According to Food and Agriculture Organization of the
United Nations(FAO) “In many countries, street foods
make an important contribution to employment,
household revenue and food security, and help to meet the
challenge of feeding urban populations, particularly in
developing countries.
According to Sylvia Angubua Baluka in his study ‘Hygiene
practices and food contamination in managed food service
facilities in Uganda’. This study has found that there is a critical
need for improving food safety at restaurants and dining halls
at Makeree University. The finding that the majority of
respondents did not follow good hygiene practices, indicates
laxity or lack of supervision, and a need to overcome the
problems of the ‘intention-behavior gap’ in hygienic food
handling.
5. STATEMENT OF PROBLEM

income

7. DATA ANALYSIS AND INTERPRETATION
TESTING OF HYPOTHESIS
(Ho): Consumption of street food has no impact on the health in the future.
(H1): Consumption of street food has impact on health in the future.
The hypothesis is tested using Regression Analysis
X on Y
n 𝑥𝑦-( 𝑥 ∗ 𝑦)/ 𝑦2
-( 𝑦)
2
=0.28
Y on X
n 𝑥𝑦-( 𝑥 ∗ 𝑦)/ 𝑋2
-( 𝑋)
2
= 0.84
It is observed through regression analysis that there is impact on the health in the
future. Therefore null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and alternate hypothesis (H1) is
accepted.
8. FINDINGS
1. Consumers are aware of minor health issues
2. They are not aware of hazardous health issues in future
