Erica Mitchell worked in manufacturing after high school but always wanted a career involving computers and working with people. She had to delay her dreams of college after becoming a mother in high school. A friend referred her to Full Sail University, where she researched degree programs and spoke with an admissions advisor. Erica decided Full Sail was the right place to further her education and focus on her passions for technology and media. Since enrolling, she has worked hard to pursue her dream career in these fields.

Before I started the MCBS Program I was a manufacturing offline making
transmissions for Toyota.

It was not the dream job I anticipated but it paid the bills.

I had always thought I wanted to do something that involved my love for
computers and my love for the people.

The reason is because I was so fascinated and intrigued by the way that
technology was constantly evolving.

I also enjoyed talking and working with different people.

But then I got pregnant while I was still in High School.

Because of that I could not attend the exact college that I wanted to.

Because of that I was forced to actually find a job in the real world.

Because of that I started to push my dream of doing something computer
related that I loved to the side.

Even though I had not went to college like I originally anticipated I still
had the dreams of one day doing something great.

I also knew that I really needed to further my education but felt that it
could wait until the time was right.

Until finally I was referred to Full Sail University by a friend of mine and I
actually got the chance to talk to an admissions adviser about my
interests.

Everything about our conversation was so intriguing to me.

The others students that I talked to also made great comments about this
school.

From the overall research that I did I came to the conclusion that Full Sail
would be the place to completely further my education and focus on
perfecting my skills.

And ever since I decided to pursue my passion for media I have put my
best foot forward and worked hard to continue on the path to a very
rewarding career that I truly enjoy.

I will continue to push myself harder knowing that with each opportunity
comes experience to be able to perfect my craft.
