1. Steps To Write An Essay
Crafting an essay on the intricacies of "Steps To Write An Essay" is a task that may initially seem
straightforward, yet it unfolds into a multi-faceted challenge. The difficulty lies not only in
conveying the fundamental steps but also in ensuring clarity, coherence, and engagement
throughout the essay.
To begin with, one must delve into the nuances of each step, breaking down the process into
comprehensible components. Explaining the preliminary stage of choosing a topic involves
considerations of relevance, interest, and feasibility. Transitioning to the subsequent step,
outlining, demands a keen understanding of structuring ideas and arguments logically. The
challenge intensifies when addressing the actual writing process—juggling the introduction,
body paragraphs, and conclusion while maintaining a cohesive narrative.
Moreover, striking the right balance between providing detailed guidance and avoiding
unnecessary verbosity adds another layer of complexity. The essay must cater to both novices
seeking a foundational understanding and seasoned writers looking for nuanced insights. This
necessitates a delicate interplay of simplicity and sophistication in language and explanations.

conversational tone can be demanding, yet these elements are crucial for holding the reader's

2. The Boys Of Winter Character Analysis
A tale can be told in several different ways. Many people are aware of the
astonishing feat of the 1980 USA Olympic Men s Hockey team, who were huge
underdogs in their bid to win the gold medal against the powerhouse USSR. The
movie Miracle , directed by Gavin O Connor, is the dramatic journey taken by this
team, from the anxiety filled tryouts in Colorado Springs, Colorado, to the
exhilarating game against the USSR in Lake Placid, New York. The book, The
Boys of Winter written by Wayne Coffey, is based on the same events, but takes a
less emotional, more factual approach to the subject. The purpose of this essay is to
compare these two resources, and to discuss how they differ in tone, style, and theme.
In reviewing these two sources, what is most striking is that the voyage the 1980
USA Olympic Men s hockey team takes is portrayed very differently in the movie
than in the book. The tone and pacing of the movie is much quicker. For example,
the movie only covers about two years in time while the book, in comparison,
covers almost 50 years. The film follows the journey in chronological order and
slowly builds excitement and suspense. It begins with training camp and shows how
the team is chosen. From there, it unfolds to reveal key parts of the pre Olympic
games. Finally, it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Written for true fans of that one night in Lake Placid, the book focuses more on the
individual players and their lives leading up to and after this historic game. Wayne
Coffey does not simply write about the USA side of the game. By spending time
detailing the history of the USSR team, he provides a much more balanced view. This
allows the reader to gain context and understand the perspective of both teams.
Because of this informative style, the outcome of the game was not as important as
understanding the stories of the men behind both

When Fiver, Hazel s younger brother, has a vision about the warren being attacked,
he immediately sets out to tell Threarah. After Fiver and Hazel finally reach the
distanced Threarah, he ignores them. Threarah scolds them for interrupting his
sleep and his patience. This decision is important in displaying the desire for power
in Threarah; he knows that if he listens to Fiver he could lose everything. The task
of moving the entire warren would not only take mounds of time and effort, but
the decision would also be Threarah s. This means that if the move was a bad
decision he could possibly lose his power. Threarah is willing to risk the lives of
his entire warren to safely retain power; he is so caught up in being power hungry
that Fiver s vision eventually becomes true and the whole warren is killed. As our
first example of a power crazy leader, this quickly shows the reader the social
hierarchy of the rabbits as well as the extent they re willing to do to maintain it. The
next chief rabbit that leads in his own interest is Woundwort, chief rabbit of the
Efrafa warren. After having both of his parents killed at an early age, Woundwort

5. Aristotelian View Of Virtue In Electrical Engineering
In this paper, an Aristotelian view of virtue will be applied to electrical engineering,
with an emphasis on my subfield of embedded systems. Two virtues have been
selected as being particularly relevant to the field of electrical engineering. These
virtues, inspired by items in the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics
Engineers) code of ethics, are the pursuit of continued education and the honest
representation of data. The IEEE code of ethics was selected due to IEEE s
relevance to the field of electrical engineeringas well as its position as the largest
technical professional organization. 1
Aristotle s ethical views were based around humanity pursuing a good life, or
Eudaimonia. Aristotle defines eudaimonia as happiness, and postulates that it is the
end goal of people.2 Eudaimonia is realized by acting virtuously. Aristotle s view on
virtues is that they are what make things exceptional. For example, a knife is
exceptional, or virtuous, if it is an excellent knife. The virtues for a knife might be
sharpness, ergonomics, and being otherwise well designed for its task. Likewise,
virtues for humans are what make them outstanding specimens .
Aristotle divided these human virtues into two groups: virtues of thought and virtues
of character. Virtues of thought are intellectual virtues 2 and involve the part of the
soul that engages in reasoning 2. This includes virtues like prudence, the ability to
reason, and grasping the nature of things. 3 Conversely,

It was February sixteenth, I was in sixth grade and I had gotten a flyer for the
annual school ski trip. More excited than ever I took it home and put it on the
fridge so my mom and dad would see it when they got home from work. Twenty
minutes after they got home they hadn t said anything, so I casually took it off the
fridge and placed it on the couch between my parents in the back room. My mom
looked at me with a tired sigh and asked what is was. I happily told her that it was
an application form for a school field trip coming up! She signed the form and
stated that we d be renting skis from Barrie s Extreme Sports Store. I was surprised
that this wasn t a bigger deal! I had never been skiing before and it was clearly
something that needed way more attention! It was very upsetting. But on the other
side of the couch sat my dad, who would give me anything I ever desired. I m
spoiled by both my parents but he definitely spoils me more than my mother does,
not to mention his constant enthusiastic support. Skiing?! How exciting! You ve
never been right? he exclaimed Nope, never been! You ll like it, it s exhilarating!
he was clearly very excited for me. That s when my brother, Lance, walked in.
What are we talking about, Lance began, Are we going skiing! Olivia is, you aren t

why his little sister got to go and not him. But I told him the details and that it was

Cultural Acceptance in Persepolis
Marjane Satrapi s graphic novel Persepolis is an autobiography that depicts her
childhood up to her early adult years in Iran during and after the Islamic revolution.
Throughout the novel Satrapi incorporates character development, religion, and the
conflict of freedom vs. confinement in order to develop a greater appreciation
between two opposing eastern and western cultures.
When analyzing the current relationship between eastern and western cultures, it
seems as if tensions and conflict arise from a complex and layered set of problems.
These issues range from political, economic and military stances to opposing cultural
beliefs. The genesis of these ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Satrapi s parents desire for her education is what initially keeps the family from
leaving. The reason then becomes the militant control of the city and the constant
fighting that prevents them. Eventually Satrapi s parents see how dangerous it is and
send her away, yet they make the choice to stay. It seems odd that her parents wouldn
t leave with her. When analyzing the statistical data presented in the Middle East
Research Information Project, the casualties witnessed by Marjane and her family,
rose near eight thousand just in their hometown (MERIP, 3). The death of Iranian
citizens was not only brought by the fighting of the Mujahedeen rebel army, but
anyone that was seen as a threat to their new ideals. Executions were common and
always practiced in public according to Keith Jones s article, Tragedy of the Iranian
Revolution. In the face of this present danger it is hard for the reader to comprehend
the logic in wanting to stay amongst the violence. What Satrapi presents as reasoning
to the reader is the fact that her parents have always lived in Iran. They don t know
anything else. To evacuate raises a lot more internal conflicts for her parents than it
would for their daughter who has not had time to settle in one area. Ultimately the
decision not to leave goes beyond cultural ties, educational reasoning, or even being
forced to stay. There is a natural tendency for man to become complacent and

Bioenergy is a form of energy that is taken from biological sources known as
biomass. Materials like manure, wood and wood manufacturing wastes and other
biodegradable by products from the agricultural industry are some examples of
biomass. Biomass can also be derived from waste products from industrial,
commercial and domestic activities (EECA, 2014).
Fuels are that produced from biomass are generally labelled as biofuels. These
biofuels are usually used as substitutes for, or in addition to, fossil fuels used for
various applications. Biodiesel and bioethanol are the most widely used biofuels in

11. How Does Ginsberg Influence The Beat Movement
Poetry is the one place where people can speak their original human mind. It is the
outlet for people to say in public what is known in private. Allen Ginsberg. These
words truly capture Allen Ginsberg s feelings of poetry as an expressive art form. In
his writing he speaks things that people wouldn t dare to usually touch upon. With
his audacity and cynical outlook on life, Ginsberg countlessly influenced the Beat
Movement of the 1950 s. Born in Newark, New Jersey, 1926, Allen Ginsbergwas
known in the poetryworld for the cutthroat social commentary presented in his
work. With a mentally ill mother, and a strict disciplinarian father, Ginsberg s
troubled childhood is considered to be one of the main inspirations for his writing.
His father introduced him to poetry, and his main influence was his high school
mentor, William Carlos Williams. (Allen Ginsberg 1) Ginsberg was a major figure
in the Beat Poetry movement. The Beat Movement involved a literary group
challenging materialism and conformity while also focusing on expressing their
individuality. It took place from 1950 1959, in Post War America. The movement s
main branches were in San Francisco, Southern California, and New York (Beat

June 30, 1963 when both the Union and the Confederacy soldiers prepare for battle
around the town of Gettysburg and the 1st to 3rd of July 1973 when the battle began

soldiers, trusted each other, and they are worried with the safety of others. They

his conventional policies are often conflict with Longstreet s more creative
policies. Lee is also a confederacy general who gives orders from the defensive
position. Shaara describes Lee as a man who is alert of the fact that his career is
going to ending. Lee holds to his conventional ideas of war but, he appreciates the
significance of Longstreet s pioneering ideas on the war. Lee inspired the wounded
soldiers who drag themselves from the Pickett s Charge. They begged him to be
allowed to return back to war. However, his confidence in the soldiers lead to him
overestimating the soldiers. This might result in a disaster at Pickett s Charge.
James Longstreet had strong opinions and he was full of hatred because of the
war. He believed that the war was a mistake. The strategies used by both general in
war showed that Longstreet was a better general. Lee s strategies were responsible
for the death of several soldiers and the reason they lost the war.
Finally, Gettysburg played an important role in the Civil War, it is represented as a
substantial part in America s history. Previous to the Gettysburg War, the
Confederacy had won many wars. However, Gettysburg was a turning point for the
development of the Civil War. At Gettysburg, the Union gained their first victory in
the War. Therefore, they gained motion in the War and won all the following wars.
The Gettysburg War significantly decreased their ammunition and soldiers. The
North had double, the number of soldiers as the South but eventually lost the War due

Module 5: Final Paper: Current Issues Healthcare costs in the United States are
soaring. To stop this cost inflation, healthcare organizations are being pushed to
decrease those costs. Simultaneously, healthcare organizations are being pushed to
increase quality. To motivate healthcare organizations to increase quality, the federal
government has issued an enormous amount of new regulations and has decreased
reimbursement when quality standards are not met. Thus, healthcare organizations
must find a way to increase quality of care while decreasing costs. The newest wave

For long term care facilities specifically, CMS estimates that the burden of the new
regulations will cost an average of $69,000 to implement and cost $55,000 annually

finding the resources to become compliant despite the lack of reimbursement for
implementation. Solutions and Recommendations Services must be coordinated, care
must be patient and resident centered, and outcome driven. This is no different when
striving to meet emergency preparedness regulations. Healthcare technology can
create efficiency in workflow, as well as, assist with tracking and analyzing data.
Efficiency can be created by decreasing the steps staff take to get supplies, move
patients and residents, and provide cares. This may be done by moving where
supplies are kept, moving the location of services being provided, or creating ease for
staff while they are providing cares. To achieve efficiency, the right staff, the right
supplies, and the right data must all come together at the right time (Brennan,
Oelschlaeger, Cox, Tavenner, 2014). In addition, leadership efficiency is vital.
Manual data gathering and analyzing must be replaced with technology generated
information. Frequent, non productive meetings must be canceled. Leaders need to

16. Meursault s Indifference in The Stranger, by Albert Camus
In The Stranger, Albert Camus allows the main character to tell the story in order to
give the reader an experience of his own. Obviously, with a novel also comes
language, which Camus incorporates cleverly as a way to indirectly illustrate
Meursault s thoughts about certain situations. Although the novel represents a
postmodern setting, the author shifts the overall meaning. In The Stranger, Camus
applies a unique literary style as a power that deflects blame from Meursault, the
antiheroic character. In order to disclaim the fault of Meursault, Camus incorporates
several instances in which he leaves a greater sense of authority to nonliving objects,

the blade brings itself to Meursault s face and slashes at his eyelashes, of course, is
the point at which Meursault acknowledges that everything is beginning to reel.
Finally, under the influence of the sea s fiery breath and the sun s scorching attitude,
Meursault admits that the trigger gave when reminiscing on the death of the Arab

describe the negative actions, as he shoots the Arab four more times. At this point,
perhaps, he realizes his own fault within the situation as he continues to set himself in
place for the remainder of part one. The simple sentences in The Stranger reveal
Meursault s emotional detachment from society, while the more complex sentences
are assigned to objects with authority. Throughout the entire novel, Meursault s
simplicity and disinterest in the world can be identified with the incorporation of his
simple statements. Especially in this particular passage, Meursault finds it
unimportant to challenge himself in a way that makes sense. Although Meursault

18. The Dna And Its Structure
Genes hold biological information that must be copied accurately for transmission to
the next generation. Before the DNA double helix was discovered two biological
question were unanswered: how can information for specifying an organism be
carried in chemical form? and how is it accurately copied? It was not until the 20th
century when the DNAmolecule was discovered and suggested answers to both these
questions. (Alberts B, Johnson A, Lewis J, et al, 2002) With the help of many
scientists we now know exactly what the DNA molecule is, its structure, and its
function. The knowledge gained throughout the years on DNA has allowed many

This is the molecule that contains the biological instructions that make each
species unique. (Deoxyribonucleic Acid DNA, 2012) Deoxyribonucleic acid
(DNA) is the primary chemical component of chromosomes and is the material of
which genes are made of. It is also referred to as the molecule of heredity. This is
because parents transmit copied portions of their own DNA to their offspring
during reproduction (The DNA Molecule, n.d.). Before completely understanding
DNA it is important to look at the development of the study of DNA throughout the
years and finally look at the structure as well as what this knowledge now allows us
to do. The information of DNA is not something that scientists and others have
always been aware of. The knowledge in which we hold today is somethings that is
a product of multiple studies from multiple people who discovered different
aspects of the molecule. Such explanations of explorations of DNA are possible
because of the many scientists who paved the way. This began almost a century
before the Nobel Prize, in 1868, was awarded to James Watson, Franklin Crick, and
Maurice Wilkins. It was a young Swiss physician Friedrich Miescher who located
something no one had ever seen before from the nuclei of cells. He named this new

19. What Are The Similarities Between Baroque And Baroque
Eras
Introduction
European design has evolved over the centuries from the Renaissance era of the 15th
century to Baroque era of the 16th century right through to the Rococo era of the late
1700 s. Even though the style might have changed, some elements can be traced
across all three periods.
This essay will explore the similarities and differences in the aforementioned eras by
singling out 4 different examples from these eras and how these influenced or
affected the society and patrons who commissioned these artworks at that time.
Emphasis will be placed on specific examples that best demonstrate the style of each
era. The image examples used in this essay are firstly the ceiling of the Sistine chapel

After the peak of the Renaissance era of 1600 Rome, there was a move towards a
style that was more dramatic and celebrated the church and the elite. This style
melodramatically reaffirmed the emotional depths of the catholic faith and glorified
both the church and monarch (History of Art, 1933:284). Baroque is distinguished by
the grander sense of space in architecture, intense emotion and movement in painting
and sculpture. Opulence and grandeur is often displayed in the ostentatious interiors
homes of the elite and the church was highly decorated.
Some similarities between Baroque and Renaissance eras, is the strong use of light
and shade to create depth and realism.
The word Baroque derives from the Portuguese word barocco which seems to imply
an irregularly shaped or imperfect pearl. Which is quite ironic since Baroque design
was anything but imperfect.
Rococo
The style of the Rococo period can be characterised as being playful and
asymmetrical as opposed to that of Baroque. Though there are similarities between
the two stylistic periods, Rococo design is more ornate and motifs usually resemble
shells and stones and the intricate designs are often gilded with gold and other
precious metals. The colour palette is muted and emphasis is placed on the design

As the highly advanced and intelligent primates that human are, would you be okay
with confinement and being separated for a life time from loved ones? For many
years animal rights organizations have found an issue with a brilliant animal, like
Orca whales, being restrained solely for entertainment and revenue purposes.
Those fighting for the rights of animals have mainly placed their attention toward a
family entertainment company recognized as SeaWorld. Since their opening in
March of 1964, SeaWorld has become well known for being an aquatic theme park
bringing families together solely for an experience like no other, while creating an
educational purpose for knowledge of marine animals. With all of the issues that
have developed since SeaWorld s opening, confinement of orcas is what seems to
have everyone s attention. Their newly permanent tanks, mistreatment and or self
harm can only lead to stress from the orcas which has been recorded to result in
harm to their care givers. This has become an important issue because both sides
have found it difficult to come to an agreement on how this conflict can be resolved.
Can orcas in captivity become be a thing of today for entertainment and educational
purposes while keeping the safety and rights of orcas in mind? Despite SeaWorld
standing behind their kind treatment towards their orcas, animal rights activists
believe that statement to be false. In 1970, more than 90 orcas were stalked and
herded into a three acre net by

Sammie Jo, get up. We have to go drop dad off, I hear mom say from my door. I roll
out of bed with my doll, my brother is already in the living room. Dad has a big

The Policy
Transgender Soldiers serving in the US Military. In Army Directive 2016 35, Army
Policy on Military Service of Transgender Soldiers, it states that as long as a
Soldier is qualified for duty, he or she may be openly transgender without fear of
involuntary separation, discharge or denied reenlistment or continuation of service

The military will fund any medical care associated with a diagnosis from a military
medical care provider [who] indicates that gender transition is medically necessary
(Secretary of the Army, 2016).
Soldiers that suffer from gender dysphoria, upon diagnosis, will receive a medical
gender marker in their records to annotate their new gender. A medical procedure is
not necessary and only performed upon request of the Servicemember. Once this
diagnosis is received and recorded, the Soldier may take part in activities of that

25. The Book of Joshua
To fully grasp and understand the book of Joshua, it is important to take a look at the
historical and cultural context, understand the literary context, evaluate the text, and
find relevance in the passage.
The passage that will be focused on will be Joshua 10:16 27. This passage begins
with five Amorite Kings that are discovered and then trapped in a cave. The kings
hide in a cave in Makkedah. Joshua finds where the kings are hiding and then
proceeds to give instructions regarding what to do with the kings. They trap the kings
in the cave. Joshua proceeds to tell his troops to continue fighting. Joshua and the
Israelites defeat their enemies; there are few survivors left and the army returns to
their leader, Joshua. Joshua then uses the defeat of the five kings as an object
lesson for his commanders. They open the cave, in which the Kings are trapped in,
the kings are than named and brought out to Joshua. Joshua summons the men of
Israel and order to place their feet on the King s neck. The commanders do so and
Joshua tells his men, Do not be discouraged. Be strong and courageous. This is
what the LORD will do to all the enemies you are going to fight (verse 25). The
king s bodies are then exposed on poles and are left there until evening. At sunset
Joshua gave orders to take down the poles and throw them into the cave in which the
kings were hiding. They then placed large rocks in front of the cave to which are
there to do this day.

the purpose of this case was the sales data from our client`s lottery app. We will use
this information to calculate the mean absolute percentage error (MAPE) for the first
twelve months assuming the calculation for January represents its actual sales. Two

Eppur si muove, (but it does move) said Galileo Galilei. (Koyre 1943) The
scientific revolution marks a decisive break between the middle ages and the
modern world, but it was rooted in earlier developments. It s the link between
observation, experiment, and invention. The scientific revolution was not an
organized effort; theories sometimes led to a dead end and discoveries were often
accidental. The scientific revolution left a permanent imprint upon history and from
its legacy developed the colossal modern social orders of today. (Huff 1996)
Heliocentricity is a theory that places the Sun as the center of the universe, and the
planets orbiting around it. It s important because it is the belief that the earth is the
center of the universe. (Cole, et al. 2012) For many years, different philosophers
argued about what they believed was the center of the universe. Some had their ideas
revolve around the church and others had self opinionate ideas without any
integration of the church. Nicolaus Copernicus was an understudy of past onlookers
and a theoretician. He contemplated the watched movements of grand bodies in
connection to the acknowledged geocentric Aristotelian framework, which put the
earth at the focal point of the nearby planetary group, with the sun and planets in
circle. Copernicus perceptions drove him to infer that there was some kind of
problem with the geocentric hypothesis. He tried the speculation that the earth was

30. Women In The Coquette
The most interesting work that stood out to me in American Literature was by
Hannah Webster Foster The Coquette . This was the best worked, studied because it
is an excellent example of women s literature written during a period of American
History. The Coquette shows how women in the 18th century made a change on
whom society define the role of a woman. The words of Lucy to see a woman depart
so far from the female character, as to assume the masculine habit and attitudes; and
appear entirely indifferent, even to the externals of modesty, is truly disgusting, and
ought not to be countenanced by our attendance, much less by our approbation
(Webster 907). Lucy views on women deviating from traditional gendernorms are
just as harsh as those of utter by men. The Coquette was a novel that was based on
Elizabeth Whitman played through Eliza Wharton as a young, beautiful, smart, and
prone to flirtatiousness. She was soon freed from an engagement to a man she did
not loveand then later died of an illness.

an inestimable jewel, the loss of which can never be repaired. While retained, it
affords conscious peace to our own minds, and ensures the esteem and respect of all

31. Analysis Of Luther Man Between God And The Devil Essay
Luther Man between God and the Devil is wonderfully written book that was
authored by Heiko A. Oberman. The author of the book focuses on Luther s life
history with the overall purpose of discovering the under explored aspects of his life
lessons. Oberman hoped to link Martin s life with eternity and not a continuous
progress towards heaven inspired by the chaos in the last days of eternity (Oberman,
1989, 12). Heiko is conscious of the monumental time difference between Martin
Luthers death and the period he constructs the details which comprise this work.
During the author s time of researching the history, theology, and character of
Luther. We could argue that one of the over riding focuses of this book is that
Luther s poignant point of view for his life was symbolic of a struggle against the
devil, or at the very least our interpretation.
Background on Martin Luther
The story of Luther and the Reformation have been the topic of religious discussion
for
centuries. The Papal Authority played a pivotal role in European history, as did the
Protestant
Reformers. Luther s perspective on religious duty makes for an inspiring
conceptualization of
religion. The Papal Authority on the other hand had a monumental task of keeping
Catholicism
at the forefront of Europe while simultaneously defending it against the advancing
Turks.
As protestants we have a tendency to harshly judge the Catholic church for the selling
of
indulgence and for taking confession. Yet this

bacteria evolving and becoming resistant to the drugs that were fighting the bacteria.

aureus bacteria has developed strains that are resistant to Penicillin, Methicillin,
amoxicillin, and more antibiotics. There are even reports of strains that are
resistant to Vancomycin. If this development in MRSA continues, it is greatly
feared that we will run out of defenses against MRSA. However, doctors and
scientists are strategizing and researching to prevent the development of MRSA.
One strategy that is currently in clinical trial stages is the treatment of simple CA
MRSA cases with off patent antimicrobial medications. This will limit the MRSA
bacterias exposure to the more commonly relied upon medications and hopefully
reduce the chance of it developing more resistance. Current research may even
change how MRSA is treated in the future. Scientists are analyzing how the MRSA
bacteria works in attempts to develop new and better medications in its treatment.
Scientists have recently discovered Phenol Soluble Modulin (PSM) Proteins in
MRSA bacteria. It is believed that these proteins play a key role in the strength and
severity of MRSA infections. The PSM proteins destroy white blood cells and most
other immune cells. Without these cells the body cannot protect itself from MRSA.

it sounds extreme, this could be the near future of Americans if surveillance
programs continue to grow. Due to the many findings of Edward Snowden on the
flaws of surveillance programs, changes must be made to the NSA Domestic

the government keeps trying to hide things from its citizens, the relationship that they

NSA s current Domestic Surveillance Program must go through adjustments to meet

has become a very significant piece of social communications inside our society. For

parties who participate enjoy it. The theory of free labor and paid labor has been

were able to put the absurdity of these issues to the side and focus on the real impact
of true raw journalism, we can open our eyes and mind to the impact news has on all

that Apples couldn t be manufactured in America (Duhigg) The finds by this

36. Relationship Between Mathematics And Logic With Boolean
Logic
Almost everyone at some point their life has used a computer. Most people haven t
thought about how they work or operate. Those who have, often enter the field of
software development. The relatively new field of software development has many
advantages and opportunities, including good pay, and good opportunities to advance
in this wide open and quickly growing job field.
Programing has been around much longer than most people think. Some experts
consider the earliest programing was completed in France as early as 1804 by
Joseph Marie Jacquard. He used punch cards for a loom that predefined tasks for
the machine.( 1. Introduction to Software History. Introduction to Software
History. Web 7). Several years later, Charles Boole, a British mathematician proved
the relationship between mathematics and logic with BOOLEAN logic (binary) in
1847. (4) The only characters in BOOLEAN logic are 0 meaning false, and 1
meaning true. Although it will be nearly 100 years before BOOLEAN logic will be
used in computers, it was still a huge breakthrough. (11) Some advancements in
software were reinvented, due to the work not becoming public or prohibited from
becoming public.(6) Much like hardware, software was developed in large
distinguishable steps. (6) The first computer programs had one purpose, and the
hardware must be changed to run a different program. At first this is how computers
were developed. This all changed when John Von Neumann, working at the Institute

37. Life Of Working Women During The Years Of Women
In today s age women are the main suffers of medical conditions as well as
psychiatric problems. Women are constantly trying to maintain a balance between
work and family. They are prone to more stress due to the responsibilities they have
to balance. For many years psychologists have tried to understand the root cause of
the problem especially from a biological perspective. The general consensus amongst
them suggests that thyroiddysfunction may be an important factor to consider
especially in working women.
Life of working women
Over the years women have shown to be a successful gender. In the past women
had limited power and were submissive to the ideology of a housewife. Those who
chose to work were considered a bad influence for those women who were
submissive. Since then the female gender has adopted a more independent and
diplomatic overview of the working life. Today women make up half of the
workforce. Women today have acquired skills and capabilities of not just being a
homemaker but being at par with their male counterparts. This is the new
generation of women, who wants to pursue their dream career.More conflict arises
with the working mother. One has to fulfill the demand at work followed by
various demands at home. In today s scenario the husband and wife both work
towards creating a balance with their work life as well as at home with their
children. Her schedule is so tight she is as busy as an industrialist she wakes up in

38. A Study On Bacterial Transformation
Bacterial Transformation
Fiona Obas

U42 Abstract
DNA encodes the genetic instructions for cells to carry out their daily activities.
DNA can come in many forms; plasmids for example are small circular DNA
molecules found in most bacterial cells. Though plasmids may not be essential for
the life of bacteria, it can give cells resistance in foreign environments. For the
purpose of this experiment, an ampicillin resistant plasmid is introduced to E. coli.
This is done through a process of genetic engineering called transformation.
Transformation works through the uptake, incorporation, and expression of a
foreign gene to alter the genetic code of a cell. Three conditions are needed for
successful transformation: a host, a vector, and a technique to identify the
transformed cells. E. coli is used in this experiment as the host (E. coli is commonly
used in biotechnology due to its rapid rate of growth and short reproduction time). A
vector mediates the transfer of foreign DNA into the host cell. Plasmids are
commonly used vectors that will also be used in this experiment. The procedure of
tagging is used in this experiment to differentiate the transformed cells from those
that were not. The learning objectives of this experiment are to: observe the process
of bacterial transformation in an experiment; and demonstrate a change in phenotype
due to uptake and expression of the genes in a known plasmid.

The Holocaust was a genocide that occurred under Adolf Hitler s rule in Germany
where almost six million Jews were killed in camps and others were worked to
death which aimed to fulfill Hitler s idea of the purification of race. Primo Levi, a
survivor of the Holocaust wrote the book Survival in Auschwitz (to illustrate) the
system inside the camp and his experience as a prisoner. Capitalist modernity is the
combination of capitalism and the ideas of modernity. In a capitalistic modernized

In 1787, an English philosopher in the name of Jeremy Bentham came up with the
idea of panopticon. Panopticon is a set of societal practices that made people
submissive in a society. Panopticon is present in the concentration camps because
the prisoners did not try to escape or struggle against the SS. Levi states that this
unjust law is openly in forces [and] is recognized by all (88). There is a
relationship between panopticon and the normality of the camp which is unsaid
but the prisoners are always aware of that mysterious faculty (63). Being inside the
camp is somewhat the same as being part of a capitalistic modernized society in a
way that there are set laws that the government expects people to follow. People are
docile because they are aware that if they are caught doing an act that goes against
the law, they would have to deal with the state apparatus. Similarly, the prisoners are
aware that almost every move they make is monitored by an SS or is bound to be
noticed. Panopticon is another reason why there is normality in the

it is about the size of a chicken. Its scientific name, Leipoa ocellata, which belongs to
the Megapode family. The Malleefowl is a heavy bodied, ground feeding, egg

different from most birds is that they construct large nesting mounds and that the
parents do not care for their chicks after they are born. Being the only living speciesof

There is no information on disease in wild Malleefowl populations although it is
prone to many common diseases in captive situations. Likewise, there is no evidence
that chemicals used in agriculture are a threat, although the increased exposure may
cause certain diseases.
The Malleefowl habitat is being severely threatened. Much of the best habitat for
Malleefowl has already been cleared or has been converted into grazing by farm
animals and fire is also a major
41. Cultural Legacy Of The Middle Of Individuals And Spots...
Cultural Legacy is an outflow of the methods for living created by a group and went
on from era to era, including traditions, rehearses, places, objects, aesthetic
expressions, and qualities Cultural Legacy is frequently communicated as either
being Tangible or Intangible Tangible Cultural Legacy (ICOMOS, 2002). It can
likewise be a gathering of assets acquired from the past which individuals recognize,
freely of possession, as a reflection and articulation of their continually advancing
qualities, convictions, information, and customs. It incorporates all parts of nature
coming about because of the association in the middle of individuals and spots
through time.
Family tradition is something that everybody ought to esteem and see as an
essential piece of them. The purpose behind this is a man s family custom is a
piece of them; it is the very thing that has gotten them to where they are present.
The individual themselves may not regard or esteem their own particular past and
what has been passed on to them from their precursors however their guardians
must do like we read in Alive Walker s Everyday use. Family tradition is the history,
one of kind information, values and culture that have created by a blend of qualities
and environment after some time. Custom, whether it be national, cultural, our
family is a gift of interesting arrangements of chronicled information; however chief,
family tradition is one s history. It is in charge of how we came to be, it is an
42. Fourth Amendment To The Bill Of Rights
The Fourth Amendment to the Bill of Rights of the United States Constitution
states: The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and
effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no
Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation,
and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be
seized. The Fifth Amendment reads, in part, No person shall be...compelled in any
criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or
property, without due process of law.... The Fourth and Fifth Amendments provide
the foundation for the rights that protect all U.S. citizens from intrusive law
enforcement practices. When an officer violates your rights, all evidence that is

This law was passed because of the Civil Rights Act of 1871. The intent of this law
was to curb police officer misconduct for the individuals participating in vigilante
groups, an example would be the Ku Klux Klan. The statute is now called Section
1983 because of the published, within Title 42, of the United States Code. The
Section 1983 makes it unlawful for anyone acting under the authority of state law to
deprive another person of his or her rights under the Constitution or federal
43. Sex Trafficking Children
I want my mommy is a common phrase used by kids who are in emotional distress
and want to find comfort. To hear a child utter those words would be enough to
evoke empathy in most Americans. Unfortunately, while most Americans look at a
child as helpless, emotional, and pure, there is a darker side to the U.S population.
This demographic actively chooses to disregard a child s innocence and uses them
for their own personal needs: sex trafficking. Sex trafficking is the exploitation of
nonconsensual people that occurs throughout the United States and Globally.
Oftentimes the victims are subjected to threats, violence, and other forms of coercion
to compel their victims to perform commercial sex acts. The reason this is a problem
is that sex... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Supply and demand are usually the reason for every commodity. If the law doesn t
allow the item being demanded, a black market will be created ( Pearson Economy
Textbook 128 129 ). Child prostitution and trafficking has a demand, and because
that demand is present, a black market is created. Because it is illegal, there is a lot
of money to be made from children in sex trafficking. Tom Philpott, a former editor
of the Daily Texan, and History Professor at the University of Texas explains in his
documentary Boys for Sale that there are a few situations where child prostitution
and sex slavery can be influenced by the economy. It can influence the victim
themselves, or by pimps who organize young children for prostitution. Kids who
are on the streets are usually homeless, orphans or runaways that are trying to pay
for food and take care of their other siblings. They oftentimes resort to trading
sexual favors for food and money in order to survive. Pimps can step in and take
advantage of these children by organizing them between buyers. Offering children
food, shelter, and basic life necessities are the trade off pimps offer for children to
lure them in. Philpott goes on to talk about how young boys, in particular, are often
exchanged between high powered professions and people who hold prestigious
roles in society. This can make these illegal activities higher priced and place
victims at a higher risk of harm because of the illicit affairs high profile buyers
partake
44. Hero Vs Beowulf
There is a man walking down the sidewalk and, as he looks around, he notices a cat
stuck in a tree with a crowd of people staring at it. The man decides to help the cat,
and applause surrounds him. He basks in the attention. At the same time, a young,
girl walks through an empty hallway in her school. She heads around the corner to
see a boy being shoved into a set of lockers by a bully. She yells at the bully and he
runs. Nobody saw what she did, but all she needs to know is that he is alright. In
each of these cases, the hero has different motives: in the first, the man wants people
to see him rescuing the cat, whereas the girl wants to help the boy for the boy s sake.
Beowulfis a hero like the man, not the girl, making him undeserving of the title
because he acts for glory and pride, not just to aid others. Beowulf is a man who is
proud of his past deeds. Though this is not always a bad trait, Beowulf boasts
about the feats he accomplished when he was young and uses them to prove that
he is the best hero there is. Beowulf even states that he is not boasting, while
boasting: In our youth we boasted we were both of us boys / We would risk or
lives in the raging sea... Though I boast of it not! (18 19, 410 454). Immediately
after going on about how he swam for days in the sea and battled monsters when
nobody asked, he contradicted himself by saying he does not brag. Beowulf uses his
past triumphs to prove that he is strong and to prove that he will have many more
45. Monetary Policy Vs Fiscal Policy
Monetary Policy vs Fiscal Policy
There are two powerful tools that the government and the Federal Reserve use to
direct our economy in the right direction Fiscal Policy and Monetary Policy. When
these tools are used appropriately, they can fuel the economy and slow it down
when it is growing too fast. Fiscal policy is concerned with government spending
and collecting taxes. With the fiscal policy, you can increase government spending
and decrease taxes to increase disposable income for people as well as corporations.
Monetary Policy on the other hand refers to the supply of money which is controlled
by factors such as interest rates and reserve requirements for banks. These methods
are applicable in a market economy, but not in a communist or social economy.
Fiscal policy is often linked with Keynesianism (Michael Smith, Investpedia),
which is derived from British economist John Maynard Keynes. Theories of
Keynesianism have been used over time as they are popular and specifically
applied to assuage economic downturns. The principle behind fiscal policy is
influencing the level of aggregate demand in the economy to achieve economic
factors of stabilizing the price, full employment and economic growth. Fiscal Policy
is a government s decision regarding spending and taxing. If a government wants to
increase or restore growth in the economy, Spending rises. More items are purchased
in spite of sticky prices, because of this the firm increases output.

However, over 60 years of integration, a distinctive Pakistani culture has sprung up,
especially in the urban areas where many of the diverse ethnic groups have coexisted
and ithe country now having a literacy rate of 55%, up from 3% at the time of
independence. Traditional family values are highly respected and considered sacred,
although urban families increasingly form nuclear families, owing to socio economic
constraints imposed by the traditional culture of the extended family.
The past few decades have seen emergence of a middle class in cities such as
Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi, Hyderabad, Quetta, Faisalabad, Sukkur, Peshawar,
Sialkot, Abbottabad, and Multan. Rural areas of Pakistan are regarded as more
conservative, and are dominated by regional tribal customs dating back hundreds if
not thousands of years.
Pakistan s culture is again unique like the rest of the country. Pakistan s geography is
the meeting point of South Asia, Central Asia and West Asia/Gulf. Its culture could
be termed as a combination of sub continental, Islamic, Regional, English, and more
recently global influences. Let us consider them piecemeal. The newly born Pakistan
had to have a sub continental leaning, having been a part of for
47. On-The-Spot Assessment
Assessments are integral parts of instruction, they determine whether classroom
goals have been achieved, and help teachers know what areas they should focus on
and maybe reteach. They are great tools for developing lesson plans and answer
questions such as; do my students possess full understanding of the material?
There are many ways of assessing students learning, one of which I have personal
experience with are on the spot assessments. On the spot assessment is a method of
gathering on the spot information when observing students while they work
independently or in groups. (reference pg. 222) While working as a pre k teacher I
had access to ATI Galileo Pre k, this is an assessment technology that provides
assessments, and curriculum. The program provided a list of learning objectives
under several different learning scales. It was our job to do on the spot
assessments based on our observation list to document individual child s progress.
We would then input the assessments to the system and the program would develop
a lesson plan based on what each child had learned. It would also provide
specialized activities for children that were ahead or behind the classroom average.
On top of using on the spot... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These observations lists contained developmental goals in different learning scales
such as creative arts expression, language, literacy, nature science and so on. There
was a process to completing our observation list. The first time the student was
observed was after the introduction of a new concept. The second time would consist
of the completion of a different activity with the same concept and the third time was
the student using this new concept by him/herself. Only then would we be able to
indicate that the student had full understanding of the
48. Medication Barcode Scanning Essay
Medication Barcode Scanning (MBS) has been considered as one of the significant
ways of reducing medication error. It begins from when medication is ordered by the
doctor, a pharmacist reviews the order prior to supplying the medication to the nurse
who then administers the medication to the patient (Department Veterans Affairs,
2003)). Study stated that from about 450,000 drug adverse effect that occur yearly,
about 25% would be avoided with the use of certain technologies like medication
barcodescanning (Bates, Cullen Laird et al, 1995). According to Seibert, Maddox,
Flynn Williams (2014), technologies like automated dispensing cabinets,
computerized prescriber order entry (CPOE), smart computerized I.V. infusion pumps,

POC simply means scanning patient s medication at bedside before administering
medication. This enhances safe practice by making sure that the patients take the
right medication observing the five rights of medication administration (Waxlax,
2015). It is also important to note that medication with dosage formulation such as
insulin, medications in the form of ampules, ointments and creams, to mention but a
few need to be paid attention to as this will improve the practice of POC scanning
leading to error reduction during medication administration (Waxlax, 2015). For
instance medication in the form of ampules are titrated in the medication room. As a
result of not preparing the said medication at the patient s bedside, the nurse cannot
be able to scan the barcode because he/she does not have it at that time. To
accomplish the practice of POC scanning, butterfly flag labels with the appropriate
barcode, can be placed both to the ampule and the syringe so that when the ampule is
opened, then the nurse can take the label from the ampule and the syringe to the
patient s bedside for scanning before administering the medication (Waxlax,
