In Coimbra, Portugal there are several annual fairs and festivals that celebrate the city's history and culture. The Medieval Fair features performances from circus artists and musicians dressed in medieval costumes. During the Rainha Santa Isabel Feast, the city venerates Saint Elizabeth and her devotion to the poor with two processions of her image and Gregorian chant masses. The Book Fair is held each April in Praça da República park, where visitors can find books of various kinds for sale.

3. Conferences, Mass with Gregorian chant and cultural
entertainment with circus
artists, musicians, jugglers, display of weapons and
different characters, cheer the Old Cathedral of Coimbra
for two days.

4. The City venerates the Holy Queen. Known for her great
devotion, she had great sympathy for the poor and
excluded. That’s why she is known as the Holy. The
highlight is the two processions and the image of the saint
being carried across the bridge to the Grace
Church, returning the following Sunday to its permanent
home at Santa Clara-a-Nova.
