This document summarizes four important landscapes in Bulgaria - two natural and two cultural. The natural landscapes are Devetashka Cave, known for its long human occupancy, and Boyana Waterfall, the largest in Vitosha Mountain. The cultural landscapes are the Sofia Synagogue, an important Jewish site, and the Rila Monastery, the largest Eastern Orthodox monastery in Bulgaria founded in the 10th century.

Monument
 The Buzludzha
monument – or to give the
building its official name,
the ‘House-Monument of
the Bulgarian Communist
Party’ – was envisaged as
a symbolic meeting place
for the communist regime.

Bulgarian communist regime to
commemorate the events in
1891 when the socialists led
by Dimitar Blagoev assembled
secretly in the area to form an
organized socialist movement.
