Afro-Asian literature refers to the oral traditions and written works produced by African and Asian cultures from ancient to modern times. The course aims to develop students' communicative skills through understanding Afro-Asian literature and other text types to appreciate Philippine culture and others. Students will demonstrate their learning by composing and delivering an informative speech on a topic of their choice using proper structures, cohesive devices, and speech elements. The document outlines the expected performance tasks for five units covering African literature, expository texts, informative speeches, vocabulary, and poetry.
2. WHAT IS AN AFRO-ASIAN LITERATURE?
refers to the literary output of the various countries
and cultures in Africa and Asia. This includes their oral
traditions and from the first to the contemporary written
and/or published prose and poetry.

3. COURSE DESCRIPTION
The learner demonstrates communicative competence
through his/her understanding of Afro-Asian Literature and
other texts types for a deeper appreciation of Philippine
Culture and those of other countries.

4. PERFORMANCE STANDARD
The learner transfers learning by composing and delivering
an informative speech based on a specific topic of interest
keeping in mind the proper and effective use of parallel
structures and cohesive devices and appropriate prosodic
features, stance, and behavior.
