• 1)Objectives 6) Why should we use sap?

• 5)What is Sap?
3. OBJECTIVES
• It helps to prevent water loss in the soil.
• Increases the water retaining capacity.
• In cold climatic regions it helps to stop the freezing of water around the roots.
• We can use it for waste water treatment to absorb all the liquid excluding solid.
4. INTRODUCTION
• Water is an essential and key component of this planet and all life that exists on it.
• When a region notes at deficiency water supply either we depend on surface or underground water for an
extended period of time due to climatic conditions.
• When a region receives constant below average rainfall for a very long time droughts are said to occur.
• With increase in water scarcity it would be beneficial to look for possible avenues to mitigate consumption of
water through a combination of good management practices and efficient technologies.
5. ABSTRACT
• Droughts are the biggest concern and todays ever growing world due to various environmental
factors such as
i)Global warming
ii)Green House Effects.
An Alternative method for water management is by altering the water holding capacity of the soils.
6. WHAT IS SAP?
• Super Absorbant Polymer (SAP) absorbs water and a release to the cultivation as
far as the soil is de-watered and increased plant performances.
• Super Absorbent Polymer(SAP) is a natural non toxic biodegradable material
• It can absorb water more than 100 times of its weight.
• It is capable to maintain the moisture of the soil and can release 95% of absorbed
water in the soil.
7. WHY SHOULD WE USE SAP?
• 1.The polyacrylate absorbent is non toxic and eco friendly material.
• 2.Its easy to use while cultivation of crops.
• 3.Increases water holding capacity,water use efficiency.
• 4.Stop soil erosion and Increases plant performance , especially in droughts
conditions.
• 5.sap enables storage of water for a month.
• 6.Superabsorbent Polymers (SAP) added into high performance concrete prevents
or reduces self-desiccation (or autogenous shrinkage) of concrete.
9. • Superabsorbent polymers are now commonly made from the polymerization of
acrylic acid blended with sodium hydroxide .
• It is done in the presence of an initiator to form a poly-acrylic acid sodium salt
• It is sometimes referred to as sodium polyacrylate.
• This polymer is the most common type of SAP made in the world today.
10. CONCLUSION
• Sap has an absorption capacity of absorbing 320gms of water per 1gm of SAP.
• So if we start using in solid waste management we can reduce waste
• It should be made available for all plants while
selling in the stores ,e-commerces.
