I first became a private–schooler when I attended pre–school at age 4 and maintained this group
until my senior year of high–school. Throughout my twelve plus years of a private education, I have
seen and heard nearly every stereotype, both complimentary and derogatory, accurate and erroneous,
as well as, prejudicial and supportive. Private schoolers are typified by false stereotypes just as any
other minority group is. For example, private school students are expected, by society as a whole, to
be successful and intelligent by default. Yet, there are some stereotypes that hold true, such as the
majority of private school students hold academic achievement as paramount alongside respect and
courteousness to others. Private school students are generally students in a family with a high
socioeconomic status and parents with a college education or higher. At large, society tends to typify
private school students as conceited, haughty, and arrogant. While this is true for some private
school students, it does not describe the majority of students of these students in an accurate light. I
was placed in the private school environment by my parents at age 4, and by my own personal
decision, I decided to continue until university. This decision was made in order to raise me in a
safer and more controlled setting, and personally, to remove as many negative influences as

There has always been a large debate between private and public schools. Even though this
argument has been going on for a long time, no one can seem to figure out which is the better
choice. Some of the main things people tend to focus on when comparing and contrasting the two
types of schools are tuition, academic environment, curriculum, athletics, and how the students are

For example, if the student does not follow the rules or purposely misbehaves, the student will

The issue of where to send one's child for schooling has recently become a growing problem in not
only America, but around the globe. Why should parents send their children to a school they must
pay extra for, when there are schools funded by the government and their taxes? Part of the answer
to this question can be found inside of the question: public schools are state funded. This means that
schools will be littered with thousands of other students, and not allow for enough focus on actually
teaching the kids (West & Woessmann 2008). The reasoning behind this ties into the issue of over
population in schools that are unable to accommodate the growing number of college–bound
individuals. The high influx of students causes the student to teacher ratio to skyrocket through the
roof (Chen 2011). It is shown that "proper student to teacher ratio count is about 12:1," however, in

It was rough, I went to public school up into seventh grade my parents felt like private school was

neighborhoods, it was fun, but going to private school is different, you have all these types of kids

don't think too much about in our everyday lives. There are two branches of government the
Democrats, and the Republicans. Our president, Donald Trump, is a republican. He believes in more
investment in our military than our schooling. We already took a pay cut in our schooling system
because of that, and the money that is going towards our schools are either going to public or private
schools. But is it really necessary for the government to fund private schools when students already
have to pay tuition? The government should be funding more towards public schooling.
