Musician Suicide
Musician Suicide
Ross A. Hudson
Bryant University
Suicide is an ongoing issue is society today. Every day, individuals take their own lives when the
struggles of life become too much as well as a number of other reasons. But while to the general
public suicide is a big enough problem, it seems to be only a bigger problem when it comes to
musicians and other celebrities. one of the most famous cases happened 20 years ago when lead
singer of Nirvana Kurt Cobain took his own life, leaving many fans and psychologists wondering
why. It s a phenomenon that has many questioning if there is a positive correlation between being a
musicians and being prone to committing suicide as well as the reasons why. In Sheila M. Eldred s

It makes sense, those suffering from major depression often have prolonged periods of sadness,
feelings of worthlessness and hopelessness, as well as social withdrawal and trouble creating
ideas. While all these symptoms point to someone who is definitely at risk of suicide, one may
wonder why they would show up in a well off and popular musicians when modern psychology
points to the poor as being the most susceptible to depression. Contrary to popular belief, while
some musicians hit it big and make millions off their music, the vast majority of them don t. they
are left to struggle through life trying to find gigs to make enough money to pay the rent. without
any one listening or caring about their music, these musicians can start feeling worthless and start
losing hope. when this depression becomes so severe they may start having trouble making new
music because of the cognitive sluggishness depression brings about creating a vicious cycle of
depression that some may see only one outcome to.
While major depression might explain most of the musician suicides, but what about the ones that
occur with a successful musician. Kurt Cobain, the main example from Eldred s article, was fairly
a successful and popular musician with his band Nirvana at the time of his death. Dr. Moutiers

What Does Dover Symbolize In The Masque Of The Red Death
When discussing loss knowing it comes in many forms can create an ubiquitous contemplation
about the derivative of the characters loss. In many Dark Romantic and Gothic pieces loss can
derive from a loved one, psychological torment, or even from an egotistical attribute. These
attributes may seem customary to society, however these issues can take a great toll on a character.
For example, in Annabel Lee by Edgar Allan Poe, he lost his wife to a lung disease which
ultimately caused the narrator to obsess in a form of grief over Annabel Lee. Moreover, in the
Demon Lover by Elizabeth Bowen the protagonist and the antagonist essentially are the same
person. Mrs. Dover while revisiting an old house she once lived in had created an entire situation
that in her mind and to the reader seem real, once the reader continues the realization that Mrs.
Dover created a situation all of her own due to psychological issues. Lastly, in The Masque of...

Prince Prospero proves to be extremely egotistical, his subjects have little to no value to him, as
well as his self importance caused him to act before thinking. This example shows his egotistical
tendencies, the external world can take care of itself (Poe 2). This happened when the red death had
spread through his subjects, his ideology is to save himself along with the rich subjects that
lived with him. Instead of trying to protect the majority of his subjects along with himself, he
allowed it to become a mass exodus of disease through his kingdom. As well as him discovering,
his vesture was dabble in blood (Poe 7). This was when Prospero discovered his valuable vesture
had blood on it. Even though he tried he couldn t protect himself from the inevitable. He was later

There s no way to sneak out the kongsi front door carrying a sword, even with a skeleton crew of
security guards on duty. I could try disguising it, but what could I use that wouldn t look like
something wrapped around a sword? I don t have time for such nonsense. The easiest option is
going out the emergency exit on the ground floor. There s no guard, but there is an alarm, which
would be a problem if I didn t know the code. I step out to a narrow, damp walkway that seldom
sees the light of day. I look up and see a security camera pointed right at me. Damn. My emotions

Both are wearing tuxedoes and looking impossibly handsome and horrible. Roy immediately
steps in front of the door, blocking any chance of exit. I tug away from Mike and clutch the
sword to my chest even though it s the instrument of my mother s death. Does her blood still
stain the blade? My pulse is pounding in my ears and I m hating them both. Why aren t you at
the wedding? Wedding s over, says Mike. The happy couple are taking photos inside the church.
And by happy couple, I mean George and Mother. That means I still have a chance. I glance over

is to use the Yang Pearl, but how do I do that without hurting them and me? To make time, I ask,
How did you know to find me? A guard paged me and told me he saw you leave the kongsi by the

Told to us at a young age, we are supposed to love ourselves and love our bodies. Although in
today s times, that is not the case for everyone. Constantly people are changing their bodies.
Whether because society tell us to be thinner, curvier, or look a certain way, or because we

The medicine may be inappropriate for a woman with primary ovarian failure or who have blocked
fallopian tubes. As earlier mentioned, Clomiphene Citrate is an example of ovulation drug which
may be used.
Femara for fertility VS Clomid
Clomid is a popular drug in fertility clinics and works by blocking the estrogen receptors. So, the
pituitary gland releases more FSH leading to ovulation stimulation. It has been in existence for
many years, whereas Femara is a relatively new drug in this field. Clomid is taken for five days as

Femara has a short lifespan in your body; it completely clears out of the system within a few days.
On the other hand, Clomid may stay in the body for some time which isn t good; it may take
almost six weeks. Therefore, it can result to unfavorable effects on a woman, for example on the
cervical mucus and the uterine lining. Remember cervical mucus is essential to nourish and protect
the sperm as it travels through the fallopian tube to meet the egg for fertilization. Also, after

The Use Of Cell Phone Use
It is known that the use of cell phones, specifically handheld use such as texting, while driving
decreases driver awareness and the overall safety of roads. In response to this knowledge, some
states have passed laws that have outlawed the usage of handheld devices, and while there should
be laws that definitively outlaw handheld usage, is there enough empirical evidence to outlaw
hands free usage of cell phones? In other words, does handsfree usage of cell phones, via bluetooth,
speakerphone, etc., distract drivers enough to the point where states should legally ban the total
use cell phones while driving. The following essay will introduce arguments for both sides of
this topic, one for hands free cell phone usage and the other against cell phones usage entirely.
Hands free cell phone usage should not be used while driving based on evidence that shows that
the use a cell phone while driving leads to more driving mistakes and overall lack of awareness
(Sanbonmatsu et al., 2015). Drivers that use cell phones make more serious and minor errors, but
cannot recall making these errors due to a lack of awareness. These drivers are more unaware of
their inconsistent speed, placement in lanes and near accidents than those that are not using a cell
phone. Additionally, these drivers are less likely to self regulate their driving efficiently like
drivers not using cell phones because of this lack of awareness. This reduction in self regulation
moreover leads to an increase in both minor and major errors (Sanbonmatsu et al. 2015). To
determine this, Sanbonmatsu et al. (2015) gathered participants and split them into either a control
/no cell phone group and an experimental/cell phone group. These participants were then tested in a
driving simulator with the control group simply running through the simulator while the cell phone
group called a friend or family member and had a conversation on a hands free device. The results
of this experiment indicated that even though the control group did still make errors, they had more
awareness of those errors than the experimental group, and made less serious errors than the
experimental group. Other evidence against hands free cell phone use while driving is simply that

What Is The Impact Of Advertising On American Society
The beginning of the twentieth century signaled a major transformation in the United States that
brought about a new economy based on consumption and mass production. The onset of new
technologies that were developed towards the end of the nineteenth century and the beginning of
the twentieth century had affected the entire U.S. populace, which ultimately led to a society
marked by a whole new lifestyle centered around technology, music, and entertainment. These new
technologies not only affected every facet of American life, but they had also helped to
revolutionize the American advertising industry spurred by the creation of new mediums between
the consumer society and the marketers. Through the creation of the radio, and later the television,
the advertising agencies were able to play a very influential role in the mediation of commodities to

Throughout history in the United States, we have had a hard time accepting the concept of
homosexuality and skewing from the idea that we are all gender binary. The police began to
enforce what is known as the sodomy law to discriminate against those who do not comply with
the norm of gender binary. The sodomy law can be defined as oral/anal sex between two partners
(could be two women, two men, or a man and a woman). It has been present within our society for
two centuries and has historically been a crime that went unenforced, for the most part, if
committed by two consenting adults in private. Two specific cases became well known for

to the question of why the State may be permitted to apply a generally applicable law to certain

Difference between Greek and Modern Theatres
Theatre today as in ancient Greek times is a popular form of entertainment. Today s theatres share
many similarities with the Greek predecessors however they are also very different. There are in
fact many differences for example; layout, special effects, seating arrangement, the importance of
drama and religion, setting, location and architectural features.
In ancient Greece festivals were mainly held at the Great Dionysia. This was the oldest theatre in
Greece and many plays were performed here for example the first performance of Antigone. The

Today special effects in modern theatres are taken for granted by the audiences. Flashing lights,
smoke, electronic sound and even microphones for actors were all not available to the ancient
Greeks. In ancient times there special effects included; cranes for lifting actors into the air and
ekkyklema (a trolley used to roll on stage via the central doors to carry away dead bodies. Many
of these effects are not used to today as modern audiences want the play to be as realistic as
possible and many of these effects would not achieve this. But today they still use wires in order to
make actors appear to be flying; this is similar to the machine but more advanced to do modern
technologies.
At the back of the ancient Greek theatre stood the skene . The word skene means stage building.
The skene was a wooden building where the actors could change and this building could also be
used for as a house or temple or any other part of scenery (Gill). At the front of the
skene there was a large double door for the actors to make their entrance. Actors could also enter
through the parados if they were acting as characters from foreign lands or who had just arrived
(University Press Inc). There were three areas where the actors could act; the platform in front of
the stage building, the orchestra and the roof of the stage building. The roof of the stage building

A knee fracture is a break in a bone of the knee. The break may be in the kneecap (patella), the
lower part of the thighbone (femur), or in the upper part of the shinbone (tibia).
There are several kinds of fractures. They include:
Greenstick. In this type of fracture, the bone cracks on one side.
Bend. In this type of fracture, the bone is bent and not actually broken.
Torus. In this type of fracture, the bone is twisted or buckled but not broken.
Complete. In this type of fracture, the bone is completely broken.
CAUSES
Knee fractures often result from falls. They can happen because of the impact of the fall or from a
violent contraction of the leg muscles before you hit the ground. Knee fractures can also result
from a car accident or collision with a hard surface.
RISK FACTORS
Your child may be more likely to have a knee fracture if he or she participates in high energy sports.
SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS
Symptoms of a knee fracture include:
Pain.
Swelling.
Bruising.
Inability to bend the knee.
Misshapen knee.
Inability to walk.
Inability to bear weight on the leg.
DIAGNOSIS
To make a diagnosis, your child s health care provider will do a physical exam. He or she may also
order:
Imaging studies such as an X ray, CT scan, MRI scan, or ultrasound.
A procedure called arthroscopy to view the inside of your knee with a small camera.
TREATMENT
Treatment for a knee fracture may involve:

Women In Christianity And Islam
Christianity and Islam both believe women are inferior to men. However, historically, women had
more rights in Islam than in Christianity. Both religions have similarities along with its differences
in how women were treated through the religion. Women had little to no rights by any means in
both religions, one a little harsher than the other. Christianityand Islamboth believe women are
inferior to men. The reason for this is that many stories in the Christian Scripture as being less
spiritual as men. For example, Women are known to be crated in both Islam and Christianity from
man and for man. By this being said, in the book Genesis, Eve was the one who was deceived by
the shake. Islam like Christianity, also saw women as inferior. Women

Although women were still inferior to men, they did have a couple more rights. For example,
during the war time, schooling, and job opportunities increased for women. They were able to
work for the army, the government, along with other jobs. However this did not last long. Even
though it did not stay to be true, we can still say that women had more rights in Islam. This
would not even be a thought in Christianity. Many roles if not all were strictly only allowed to be
filled by man. There was not even a thought in anyone s mind that a women would be able to
successfully complete a role in the work force. The women was to stay at home, keep the house

Mapping of network infrastructure to understand the network devices that applications and
hardware depend on for secure performance.
Identification of controls already in place including policies, firewalls, applications, intrusion and
detection prevention systems, virtual private networks, data loss prevention and encryption.
Running vulnerability scans to identify known vulnerabilities within an organizational system.
Application of context to scan results to determine which infrastructure vulnerabilities should be
targeted first and most aggressively.
The goal of intrusion detection is to monitor network assets, detect anomalous behavior, and
identify misuse within a network (Ashoor, Gore, 2011). An intrusion detection system (IDS) is a
device or software application that monitors network system activities for malicious activity or
policy violations and produces reports to a management station (Kashyap, Agrawal, Pandey, Keshri,
2013), additionally there are three types of IDS:
Host based IDS monitors a computer system on which it is installed in order to detect intrusion or
misuse by analyzing several types of logs files including kernel, system, server, network and
firewall logs, and compares logs with signatures for known attacks.

How Did The Serfs Affect Feudal Society
Serfs had a place in the feudal system as a low class peasant. Serfs made up the majority of the
medieval population, doing grueling work. Serfs made up most of the population, with a
whopping 90%! The population was a larger amount of serfs than knights. Serfs were also
known as farmers, meaning they gave food and crops to villagers. The crops would help sustain
them for a long time, and only a few serfs were strong enough to work in the fields and harvest
them, for most serfs caught the Black Plague. The serfs caught Black Plague from fleas in the
fields (King 4). Serfs were bound to land that the lordowned. The serfs provided their own food
and clothing from his work. Along with feeding himself, he had to give a portion to the lord... Show

The Salisbury Oath was an example of how the feudal society worked. The oath wasn t a
massive change in the feudal society, but it did have some effect on services. The feudal oath
changed slightly. In feudal law, the members of society still had the same social classes. The
oaths kept the feudal systems in tact. The oaths were helpful to members of society because they
had said that each worker had to do his job in the medieval village and they usually used a sacred
oath to God (Birney 85). Feudalism already existed in England at the time, but became stronger
and stronger under each oath made. Changes in law were to be expected, like changes in taxing,
military service and even a shift of power was made sometimes. The idea of feudalism had begun
long before members of society realized (Birney 84). The Salisbury Oath was not necessarily a
feudal oath. England practiced feudalism, so all tenants acknowledge a supreme member as
their monarch. The members strived for a strong, feudal government, so William created an oath
that was an expansion on feudalism (Birney 85). In feudal times, Oaths were the only source of
agreement. Even the relationship between the feudal lord and the vassal was based on oaths. The
Lord made an oath to protect the vassal s family if anything should happen, and the vassal made
an oath to the lord that he would fight with all the effort possible (Conference Page 2). The many,
oaths and agreements between kings and vassals was considered a reciprocal relationship. Oaths
also kept the Military in tact, causing knights and vassals to dedicate their full service to the feudal
lord. Without the oaths, the military would crumble, leading to a downfall of feudalism
(Conference Page 2). The oaths and agreements were a severe part of feudalism, causing a stronger

Throughout this article, the authors studied the concept of wearing compression tights on the thigh
during prolonged running that was attenuated with the exercise induced increase in muscle
damaged markers in the blood. The authors Sahiro Mizuno, Mari Arai, Fumihiko Todoko, Eri
Yamada and Kazushige Goto used this article to address and acknowledge earlier publications that
have been conducted on this topic. The article gave way to the discussion whose purpose was to
examine the effects of wearing a lower body compression garment with different body coverage

The broad approach to figuring out if compression garments reduced the increase in muscle
damage markers in blood due to prolonged exercise was tested using various methods. Some of the
methods that were used involved grading muscle soreness and fatigue based on a 10 cm visual
analog scale, with 0 cm indicating no pain or fatigue, and 10 cm indicating the worst pain and
fatigue. A thigh and calf circumference was conducted by tape measurements for the pre marked
sites that was distinguished before the exercise started. Then a maximal voluntary contraction
(MVC) of knee extension and plantar flexion was assessed using an isokinetic dynamometer, and
finally, blood samples were taken by using the antecubital vein to determine different components
of blood with serum and plasma samples obtained by a centrifugation. As discussed in the article, all
of these tests, combined with other components, were used to help each author in the article shed
light on the idea that compression tights can cause a difference during prolonged running (120
minutes or more) in dealing with the decrease or reduction in muscle damage markers in the blood.
The researchers in this study used different means of measurement to gather information on
different aspects of the study. One thing the researchers did was use three different locations for the

In the Death of a Salesman, all of the main characters lie for all distinctive kinds of reasons. With
this in mind, Willy Loman appears to be the first character that lies at the beginning of the scene
and persists to lie throughout the play. In reality, Willy frequently lies in exaggeration to cause
himself to appear and sound more likable and successful than he legitimately is. For an example,
Willy continually mentions that most people adore and needs him. In order to truly believe why
Willy was lying, realize that he sincerely believes, and makes up stories, that consists of people
needing to be dependent on him and treats him as a celebrity. In reality, this does not occur to Willy

Health Care Issues Of The American Indian Population
Health Care Issues in the American Indian Population Jennifer Lozada St John Fisher My dad

what the percentage of each of my ethnicities was. I have multiple, from both my parents sides
from German, Puerto Rican, Pennsylvania Dutch, Dutch, Italian, and lastly that I know of
Cherokee Indian. Always being very interested in my background I choose to understand why
American Indian became and vulnerable population to begin with. Wanted to understand why this
population had so many health care issues. Our nomadic ancestors of our modern Native
Americans as we know today made their way over the land bridge from Asia which is now called
Alaska over more than 12,000 years ago. Dividing these nomadic areas into culture areas, or
groupings of connecting people who shared similar habitats and characteristics into 10 separate
culture areas: the Arctic, the Subarctic, the Northeast, the Southeast, the Plains, the Southwest, the
Great Basin, California, the Northwest Coast and the Plateau. Focusing on the Southeast, I want to
narrow it down to Cherokee Indians because this is my background ethnicity. This being one of
the American Indians that we associate with today in our vulnerable populations and health care
issues. These nomads were known for their farming, growing staple crops to survive. They were

Comparing Mustangs And Corvettes
Chevy and Ford may have some things that look alike but they are actually very different. This
essay will talk about strength, speed, and how long the vehicle will last. It will talk about
Duramaxes, Powerstrokes, Mustangs, Corvettes, and Camaros. First, let s talk about trucks. A
six point six liter Chevy Duramax has four hundred forty five horsepower. A six point seven liter
Powerstroke has four hundred forty horsepower. Duramaxes are stronger than Powerstrokes by
five horsepower. Next, Corvettes and Mustangs. According to www.popularmechanics.com
Corvettes are faster than Mustangs. That doesn t mean Corvettes are funner. According to
popularmechanics the mustang is much funner to drive but it it is not as fast as the Corvette. It
can t take turns like a Corvette can. Corvettes take corners smoothly and don t wipe out.
Mustangs can t do the sharpest of turns or they could wipe out. If you want to just be stupid with
your car then get a Mustang. They are good for doing burnouts and doughnuts with. Corvettes are
probably safer though. Everyone should want a Corvette if they want to go fast. Ready to hear
more about trucks? The contest between the Duramax and Powerstroke is on again. It depends on

Water Consumption Report On Drinking Consumption
Water Consumption Report Student Reference (2137178F) Abstract Although a large majority
of planet Earth s surface comprises water, only a small percentage of it is in fact suitable for use.
The human population is growing rapidly and the demand for fresh water is steadily increasing.
The aim of this investigation is to measure personal water consumption over a period of three
weeks and compare the collected data with the average water consumption of individuals in
countries at both ends of the economic spectrum. The results of personal consumption show that
over a one week period, an average of 713.17 litres of water were consumed (discounting
embedded water), which breaks down to a daily average of 101.88 litres. Although this is lower
than the average daily consumption of 150 litres for an individual in the UK , measures can be
nevertheless be taken to reduce fresh water consumption, such as placing bricks inside the toilet
cistern, using the washing machine less often, and using a weaker flow setting on the shower.
Introduction Issues relating to water are increasingly becoming a major global concern. The need
for fresh water is fundamental to human life and an increasing percentage of the global
population do not have access to it. In 2011 the UN Secretary General expressed how Safe
drinking water and basic sanitation are intrinsic to human survival, well being and dignity .) .
However, with the global population on the increase, the demand for water and food

The Methodical Approach Of A Doctoral Program
As a graduate student choosing a research design on a research topic is very important to the
completion of a doctoral program. Often times as research students they struggle with the research
process in which they require additional help or assistance on a chosen topic. Many students depend
upon their instructors and the additional assistance of the school library and the dissertation center.
In choosing a subject to complete researchone of the most important factors is the methodical
approach in which will be sought in the research process. (Vankatesh, Brown, Bala, 2013).
The methodical approach implied provides assistance in examining, whether the information
researched was initiated and properly researched. When the researched information has been
proven the outcome becomes more prominent and reliable in other research subjects. This is
important because it shows the value of the research as well as its reliability and predictability.
When a researcher applies the proper methodology and research design the comparison among
fact and theory can be verified and it will also provide the researcher ethic procedures needed for
the research to be achieved (Vankatesh, Brown, Bala, 2013).
The researched information will give the strength and weaknesses of an envisioned research
design and method that will be used on the discussion of the effects of marketing on social media
websites. Justification for the method and design will also be provided. The avid need for
businesses to

The Human Right Violations at Abu Ghraib
In 1949, the Geneva Convention Relative to the Treatment of Prisoners of War was created to
prohibit immoral, cruel and degrading punishment toward prisoners during wartime. The United
States ratified this covenant and became a member of the Geneva Conventions. During Operation
Iraqi Freedom, a series of human abuses occurred from October through December of 2003 where
American military personnel have conducted acts of brutality and immoral behavior toward Iraqi

Abu Ghraib and the Root Causes of Abuse
When President Bush declared the War on Terror after the incident of September 11, 2001, he
was declaring a new kind of war on a different kind of enemy. The al Qaeda terrorist group who
were responsible for the destruction of World Trade Center is organized differently than any enemy
that the U.S. has faced before. Since the terrorists were determined to target large numbers of
American civilians, the Bush administration issued a memorandum which declared the Geneva
Conventions cannot apply to unconventional combatants such as al Qaeda, it states I accept the
legal conclusion of the Department of Justice and determine that none of the provisions of Geneva
apply to our conflict with al Qaeda in Afghanistan or elsewhere through the world because; among
other reasons al Qaeda is not a High Contracting Party to Geneva. (Bush 2002)
In 2002, the Office of Legal Counsel responded to the President s request of exploring the
question whether American officials have the right to use torture against suspected terrorists.
Assistant Attorney General Jay S. Bybee of the Office of Legal Counsel not only legalized the
use of torture for U.S. officials but also defined torture in the narrowest way. He defines torture as

which shape and define the meaning we derive from a text. The importance of the Smithsonian s

The price went down from $825 to $575 4 years after production had started. With this price drop,
Ford mostly had reached his goal. By this point, most people had a Model T, and even more

property. With this drop in its price and more people buying the car, the employees wage went

not considered work; however, it is a part of their daily activities, and withholding items causes
friction on the court, which does not allow for everyone to participate. While chaos / a fight
arose, other prisoners, the guards, and the Colonel observed, until the Colonel finally gave the
order to put a stop to it. Although bean bags were shot rather than live ammunition, apparently
the Colonel had given orders to aim at the head periodically (calling it an accident), especially
when prisoners (or animals, as the Colonel called them often) were killed. This type of leadership
is in line with Machiavelli s, pg. 4, assumed view of human nature in the prison, that human beings
are essentially evil... as the prisoners/animals were evil. Also, I compared this accidental killing of
prisoners in The Castle like the beginning of Sun Tzu. Sun Tzu killed the King s two favorite
concubines because they failed to follow orders. Just like the Colonel gave orders a second time
before commanding the marksman to shoot, Sun Tzu gave the orders a second time before he
killed the concubines. When the orders have been made clear, and are not carried out in
accordance with military law, it is a

Charles Perrault’s Cinderella
In Cinderella by Charles Perrault, the story depicts an imaginative fairytale through the hardships of
a mistreated daughter and the magic of a fairy; in essence, Cinderella demonstrates that focusing on
materialism is more important and more effective other than working up the path to majesty.
Cinderellais a character who is often mistreated by her stepmother and god sisters. Bearing
unsuitable personalities, they treat her harshly, leaving all of the chores to her. However, she
admits that her tattered clothes are not worthy of a formal event, and continues to be belittled by
her stepsisters. Portrayed with low self esteem and insecurity, she does not respond harshly to their
cruel insults. As a result, the main character relies on... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, her true beauty lies within her skin, as Perrault s interprets Cinderella as a hundred
times more handsome than her sisters . He aims to focus more on female recognition and self
fulfillment, rather than provide a base for all readers to understand fully (HuМ€hn). At an
elementary level, this may not influence children to an extent, but other stories that reproduce
this same structure of plot elements could possibly influence children in the future. For instance,
she was not the hero of the story. The Prince isn t the hero until he discovers her lost possession,
a glass slipper, and searched for the person that fits. As told by Perrault, he had done nothing but
look at her all the time, and that most certainly he was very much in love with the beautiful
owner of the glass slipper. This enforces the fact that her beauty prevails over her actual
personality but not behavior, and the appearance and mannerisms surely impressed the Prince.
The Prince stereotypes the role of women being in need of a destined lover. He is the one that
identifies Cinderella as the one in the dress, though excluding behavior, her appearance dazzles
him for two nights at the ball. Most importantly, he s not the hero of the fairytale, but readers can
interpret the fairy godmother as the savior of Cinderella s demise. The role of magic comes in part
with the acceptance of achieving the imagery of an elegant woman, impressing the Prince who
gains interest in her. The

Word Learning And Language Of The World s Different...
Words are the essential part of communication in all of the world s different languages. Most adults
understand thousands of words, and the majority of people master a vast vocabulary of words.
Word learning and language are perhaps two of the more complex developmental achievements in
human evolution, they stand out because of the conceptual and linguistic organization (Waxman,
Lidz, 2006). This complex process has been very well studied in human infants and literature about
this topic is abundant. Infants gather words and phrases from the human languageto which they are
exposed to and make important advances in areas such as conceptual and linguistic domains.
Furthermore, infants learn words with extraordinarily speed; this gathering of words is so fast
that some researchers argue that there must be specialized mechanisms that deal with word
learning (Gleitman, L. R., Cassidy, K., Nappa, R., Papafragou, A., Trueswell, J. C. 2005). These
specialized mechanisms for word learning are associated with fast mapping, which means that a
word meaning is deduced from very few exposures to that specific word. The ability of children
to fast map is regarded as proof of the astonishing efficiency of early word learning (Dollaghan, C.
A. 1987). There is certainly great knowledge about word learning in human infants; however, this
subject has not been studied extensively in animals. One of the few researches in this topic
suggests that a dog also have the ability to learn words

Wheelchair Rugby And Its Impact On Sports
This case study will to examine wheelchair rugby, and how Great Britain Wheelchair Rugby
Limited organises play, qualifications, the specialist equipment used in the sport, as well as the
development of the sport with in the UK. This is due to the author s ability to rugby and interest in
how rugby has been developed into a disability sport.
Wheelchair rugby, formally known as Murderball, was developed in Canada in 1977 by
quadriplegic athletes (International Wheelchair Rugby Federation, 2014). Quadriplegia is more
commonly known as tetraplegia, this is where all four limbs are paralysed and most commonly as
a result of a neck injury (Disabled World, 2010) Wheelchair Rugby was created as an adaptation of
wheelchair basketball, by reducing the amount of hand and arm actions to make the game
inclusive for quadriplegic athletes; this was done by removing dribbling. Athletes were
classified on their medical diagnosis, in relation to the level of their spinal injury. In 1991 this
was changed to a functional classification specific to wheelchair rugby, in order to include those
with polio, cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, multiple sclerosis and amputations. According to
Sport England (2010) 68% of wheelchair rugby participants have a spinal cord injury, compared
6% with cerebral palsy and 4% with muscular dystrophy. It s also estimated that 40,000 people
are living with a spinal cord injury in the UK (The Backup Trust, 2014). Rugby is one of 11 out of

Comparison of X-Ray and Ultrasound
X rays and Ultrasound are two of the main imaging techniques used in radiography. For the
purposes of this essay, we will look at conventional x rays and diagnostic ultrasound. Conventional
x rays are non invasive diagnostic techniques that are used to capture images of the body s organs
and bones. Diagnostic ultrasounds are high frequency sound waves to create an image of soft
issues in the body such as muscles, joints, and internal organs. As examined below, while both are
used in diagnostic radiography, they have extremely different modalities.
Wave Properties
X rays use electromagnet waves to produce images. Ultrasounds are longitudinal sound waves with
extremely high frequencies. The below table examines some of the differences ... Show more

* Radiotherapy used to treat cancer.
Ultrasound relies on high frequency sounds to image the body. As stated above, ultrasound are
produced by an ultrasound transducer. To produce ultrasound, a piezoelectric crystal has an
alternating current applied across it, this causes the crystal to vibrate at a high speed and to
produce ultrasound as it converts electrical energy to mechanical energy in sound waves. This
sound wave bounces off the object being scanned. This sound triggers the piezoelectric crystal
and has its affects reversed. By measuring the time taken to send and receive the sound the
computer can produce images. Ultrasound poses no health risks while x rays give off varying
degrees of radiation. Exposure to radiation can have long term health although the rates are very
low. There are many different usages for ultrasound. The most common is for * pregnancy scans
* examine the heart to identify abnormal structures * measure blood flow through the hearts and
major blood vessels * examine kidneys blood flow * identify kidney stones * detect prostrate
cancer at early stages Ultrasound Pregnancy * Thyroid ultrasound Scan at approx 12 wks. X Rays

Vestibular System Essay
Literature Review
* Vestibular Anatomy:
The human vestibular system is the first sensory system to develop in humans (Blayney, 1997). It is
a complex sensory organization which consists of a peripheral sensory apparatus, which lies within
the inner ear, and a central processor, which consists primarily of the vestibular nuclei and the
cerebellum. The vestibular system is integrated with the proprioceptive and visual systems to
provide sensory information used in the maintenance of balance.
The peripheral vestibular system consists of a bony labyrinth and a membranous labyrinth. This
system sits in the otic capsule in the petrous portion of the temporal bone. The bony labyrinth
consists of the cochlea, an oval cavity called the vestibule, and the semicircular canals. The
structures of the bony labyrinth are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Patients with vestibular dysfunction had a 12 fold increase in reported falls rates (Agrawal et al.,
2009). Vestibular disorders lead to decrease balance confidence significantly and increase the
likelihood of falls ( Whitney et al., 2000).
Approximately 20% of the population are affected by vestibular balance symptoms, such as vertigo
and dizziness ( Hannaford et al., 2005; Neuhauser et al., 2008).
Vestibular balance symptoms are often accompanied with psycho physiological symptoms,
especially anxiety, which may also greatly can have an impact on patient s quality of life ( Jacob et
al., 2001; Staab, 2012).
Dizziness as a complaint is common among adult people, especially in those older than 75 years of

Research Paper On Swarm Intelligence
Abstract Swarm intelligence (SI) is the collective behaviour of decentralized, self organized
systems, natural or artificial. The concept is employed in work on artificial intelligence. The
expression was introduced by Gerardo Beni and Jing Wang in 1989, in the context of cellular
robotic systems. The project proposes a swarm intelligencebased procedure to detect critical
conditions of a patient, affected by a specific disease, at an early stage in absence of clinician. The
procedure is to be integrated inside a remote health care system for patients at home, where some
physiological parameters related to a specific disease are being monitored. A significant variation in
the monitored parameters can lead the patient to a critical state, thus... Show more content on

beneficial anymore for search progress are abandoned, and new solutions are inserted instead of
them to explore new regions in the search space. The algorithm has a well balanced exploration and

Gorbachev Contribute To The Cold War
Mikhail Gorbachev has greatly contributed to the collapse of the USSR that has consequently
leaded to the end of the cold war. He came to power in 1985 as the general secretary of the Central
Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union and resigned in 1991 as the president of
the Soviet Union ending the existence of USSR. During this time, Gorbachev s actions such as the
creation of perestroika and glasnost policy, the ending of the Afghanistan war, the agreement of
reunification of Germany and finally the contribution to the Malta summit were very significant
and brought the cold warto it s end and USSR towards it s collapse.
Mikhail Gorbachev contributed to the end of the cold war by initiating perestroika in order to solve
the issues of the Soviet Union that were passed on to him from the previous leader such as the
problematic relations between USSR and United States. It was also initiated to improve the
economy as well as the life standards of soviet citizens by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The agreement stated the fact that USSR had nine month to completely remove the military troops
from the land of Afghanistan and that USA together with Pakistan would stop to support the
opposition movement. The reason why the agreement was signed is because the United Nations
urged USSR to end the war, but most importantly, USSR was in a bad economic position when
the United States imposed a set of economic sanctions on the Soviet Union. As USSR could not
bear it, the agreement was signed and sanctions were withdrawn. Nevertheless, this action
produced by Gorbachev has shown the great sign of weakness of the Soviet Union to the United
States, symbolizing the loss in one of the major battles of the cold war and the defeat in the cold
war that was eventually brought it to it s

Summary Of Night By Primo Levi
Night, offers a similar discussion as Survival in Auschwitz but is told in a different style than how
Primo Levi told his accounts of Auschwitz. The main difference is that Elie Wiesel was captured
with this family while Primo Levi was captured on his own without family or friends present with
him. Wiesel being captured with his familymembers turns the novel Night from an written
account to a true family survival story. Primo Levi gives a reader a chance to become involved
into a lone survivor experience of what would they have done in order to survive what Levi went
through. Rather Wiesel shared experiences act similar to when watching the film The Impossible
. It gives a element that any great survival stories provide for people and that is what people are
willing do to protect the ones they love. Elie Wiesels , Night gives that part as well as the feelings
of fear that that come when a family member is in danger and when they are loss. In addition to
how do they stay strong themselves to make sure that their sacrifice or death was not for
nothing. As mention earlier, Night is Elie Wiesel personal perspective and shared experiences of
what life was like for him and his family in Nazi concentration camps of Auschwitz and
Buchenwald. Given that he does with his family the text offers a reader a chance to learn about
his family and what he recalled life was like prior to being captured and sent to Auschwitz. One day

Malcolm X Struggles
Malcolm X
One of the greatest screen biographies, is celebrating an excursion of an American life, beginning
in sorrow and bottoming out on the streets and imprisoned before its hero rejuvenated himself.
After watching the film, I understood the power that we have to change our own lives, how fate
doesn t deal all of the cards. Its hero was born Malcolm little a young African Americanboy.
He was victimized by violence. His father was murdered, probably by the KKK, which had earlier
burned down the family house. His mother was unable to support her children, so Malcom was
sent to a foster home. He was the brightest student in his classes but was steered away from
ambitious career choices. White teachers told him that, as a Negro, he should look for jobs where
he could work with his hands. One of his early jobs was as a Pullman porter, then in Harlem he
became a numbers runner and small time gangster. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To understand the stages of Malcolm s life is to walk for a time in an African Americans shoes,
and to glimpse where the journey might lead. Denzel Washington stands at the center of the film,
in a performance of enormous coverage. He never seems to be trying for an effect, and yet he is
always convincing. Holding audiences spellbound on street corners, churches, television and at
Harvard. Washington is a congenial, attractive actor, and so it is especially effective to see how he
shows the anger in Malcolm, the unbending dogmatic side. This movie strongly reminds me of
Martin Luther King movies. It reminds me of this because in movies about Martin Luther King life
they mostly only show Kings good part in his life. While watching the Malcolm X movie I learn
that Malcolm X is more on the fighting side of things to get equal rights. When King was fighting
equal rights he was in depended on the church and having their input on

Dubliners Research Paper
Dubliners by James Joyce is a collection of stories centered around Joyce s intentions to write
the moral history of Dublin s paralysis. Although paralysis seems to be the main theme in
Dubliners, another motif comes across in the pages of the stories. As if all of the mental,
physical, and emotional problems weren t enough, many of the characters in Dubliners are
alcoholics. Joyce utilizes the character of the drunk in many of the stories in Dubliners; hardly a
story skips a mention of a drink. The negative effects of alcohol occur again and again through
the collection of stories. For the most part, men are brought down by their addiction to alcohol
and their inability to control themselves when they are drunk. In Dubliners, the characters seek
their own desires, face obstacles that frustrate them, and ultimately give in to their need to
consume alcohol. With Dubliners, James Joyce brings attention to the different issues that
consuming alcohol caused in early 20th century Ireland using three particular stories;
Counterparts , Grace and Ivy Day in the Committee Room .James Joyce was born in the late
1800s in Dublin, Ireland. Joyce came from a big family; he was the eldest of ten children. It is
known that Joyce was not raised in a stable household. His father, John, was a known alcoholic and
his family did not have much money due to his father s constant spending. Despite the family s
continuous financial instability, however, Joyce s father was aware of his son

Teen Delinquency And Its Effects On Society
In modern society juvenile delinquency has been an issue engaged in by minors. More and more
adolescents are committing delinquent crimes. Delinquency can be seen as the direct result of
negative affective states. Gangs are a group of youths who collectively engage in delinquent
behavior. Peer groups can provide a lot of social and emotional support for anti social activities. Peer
relations, in all cultures have been linked to adolescent behavior choices including substance abuse
and delinquency. Currently there are now more than eight hundred thousand gangmembers in the
United States and twenty four thousand gangs. In order to stop a behavior, it is great to understand
what behaviors take place within the gang and also which will lead to resolve gang activity
(Shoemaker, 2013).
Three main anti social behaviors that occur within gangs are Peer pressure, parents/family, and
abuse/neglect. Growing up there is always the more popular youths who do well socially and in
school. However, children who are rejected from their peers tend to show aggressive behaviors or
behave anti socially (Siegel, 2011). In a child s adolescence, acceptance from people weighs a lot
more than it did when lets say a child was six months old. Acceptance by peers has a major impact
on socialization for children. By their teams, children find that most of the times their emotional
support comes from their friends if they are feeling bad. That sense of trust and being able to
confide to peers without

Neonatal Nursing Essay
Introduction
Neonatal nursing has a history that is different from the other nursing specializations. Neonatal
nurses have different practice settings and qualifications than other nurses. They have different job
characteristics and different educational requirements. This field of nursing has also been recently
in need of more trained professionals, so there are many career opportunities available. According to
the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, 3,100 neonatal nurses are practicing in the United
States today. A neonatal nurse provides direct patient care to infantpatients. Neonatal nurses give
the infants the care and compassion they deserve. Neonatal nurses are in frequent contact with
worried families.

Premature birth occurs in 11.7% of pregnancies in the United States. With the introduction of new
technology in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), premature infants are now kept alive at
lower birth weights, with more severe diagnoses, and a greater likelihood of surviving to discharge
to be cared for by parents.( Brady E. Hamilton; Joyce A. Marti; Stephanie J. Ventura 2012 p.305) An
important role to neonatal nursing includes consultation, research, and education of families and
staff.
Facts
Neonatal nursing in the hospital typically takes place in many different nurseries. They come in
three different levels, Level I, II, or III. Level I are for healthy infants and does not usually exist.
Newborns and their mothers are only in the hospital for a short period of time it isn t necessary
to have an actual nursery. The infants stay in the individual hospital rooms with their mothers.
Level II is called a special care nursery. This nursery is for infants born prematurely or if an infant
suffers from an illness. Level III is the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). This level is for
infants who cannot be admitted to any other level and suffer from acute illnesses, being premature
and need special technology to sustain life such as an incubator, ventilator or surgery Depending on
the care the infants need they may require specific things such as supplemental oxygen and

The field set up by a given moving charge is found to be perpendicular to its velocity, and to decay
with distance from the charge:
First, we will examine how magnetic fields are created, then we will calculate their magnitude and
direction.
Permanent magnets
Some materials can be said to be natural magnets. These magnets don t appear to have any moving
charge, so how can they set up magnetic fields? The answer is found at the atomic scale:
Electrons circling an atom set up small magnetic fields. In most materials, these fields are aligned
in a fairly random manner, so that all of these small fields cancel each other. In a magnet, however,
these fields line up to create a net magnetic dipole, so that the object sets up a magnetic field in the
surrounding space.
Current
A current is a moving charge. Moving charges set up magnetic fields. Thus, a current seems the
logical way to create a magnetic field. There are two basic setups which can be used for this
purpose:
Calculating Magnetic Field Strength
Equations
The Biot Savart Law: in order to find the magnetic field (denoted by the symbol B) produced by a

Goodfellas Analysis Essay
GoodFellas
Intro
At the beginning of the 1970s, two men, by the names of Martin Scorcese and Robert De Niro,
met and started an extremely successful and world renowned string of movie director/actor
collaborations. Over the course of 22 years, spawning from 1973, with their first film Mean
Streets, to 1995, with their most recent work Casino, the duo paired up for 8 movies, most of
which are considered some of the greatest films of all time. The most notable, however, would
have to be their 1990 movie Goodfellas, a classic film which was nominated for 6 oscars, winning
one, and named the greatest film of all time by British film magazine Total Film, an organized
crime movie which is one of my favorite movies.

The character becomes in conflict with himself when he meets and marries a girl by the name
of Karen Friedman, which makes him reconsider his life as a gangster. However, he realizes that
he is too deep into it and can not walk away. Despite this, for most of the film, he remains his
calm, composed and likeable self, as he is shown as the only sane person of the crew. The
catalyst to his character change is drugs. Once he starts dealing and using heroine and cocaine, he
immediately becomes a jumpy and paranoid man, who is unable to keep his cool. His drug
activities and incarceration lose him the respect of Jimmy Conway and made man Paul Cicero, who
he becomes in conflict with, which makes him a marked man.
Setting
The film starts out in a predominantly Italian American neighbourhood in Brooklyn, New York in
the mid 1950s. The values that were held the highest at that time in place were family and money.
The film s other major setting is John F Kennedy Airport, which is the scene of many of the
hijackings and robberies that occur in the movie.
Themes
The two major themes in this movie is friendship and greed, and the two themes often come in
conflict with each other. The mafia is made up of a very select few individuals, who are together
all the time and don t affiliate with outsiders. This makes them grow strong bonds and develop
friendships with each other. According to Jimmy Conway, the two most important things to
remember is to never rat on your friends,

In many Dark Romantic and Gothic pieces loss can derive from a loved one, psychological torment, or even from an egotistical attribute. These attributes may seem customary to society, however these issues can take a great toll on a character. For example, in Annabel Lee by Edgar Allan Poe, he lost his wife to a lung disease which ultimately caused the narrator to obsess in a form of grief over Annabel Lee. Moreover, in the Demon Lover by Elizabeth Bowen the protagonist and the antagonist essentially are the same person. I could try disguising it, but what could I use that wouldn t look like something wrapped around a sword? I don t have time for such nonsense. The easiest option is going out the emergency exit on the ground floor. There s no guard, but there is an alarm, which would be a problem if I didn t know the code. I step out to a narrow, damp walkway that seldom sees the light of day. I look up and see a security camera pointed right at me. Damn. My emotions are robbing me of common sense. I tug away from Mike and clutch the sword to my chest even though it s the instrument of my mother s death. Does her blood still stain the blade? My pulse is pounding in my ears and I m hating them both. Why aren t you at the wedding? Wedding s over, says Mike. The happy couple are taking photos inside the church. And by happy couple, I mean George and Mother. That means I still have a chance. I glance over my shoulder, looking for another door. There isn t one. The only way to get past Mike and Roy is to use the Yang Pearl, but how do I do that without hurting them and me? To make time, I ask, How did you know to find me? A guard paged me and told me he saw you leave the kongsi by the emergency exit and that you were carrying a sword. Who told you? He knows about it. I suck in yet another sense of betrayal as I ask. Who do you think? He shrugs since there s no need to answer. How long have you known? Not long. • 9. The Use Of Cell Phone Use It is known that the use of cell phones, specifically handheld use such as texting, while driving decreases driver awareness and the overall safety of roads. In response to this knowledge, some states have passed laws that have outlawed the usage of handheld devices, and while there should be laws that definitively outlaw handheld usage, is there enough empirical evidence to outlaw hands free usage of cell phones? In other words, does handsfree usage of cell phones, via bluetooth, speakerphone, etc., distract drivers enough to the point where states should legally ban the total use cell phones while driving. The following essay will introduce arguments for both sides of this topic, one for hands free cell phone usage and the other against cell phones usage entirely. Hands free cell phone usage should not be used while driving based on evidence that shows that the use a cell phone while driving leads to more driving mistakes and overall lack of awareness (Sanbonmatsu et al., 2015). Drivers that use cell phones make more serious and minor errors, but cannot recall making these errors due to a lack of awareness. These drivers are more unaware of their inconsistent speed, placement in lanes and near accidents than those that are not using a cell phone. Additionally, these drivers are less likely to self regulate their driving efficiently like drivers not using cell phones because of this lack of awareness. This reduction in self regulation moreover leads to an increase in both minor and major errors (Sanbonmatsu et al. 2015). To determine this, Sanbonmatsu et al. (2015) gathered participants and split them into either a control /no cell phone group and an experimental/cell phone group. These participants were then tested in a driving simulator with the control group simply running through the simulator while the cell phone group called a friend or family member and had a conversation on a hands free device. The results of this experiment indicated that even though the control group did still make errors, they had more awareness of those errors than the experimental group, and made less serious errors than the experimental group. Other evidence against hands free cell phone use while driving is simply that hands ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The police began to enforce what is known as the sodomy law to discriminate against those who do not comply with the norm of gender binary. The sodomy law can be defined as oral/anal sex between two partners (could be two women, two men, or a man and a woman). It has been present within our society for two centuries and has historically been a crime that went unenforced, for the most part, if committed by two consenting adults in private. The decision was criticized widely because it was sending the message to the world that homosexual relations were not accepted or supported in this country. They were not receiving the same rights heterosexual citizens were. The result lead to the question of why the State may be permitted to apply a generally applicable law to certain persons that it does not apply to others (Bowers v. Hardwick, 1986), referencing the state choosing to arrest homosexual partners but never heterosexual partners for sodomy. It makes it seem as if as a nation, we allow discrimination because even our cops and government officials participate in it. The oath wasn t a massive change in the feudal society, but it did have some effect on services. The feudal oath changed slightly. In feudal law, the members of society still had the same social classes. The oaths kept the feudal systems in tact. The oaths were helpful to members of society because they had said that each worker had to do his job in the medieval village and they usually used a sacred oath to God (Birney 85). Feudalism already existed in England at the time, but became stronger and stronger under each oath made. Changes in law were to be expected, like changes in taxing, military service and even a shift of power was made sometimes. The idea of feudalism had begun long before members of society realized (Birney 84). The Salisbury Oath was not necessarily a feudal oath. England practiced feudalism, so all tenants acknowledge a supreme member as their monarch. The members strived for a strong, feudal government, so William created an oath that was an expansion on feudalism (Birney 85). In feudal times, Oaths were the only source of agreement. Even the relationship between the feudal lord and the vassal was based on oaths. The Lord made an oath to protect the vassal s family if anything should happen, and the vassal made an oath to the lord that he would fight with all the effort possible (Conference Page 2). The many, oaths and agreements between kings and vassals was considered a reciprocal relationship. Oaths also kept the Military in tact, causing knights and vassals to dedicate their full service to the feudal lord. The human population is growing rapidly and the demand for fresh water is steadily increasing. The aim of this investigation is to measure personal water consumption over a period of three weeks and compare the collected data with the average water consumption of individuals in countries at both ends of the economic spectrum. The results of personal consumption show that over a one week period, an average of 713.17 litres of water were consumed (discounting embedded water), which breaks down to a daily average of 101.88 litres. Although this is lower than the average daily consumption of 150 litres for an individual in the UK , measures can be nevertheless be taken to reduce fresh water consumption, such as placing bricks inside the toilet cistern, using the washing machine less often, and using a weaker flow setting on the shower. Introduction Issues relating to water are increasingly becoming a major global concern. In choosing a subject to complete researchone of the most important factors is the methodical approach in which will be sought in the research process. (Vankatesh, Brown, Bala, 2013). The methodical approach implied provides assistance in examining, whether the information researched was initiated and properly researched. When the researched information has been proven the outcome becomes more prominent and reliable in other research subjects. This is important because it shows the value of the research as well as its reliability and predictability. When a researcher applies the proper methodology and research design the comparison among fact and theory can be verified and it will also provide the researcher ethic procedures needed for the research to be achieved (Vankatesh, Brown, Bala, 2013). The importance of the Smithsonian s Bearing Witness to History site as both a historical and American representation causes a divergence in its purpose, between its obligation for factual accuracy and intrinsic support of specific cultural values. Deepa Mehta s film Earth (1996) demonstrates the manipulation of texts to shape the meaning we derive from the past, influenced by our memory of the past, distorted by personal context. With this drop in its price and more people buying the car, the employees wage went up tremendously. It went all the way up to $5 a day. He aims to focus more on female recognition and self fulfillment, rather than provide a base for all readers to understand fully (HuМ€hn). At an elementary level, this may not influence children to an extent, but other stories that reproduce this same structure of plot elements could possibly influence children in the future. For instance, she was not the hero of the story. The Prince isn t the hero until he discovers her lost possession, a glass slipper, and searched for the person that fits. As told by Perrault, he had done nothing but look at her all the time, and that most certainly he was very much in love with the beautiful owner of the glass slipper. This enforces the fact that her beauty prevails over her actual personality but not behavior, and the appearance and mannerisms surely impressed the Prince. The Prince stereotypes the role of women being in need of a destined lover. He is the one that identifies Cinderella as the one in the dress, though excluding behavior, her appearance dazzles him for two nights at the ball. Most importantly, he s not the hero of the fairytale, but readers can interpret the fairy godmother as the savior of Cinderella s demise. The role of magic comes in part with the acceptance of achieving the imagery of an elegant woman, impressing the Prince who gains interest in her. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 44. Word Learning And Language Of The World s Different... Words are the essential part of communication in all of the world s different languages. Most adults understand thousands of words, and the majority of people master a vast vocabulary of words. Word learning and language are perhaps two of the more complex developmental achievements in human evolution, they stand out because of the conceptual and linguistic organization (Waxman, Lidz, 2006). This complex process has been very well studied in human infants and literature about this topic is abundant. Infants gather words and phrases from the human languageto which they are exposed to and make important advances in areas such as conceptual and linguistic domains. Furthermore, infants learn words with extraordinarily speed; this gathering of words is so fast that some researchers argue that there must be specialized mechanisms that deal with word learning (Gleitman, L. R., Cassidy, K., Nappa, R., Papafragou, A., Trueswell, J. C. 2005). These specialized mechanisms for word learning are associated with fast mapping, which means that a word meaning is deduced from very few exposures to that specific word. The ability of children to fast map is regarded as proof of the astonishing efficiency of early word learning (Dollaghan, C. A. 1987). There is certainly great knowledge about word learning in human infants; however, this subject has not been studied extensively in animals. One of the few researches in this topic suggests that a dog also have the ability to learn words ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This is due to the author s ability to rugby and interest in how rugby has been developed into a disability sport. Wheelchair rugby, formally known as Murderball, was developed in Canada in 1977 by quadriplegic athletes (International Wheelchair Rugby Federation, 2014). Quadriplegia is more commonly known as tetraplegia, this is where all four limbs are paralysed and most commonly as a result of a neck injury (Disabled World, 2010) Wheelchair Rugby was created as an adaptation of wheelchair basketball, by reducing the amount of hand and arm actions to make the game inclusive for quadriplegic athletes; this was done by removing dribbling. Athletes were classified on their medical diagnosis, in relation to the level of their spinal injury. In 1991 this was changed to a functional classification specific to wheelchair rugby, in order to include those with polio, cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, multiple sclerosis and amputations. According to Sport England (2010) 68% of wheelchair rugby participants have a spinal cord injury, compared 6% with cerebral palsy and 4% with muscular dystrophy. Diagnostic ultrasounds are high frequency sound waves to create an image of soft issues in the body such as muscles, joints, and internal organs. It is a complex sensory organization which consists of a peripheral sensory apparatus, which lies within the inner ear, and a central processor, which consists primarily of the vestibular nuclei and the cerebellum. The vestibular system is integrated with the proprioceptive and visual systems to provide sensory information used in the maintenance of balance. The peripheral vestibular system consists of a bony labyrinth and a membranous labyrinth. This system sits in the otic capsule in the petrous portion of the temporal bone. Although paralysis seems to be the main theme in Dubliners, another motif comes across in the pages of the stories. As if all of the mental, physical, and emotional problems weren t enough, many of the characters in Dubliners are alcoholics. Joyce utilizes the character of the drunk in many of the stories in Dubliners; hardly a story skips a mention of a drink. Delinquency can be seen as the direct result of negative affective states. Gangs are a group of youths who collectively engage in delinquent behavior. Peer groups can provide a lot of social and emotional support for anti social activities. Peer relations, in all cultures have been linked to adolescent behavior choices including substance abuse and delinquency. Currently there are now more than eight hundred thousand gangmembers in the United States and twenty four thousand gangs. In order to stop a behavior, it is great to understand what behaviors take place within the gang and also which will lead to resolve gang activity (Shoemaker, 2013). Three main anti social behaviors that occur within gangs are Peer pressure, parents/family, and abuse/neglect. Growing up there is always the more popular youths who do well socially and in school. However, children who are rejected from their peers tend to show aggressive behaviors or behave anti socially (Siegel, 2011). The answer is found at the atomic scale: Electrons circling an atom set up small magnetic fields. In most materials, these fields are aligned in a fairly random manner, so that all of these small fields cancel each other.
