Automatic License Plate Recognition systems aim to provide a solution for detecting, localizing, and recognizing license plate characters from vehicles appearing in video frames. However, deploying such systems in the real world requires real-time performance in low-resource environments. In our paper, we propose a two-stage detection pipeline paired with Vision API that provides real-time inference speed along with consistently accurate detection and recognition performance. We used a haar-cascade classifier as a filter on top of our backbone MobileNet SSDv2 detection model. This reduces inference time by only focusing on high confidence detections and using them for recognition. We also impose a temporal frame separation strategy to distinguish between multiple vehicle license plates in the same clip. Furthermore, there are no publicly available Bangla license plate datasets, for which we created an image dataset and a video dataset containing license plates in the wild. We trained our models on the image dataset and achieved an AP (0.5) score of 86% and tested our pipeline on the video dataset and observed reasonable detection and recognition performance (82.7% detection rate, and 60.8% OCR F1 score) with real-time processing speed (27.2 frames per second).

Purpose: To predict the histopathologic subtypes with poor surgery prognosis in early stage lung adenocarcinomas using CT and PET radiomics.
Methods: We retrospectively enrolled 53 patients with stage I lung adenocarcinoma who underwent both diagnostic CT and 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) PET/CT before complete surgical resection of the tumors. Tumor segmentation was manually contoured by a physician on both the diagnostic CT and the attenuation CT of PET/CT.A total of 170 radiomics features were extracted on both PET and CT images to design predictive models for two histopathologic endpoints: (1) tumors with solid or micropapillary predominant subtype (aggressiveness), and (2) tumors with micropapillary component more than 5% (MIP5). We used least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) as a model building method coupled with a class separability feature selection (CSFS) method. For an unbiased model estimate, a 10-fold cross validation approach was used. The area under the curve (AUC) and prediction accuracy were employed to evaluate the performance of the model. P-values were computed using Wilcoxon rank-sum test.
Results: Of the 53 patients, 9 and 15 had tumors with aggressiveness and MIP5, respectively. For both endpoints, LASSO models with two PET radiomics features achieved the best performance. For aggressiveness, the LASSO model with PET Cluster Shade and PET 2D Variance resulted in 77.6±2.3% accuracy and 0.71±0.02 AUC (P = 0.011). For MIP5, the LASSO model with PET Eccentricity and PET Cluster Shade resulted in 69.6±3.1% accuracy and 0.68±0.04 AUC (P=0.014). The PET Cluster Shade was commonly selected in both models. Cluster shade is a texture feature that measures the skewness of the co-occurrence matrix. Higher PET cluster shade predicted that the tumor was more aggressive and more likely MIP5.
Conclusion: We showed that PET/CT radiomics features can predict tumor aggressiveness.

Commonly used attempts to increase magnification for pattern recognition in measurement mode could in turn detect higher deviation from predefined patterns and thus initiate shift in placement of measurement gate. The purpose of this paper is to discuss how to reduce measurement gate (MG) placement variation impact and filter acquired data using edge correlation approach. The essence of listed above approach is to create set of width correlation function represents particular feature under test and compare it to “golden” one as a mean of detection of uncorrelated scans, which in turn should be excluded from overall computation of matching results. We describe general approach for algorithm stepping and various techniques for judgment of measurement comparison validity. Presented approach also has particular interest in determination of specified tool performance for predefined pattern recognition feature as well as for pattern recognition algorithm robustness study - direct interest for manufacturer. The Quality Control Program (QCP) provides laboratories with statistical reports and tools to improve quality and compare performance to peer groups. It collects data from 800 labs worldwide. The QCP includes 8 statistical comparison reports that provide indicators of precision, accuracy, and uncertainty to help laboratories evaluate their results over time, identify errors, and improve performance relative to international standards. Primary users can enroll laboratories and instruments and enter quality control data either manually or via automatic daily uploads from certain instruments. Secondary users can be added to manage specific instruments.

Significant challenges for various Critical Dimension (CD) measurement matching procedures are reaching a comparable complexity as result of negative effects of roughness on the features. Due to the constant trend of integrated circuit in features reduction, impact of roughness start to be more destructive for various sets of measurement algorithms. Commonly used attempts to increase magnification for pattern recognition in measurement mode could in turn detect higher deviation from predefined patterns and thus initiate shift in placement of measurement gate. The purpose of this paper is to discuss how to reduce measurement gate (MG) placement variation impact and filter acquired data using edge correlation approach. The essence of listed above approach is to create set of width correlation function represents particular feature under test and compare it to “golden” one as a mean of detection of uncorrelated scans, which in turn should be excluded from overall computation of matching results. We describe general approach for algorithm stepping and various techniques for judgment of measurement comparison validity. Presented approach also has particular interest in determination of specified tool performance for predefined pattern recognition feature as well as for pattern recognition algorithm robustness study - direct interest for manufacturer. Precise matching estimation as part of Round Robin (RR) routines creating possibility to work with restricted amount of data and perform quick reliable qualification procedures. This paper concentrated on practical approach and used both simulation and actual data measurements data before and after proposed optimization taken by various generation tools by Hitachi (S-8840, S-9300, S-9380) in production environment
