1. The document describes the steps taken to edit a video opening sequence from the movie "Submarine" using the video editing program Wondershare. This included removing the original audio, finding replacement music under Creative Commons licenses from SoundCloud and Jamendo, importing the audio files, adjusting the timeline and fades, and exporting the edited video to YouTube.

1. I first opened this video editing program called
‘Wondershare’.
After this, I click on ‘Import’ placed on
the top left corner to upload the video’.

I want to remove the original sound in the video so I can put my
own sound to it. In order to do this, I right click on the video
presented on the timeline and click on ‘Audio Detach’.
The video
+ audio are
separated.

I click on the audio and press delete on the keyboard.

To find a copyright and legal song I could use for the
opening, I go on to CreativeCommons.org. (Video on top of
page/ blog post showing how to use this website.)

I went on SoundCloud and typed in film4 in the search box. Only
one audio came up but when I listened to this I found it very
effective for the opening of Submarine when it presents the logo
of the institution ‘Film4’ in the beginning. I then clicked on
download and saved it onto my hard drive.

I then imported the sound I downloaded into Wondershare
and dragged it onto the timeline in the music section.
Because I want the music play for the Film4 part (the
beginning shot), I only needed 10 seconds of the music. So I
hovered on the end of the time and clicked on it till I saw an
‘I’ cursor and reduced/shortened the length of the music
until it appeared 10 seconds long on the timeline.

4. In order for the sound to appear it has not been cut
off, I double click on the edited music and change
both the ‘fade in’ and ‘fade out’ settings to 5.00s.

I went back to the ‘CreativeCommons’ website to look for
another song I could use, this time for the rest of the opening.
Instead of going to SoundCloud, I went to Jamendo. When I
clicked on the search box, another box appeared with different
type of genre. The genre I chose was Folk.

I scroll down to see the songs appeared and after listening to a
few, I eventually find one that I think is suitable for the opening
and download it.

5. I go back to Wondershare, import the music and drag it down the
timeline.

I move the song to 22 seconds on the
timeline as that is a couple of seconds
away from the first scene (the
bedroom). The effect of this is to
make the music nicely fade in at
5.00s. I end the song to the end of the
opening where I again fade it out of
5.00s.

6. Now that I am happy with my
video, I export it by clicking on
the ‘Export’ button
A box then appears, and I click on
the YouTube button on the
navigation bar as I want to
convert it to a YouTube video.

After filling in the informations in
the text box, e.g title of the
video. I export it into my youtube
account.
