This document presents a proposal for a new economic education program in Israeli schools called "Piggy Bank." The program would teach elementary and middle school students basic financial literacy and management skills. It aims to foster a generation of Israelis with values of modesty and saving. University students would teach the program in schools as part of a scholarship program. The goals are to improve economic thinking, prevent future financial hardships, and ultimately change economic behavior and reduce poverty in Israel. Similar existing programs are mentioned as examples. Potential funding sources and feasibility issues are also briefly discussed.
