EMPLOYMENT HISTORY
Alcatel-Lucent / Nokia - Project Co-ordinator July 14 to December 16
Running logistics projects for locally held stock, including Optics Stockholding for Chorus. My
duties included: dispatching & invoicing eqpt. monitoring & chasing deliveries into country,
providing weekly & monthly reports for the wider project team, these reports included:
comparing forecast v actual eqpt usage, stock levels, their age & value, dispatched orders &
cost etc. Running monthly supply chain meeting’s. Analysing service forecasts to produce a
replenishment recommendation at a part level. Requesting PO’s for dispatch, eqpt & storage
costs, checking invoicing from the distribution centre used for the project. Dealing with day to
day queries: on eqpt availability, deliveries, charges etc. Carrying out quarterly stock takes.
Managing NZ Repair & Exchange Service – Ordering spares, processing invoices, allocating
costs internally, monthly reporting on performance, dealing with escalations.
Logistics Manager Oct 10 to June 14
Part of Delivery Ops, I manage freight forwarding companies & national logistical needs for
Alcatel NZ. Dealing with: urgent, lost, delayed or damaged shipments, arranging exports & NZ
Customs enquiries. Being able to track everything & building an in depth knowledge of the
equipment is crucial. Working closely with PM’s & various departments up to director level. I
managed the closure of the main Alcatel warehouse to bring NZ in line with the current
operating model.
Project Co-ordinator June 10 to Sept 10
My first role with Alcatel was managing the PTW’s (permit to work) for the mobile site builds &
upgrades on the XT network. Working closely with the deployment engineers & service
companies to ensure that all the permits were in place to enable work to commence.
Kordia – Fibre Designer January 10 to May 10
Working on the Chorus FTTN Broadband upgrade project primary providing fibre to nodes.
Planning fibre routes, civil works around a new cabinet & the copper cut over are all part of the
scope. Plans showing all aspects of this work are produced for contractors to work from. Based
in the Visionstream office & liaising with their staff on a day to day basis. A quick turnaround of
projects is vital.
The Hyper Factory – Project Manager August 09 to October 09
The project involves building a mobi website site for Qualcomm, which is designed specifically
for PDA’s, iphones etc. Two sites were built to accommodate the differences in handsets &
their capabilities. The site was over 80 pages, 20 videos, pdf documents RSS feeds &
numerous other features to enhance the user experience. This was deployed over an edge
based server network. There was a steep learning curve into the world of software platforms &
all the associated terminology. Other challenges faced on this project include: a short handover
period & dealing with international web designers based off-shore.

Alcatel-Lucent – National / Regional Logistics Coordinator May 08 to June 09
Coordination of Logistics and supply chain activities at a regional & national level for Project
Sunrise. This is an ALU/TNZ role out of GSM, 2100UMTS & 850UMTS of approximately 1000
sites. Responsible for ensuring that sites are provisioned with the right product, in time for the
aggressive build. Managing equipment call off. Regional first point of contact for all logistics
and supply chain queries / issues, from deployment engineers and Telecom Service
Companies.
Kordia – National Documentation Manager May 07 to July 07
Collating information & documentation from Q&A teams in the field. To prepare the sites ready
for acceptance by Ericsson & ultimately Telstra. Working in a team environment closely
alongside the Ericsson team. More recent projects include line of sight microwave surveys &
design; comparing Tx designs with tower mark ups for free aperture space. Working as the co-
ordinator between Tx design & Ericsson to come up with a workable solution for height
changes, hot swap outs etc.
Fitness Industry (NZ/AUS) – August 05 to February 07
During this period I furthered my education & became a qualified Personal Trainer working for
Les Mills.
Andrew Corporation (NZ) Ltd – Project Manager August 02 to July 05
This company provided coverage solutions to the mobile industry working closely with
Vodafone & TNZ. My role evolved from a technician’s to that of a project manager. These two
roles ran concurrently. P.M. - Producing quotes, BOM’s, PO’s, raising invoices, ordering eqpt,
engaging & controlling contractors. Projects included: Installation of D.A.S. for the main
Vodafone offices whilst the building was under construction, Install of a CBD Microcell system
& upgrades of existing systems.
My technician’s role included commissioning, testing, installation, maintenance & logistics.
Working on various repeaters, Britecell, DAS systems etc
Cable & Wireless, Planning/Project support (Contract) Oct 01 to March 02
Designing Metro DWDM & SDH networks in Paris, Amsterdam & Frankfurt covering over 20
sites. The role was originally to design the rings but soon evolved into a general project support
role. Site surveys, produce installation documentation & technical support. I had to decide on
most aspects of the installation & design from overall link budgeting down to 2Mbit/s trib
termination details.
Other tasks included: obtaining quotes from various sources for: fibre, power, cabinets etc,
raising purchase orders, arranging access, dealing with Telehouses, updating project
managers on progress.
Nortel, Networks Design Engineer (Contract) Nov 2000 to August 01
Systems Design Engineer working with Nortel transmission equipment.
Designing European wide networks using DWDM technology capable of carrying up to Tera bit
rate traffic. Designing Metro city rings to produce: HLD documents, link budget calculations &
full equipment lists. Producing: quotes, equipment requirements, compliance statements, link
budget calculations using DCM’s DSCM’s & pads. Various planning tools are used in this role.
Cable & Wireless, Planner (Contract) Nov 99 to Oct 2000
Planning 160Gig/bit DWDM systems over leased fibres using Nortel OPTera for a PAN
European project. Designing interconnects between TN-64x, Marconi 4/3/1 DACCS & OPTera
equipment.
This involves site surveys across Europe in order to produce a high level design that covers:
floor layouts, equipment positions, superstructure & power requirements.
Liaison between project managers, contractors & Nortel staff on a day-to-day basis.
Produced a feasibility study to provide diverse routes for the new TAT14 Trans-Atlantic cable
landing on the West Coast of the UK to London. This was to provide duct space, fibre &
equipment accommodation for 3rd party companies.

Energis, Detail Designer, Transmission (Contract) Nov 98 – October 99
Designing the expansion of the Energis SDH network, both for core infrastructure & for end
customer service delivery. Responsible for detailed site designs, configuration & support for the
implementation of the transport & access network components, this includes connectivity &
cabling for the site & network elements. Designing new routes using TN64X & MOR amplifier
technologies over single fibre allowing for chromatic dispersion, producing configuration tables
for the new equipment. Provide PDH, SDH, ATM & Frame Relay network services to large U.K.
based companies, i.e. BBC, Boots, Going Places, Post Office, Planet (ISP)
Checking designs before authorisation & signing off completed documentation.
