WHAT IS STRESS??
• Stress arises when people undergo a severe pressure and
they fear that is impossible to cope up.
• Biologically speaking, it’s a
Response towards any kind of perceived
Threat.
Stress!!
• 20th Century syndrome born out of modern life-style and the
complexities of emotional outbursts.
• Stress often results in aggravating physical problems and
emotional bouts.
• Insomnia, depression, family conflicts, and lot many.
• Everyday activities get hampered due to stress as a result of it,
the performance level drops down.
Stressed…?
• Health issues.
• Job Insecurities.
• Work culture.
• Modern technological life.
• Family problems.
• Eating habits.
• A situation like COVID-19
Types of stress
• Acute Stress- short duration, over exertion, meeting deadlines, peer
pressure, minor accidents. It results into palpitation, body pain,
muscle pain, digestion problems.
• Episodic acute Stress-when an individual gets regular bouts of acute
stress.
• Chronic Stress- Prolonged due to successive failures, poverty
stricken life, broken families. It takes a toll over a person’s
psychology that deteriorates his physical health.
Managing Stress Associated with the COVID-
19
• Increase Sense of Safety
1. Washing hands with water.
2. Use of hand sanitiser.
3. Following social distancing.
4. Face masks and shields.
5. If infected keep yourself isolated.
• Stay Connected through social media. Seek family support. Be open about your
problems.
• Try to pacify yourself. Stop the exposure of news channels that trigger up your
stress.
Stress busters
• Get adapted to change.
• Avoid using alcohol, physical abuses and smoking.
• Be positive towards life.
• Go for meditation and exercises.
• Engage in recreational activities.
• Cherish your hobbies.
• Music is the most important stress buster.
• Have disciplined food habits.
• Ensure adequate sleep.
• Muscle relaxation.
