Course Description
It is designed to study the literary form or genres as exemplified from different literary periods and various regions. The emphasis is
on studying the Philippine literature under the principles of the Philippine Literary History, Culture, and National Consciousness of
the Filipino people.

1. To make the students appreciate the breadth and depth of Philippine Literature.
2. To introduce the students to different literary genres.
3. To discuss the different literature in the various time, periods and` historical foundations.

At the end of this course, the students should be able to:
1. Have a general overview of the scope of literature and literary forms based on Philippine Historical Period
2. Acquaint themselves of the traditional and contemporary aspects of literature through the study of figures of speech and elements
of literary forms.
3. Highlight the historical influences that manifested on Philippines literary productions
4. Identify the classification of regions and its background and significant contributions in enriching the national literature
5. Reflect on the literary works and contributions and apply inspiring themes in everyday life
6. Present a cultural production depicting some significant literary works of the country
