The moon is full
And the night is dark
The wind is cold
And the street is empty
The dead arise
And the shadows move
Beware! You’re in
For a scare

4. Empty House
by Taylor Haynes
Scratching on the window pane
Lily already filled with shame
She pouted “monsters aren’t real”
She knew some can kill
Lily should’ve went trick-or-treating
But she was so busy reading
The stranger turned on the light
It gave her quite a fright
It was her dad
She was awfully glad!
Bing, snap, pop! The rain dropped
She ran downstairs then stopped
Click, click of the boots
She sat down and began to scoot
Her feet hit a hard metal shoe
She began to cry boo hoo!

6. Halloween Street
by Quinterrius Hargrave
Boom Boom Boom!!
The music plays as I turn around
I see a ghost and I hit the ground.
I close my eyes and hope the ghost is gone
I am very scared. I want to scream
But I don’t want to be heard.
We head to the next house . Here it comes again
RAWWWW they screamed at me and I jumped back
Then went to get some kit-kats
The next house was very scary
This time it was different
He jumped at me, but it didn’t frighten me

7. Untitled
by Angela Salazar
The leaves made a
Rustling sound while the
Black cats ran through.
The moon was big and full.
The light made shadows come to life
And the old trees moved from place to place.
The wind made witches catch up
And fly up in the sky.
The black clouds were now a shield
Behind which the moon had disappeared.
The wind howled with ghosts.
Halloween is here, almost to disappear.

8. Halloween
by Maria Sanchez
Halloween, the time
Of year to go scaring off
Into the night.
When you can commit
The perfect crime,
And yet who will find out?
Nobody would know
Who you are or what
You will do, because
Behind that mask you can
Hide a secret or two can’t you?

9. Troll
by Jesus Perez
Thump, thump! Who goes there?
Crash, crash! Who do you think you are,
Disturbing me! I am 177 years old.
I hates those cars that ride on top of my house.
I’ll eat you for dinner, but I can’t see you because it’s dark.
I hate those dogs that always bark.
Don’t make fun of my nose!
People throw rocks at me until they see
I am a real troll

11. Dreaming Candy
by Vicoria Silva
On a cold autumn night
The kids ran with so much fright
Goblins and ghouls with so much power
Thinking the kids are a good snack to devour
Running and jumping for 10 blocks straight
Knowing that they should have ate

12. Dreaming Candy (2)
by Vicoria Silva
“I will get you kids!” the goblin
growled
Grinding his teeth with the ghoul
Trying to gurgle and suck up his drool
The kids had run into their rooms
While the goblin and ghoul scratched
And grabbed a big black broom

by Vicoria Silva
The witches weren’t pleases so
They hissed and wheezed
As the goblins started to scream
and shout
The picture turned blurry and black
So the kids woke up with a

Now you know not to eat
Candy before you go to bed!!

14. October Night
by Karen Flores
Today is Halloween, when
Witches and pumpkins come
Alive. It’s really dark and
Really scary. I hear kids
Crying and running steady.
My legs shake and I want to cry.
But you should not run
Nor hide because even if
You try, you won’t find
That place to hide
Because it is
Halloween Night
