Rural Youth
“Today’s youth represent a group with serious
vulnerabilities in the world of work. In recent
years, slowing global employment growth and
  increasing unemployment, underemployment and
disillusionment have hit young people hardest. As
a result, today’s youth are faced with a growing
deficit of decent work opportunities and high
levels of economic and social uncertainty”
MOST ESSENTIAL CAUSES
1) Long term employment tends to be common in rural than in urban areas,
however, rural labour markets are characterized by low skilled and insecure
     employment.
2) With rural employment being concentrated in small firms, opportunities for
young people to undergo training or to upgrade their skills are limited.
3) Many rural employers have a poor knowledge of the Government employment
schemes and programs. Those who are aware frequently feel unable to
become involved. Barriers to participation include an inability to meet
minimum training requirements or to provide access to external forms of
     training.
4) Poor or costly transport facilities restricted young people’s employment
     opportunities.
5) No government and Private sector Participations are available.
6) Poor Education system and infrastructure facilities.
“India's problem today is not
a shortage of jobs. It is a
              shortage of employable skills.
              Provide skills and they will
              create their own employment
              and self-employment
              opportunities.”
