EXPERIENCE
RETAIL TRANSITION OFFICER, ESSENTIAL ENERGY — 2012-2013
Responsible for the management and measurement of Tariffs and Unmetered Charge (UMC)
records. Using the Essential Energy CIS Peace system, I monitored and updated price and
rate increases as a critical element of ensuring customers were invoiced correctly. Running,
interpreting and reporting to management on CIS Peace data and customer information on a
daily basis.
REFUNDS ADVISOR, ESSENTIAL ENERGY — 2011 - 2012
Analysing and determining eligibility for refunds within my financial delegation (up to $2000),
processing daily system run reports to facilitate refund payments using a range of payment
methods (Cheque, EFT, Credit Cards, Direct Deposit). Liaising with management to
recommend refunds beyond my delegation - including justification for the payment. Working
with staff on matters related to refunds (timeframes and amounts of refunds). Preparing and
collating reports on daily, weekly and monthly refunds.
I implemented a system for managing refunds between $2000-$5000 which allowed multiple
authorisation requests and simplified the approval process to one required response. This
made the process quicker and more consistent - with stronger centralised record keeping.
Internal Audit processes were strengthened as a result and allowed large refunds to be
processed daily rather than weekly. It also allowed call centre staff easier access to current
information on refund queries.
SYSTEM TEST ANALYST, IBM AUSTRALIA — 2002 - 2010
Working within Customs and Border Protection, I was initially responsible for the production
and testing of multiple EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) messages for the Customs Connect
Facility (CCF), which was created as a gateway for Importers/Exporters to communicate
directly with Customs on an electronic level. This then evolved into creating and executing
large volume test phases and plans. I was also responsible for reporting and documenting the
results of the testing and the resulting incident reports. I worked closely with system
developers to integrate the results of the testing activities into system development overall.
Working with one of the developers, I was able to streamline the testing process to move from
single message testing to multiple message testing. Comparing the results of these bulk
messages against templates allowed greater integrity in system checking. The timeframe
required for testing was also reduced from days to 30-40 minutes, saving both time and money
to IBM and to our client.
SAP HR CERTIFIED CONFIGURATION CONSULTANT, (ATTAINED AT SAP TRAINING
2. FACILITIES IN GORDON/SYDNEY) — 1999 - 2002
Working on a number of projects, I worked as a technical advisor, trainer and a post go live
support officer for the implementation of SAP Human Resources components and system
modules. Effective implementation of these modules required demonstrating a clear
understanding and appreciation for HR issues and activities including organisational structure
management, employee groupings, leave mapping, etc. I assisted with the development of
end user screen layouts to maximise the utilisation of the modules.
My work included long term projects from blueprint state, through development, testing, Go Live
and upgrade enhancements and particularly appreciating legacy systems being replaced for the
client. To achieve successful implementation, I developed and documented comprehensive SAP
test cases and scenarios to confirm system integrity and performance to client satisfaction.
I also prepared and presented training modules on system implementation and enhancement.
I commenced my working career in Canberra as a Commonwealth Public Servant - working
until 1999 in a number of Commonwealth Departments in roles primarily related to HR and
Payroll. These roles included a number of years managing payroll for the Senate whilst
working at Parliament House.
For two years, I undertook the management of compensation cases, arranging medical
appointments, calculating payments as appropriate (including complex pro-rata payments) and
liaised with a range of related staff managing the often private and personal matters.
I am particularly proud of my first years working in the SAP environment at the Australian War
Memorial where I was responsible for creating screen layouts, employee groupings, leave
types, employee rosters for fulltime and shiftwork staff.
