This document provides a summary of several topics from a superintendent's report: - Kindergarten programs in the district offer either half-day or 3/4-day schedules, with most students meeting or exceeding reading and math benchmarks. A parent survey showed majority support for full-day kindergarten. - Enrollment projections show kindergarten classes increasing by approximately 40% each year through 2017 based on recent birth rates. Registration packets have already been requested for the coming year's class. - The transition to a new elementary school has gone smoothly although some after-school programs are still being adjusted. Preparations are underway for upcoming school events. - The superintendent describes issues with the

13. Optimum.net Email Issue
Without getting too technical …
• Optimum hires an outside company, Sorbs, to filter its
spam.
• Optimum was not very concerned -- Matt researched
• Naugatuck Public Schools got their public IP address
blacklisted by a Sorbs spam database.
• We were on the same network subnet as Naugatuck
through CEN
• MATT got Naugatuck off… that, got us off! Took lots of
research and many days of work.
