consumable by practicians but by computers systems as well? The same document, offering clear interpretation and course of actions to both care providers and the computer systems supporting them.
This is the vision being pursued by a new community of practice called BPM+ Health Community. The group has already produced a first version of a “Field Guide” aimed at organizations producing, consuming and deploying such “Sharable Clinical Guide Lines.” Early community contributing organizations include the Veteran Health Affaires, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), Intermountain, Mayo, and many others. A Pregnancy Influenza guide line example and its automated version implementing the CDS Hook and FHIR standards will be demonstrated based on Trisotech software. later it will be unavoidable due to current trends. In the near future, nearly all decision-makers of IT
strategies will be forced to consider adopting SaaS as an IT solution for the convenience benefits
associated with technology or market competition. At that time they will have to know how to evaluate
impacts and decide. What are the real needs in the Portuguese market? What fears and what is being done
to mitigate them? What are the implications of the adoption of SaaS? Where should we focus attention on
SaaS offerings in order to create greater value? These are questions we must answer to actually be able to
assess and decide. Often, decision-makers of business strategies consider only the attractive incentives of
using SaaS ignoring the impacts associated with new technologies. The need for tools and processes to
assess these impacts before adopting a SaaS solution is crucial to ensure the sustainability of the
information system, reduce uncertainty and facilitate decision making. This article presents a framework
for evaluating impacts of SaaS called SIE (SaaS Impact Evaluation) which in addition to guidance for the
present research, aims to provide guidelines for the collection, data analysis, impact assessment and
decision making about including SaaS on the organizations strategic plans.

This whitepaper considers the alignment of ITSM within a TOGAF aligned enterprise.
A key driver for having such an alignment is to remove the business execution silos that come to exist in an enterprise when implementing projects that fall under either ITIL 3 or TOGAF 9. At a high level, we propose to remove such silos by creating a mapping between the two frameworks as well as between ITSM and TOGAF 9. This should create a standard set of artifacts or standard interfaces between those artifacts so that an enterprise may have a common platform for both service management and enterprise architectures. Such commonality is best implemented at the initial requirements establishment phase of an initiative and so the necessary information sharing and processes should be in place at the outset.
Our recommendation is for this to happen within the wider TOGAF 9 context where ITIL 3 can be considered as an integral extension of enterprise architecture. This is achievable because there is a lot of synergy between ITSM’s ITIL 3 and the TOGAF 9 framework, especially since TOGAF 9 has shifted to a more service-orientated approach to Enterprise Architecture.
