Conceptions of geospatial information: implications for information literacy ...Maryam Nazari
According to Nazari's contextual methodological model emerged from her PhD study, people's conceptions and experiences of information in real-life contexts play a key role in illuminating competencies they need to effectively make sense of, and use information.
In this presentation, Nazari presents four conceptions of geospatial information as emerged from the conceptions of a group of GIS educators and students in a joint online distance learning GIS partnership programme in the UK and US.
Drawing on the conceptions, she presents several competencies identified in the context of each conception and discusses their implications for information literacy education.

Model of Geo/Spatial Information Literacy (MG/SIL): an innovative model for g...Maryam Nazari
This model has been contextually constructed on four main foundations as emerged from Nazari's exploratory case study of IL. These are: a and b) conceptions of geospatial information and GIS as emerged from the perceptions and experiences of GIS students and educators as well as from the context of the case i.e. from GIS module outlines and an analysis of other relevant documents such as the GIS curricula as well as the researcher's observations of the ODL environment of the case; c) nature and characteristics of GIS education; d) nature and process of problem solving geospatially.
This presentation introduces the MG/SIL as emerged "only" from the conceptions of geospatial information. So it does NOT present the final picture of the model.
This presentation aims to highlight the implications of the model for GI/S education and research in the particular context of the City University in London (UCL).

Information Literacy for Net GenerationMaryam Nazari
Considering the Open University (OU) as a context in which people come from a wide range of educational, cultural and professional backgrounds and distance learning forms the domain educational approach, this presentation discusses approaches can be taken by the OU to prepare for, and deal with the educational needs of Net generation, meanwhile meet the needs of elder generations.
It presents some practical assignments using Web 2.0 and demonstrate how they will engage students in developing their understanding of information literacy and performing as information literate individuals in the dynamic context of e-environments.
The proposed approach is based on the author's PhD study of information literacy in online distance learning environments, which particularly focused on the GIS (Geographic Information Sciences/Systems) discipline.

This document discusses various academic search tools including Google Scholar, Google Scholar Citations, and Microsoft Academic Search. It explains how to create an academic profile on Google Scholar Citations to track citations and publications. Advanced features of Google Scholar like citations, related articles, and alerts are described. Microsoft Academic Search is outlined as another option for finding academic publications and automatically computing author impact metrics, though it can incorrectly assign articles to authors.
1. "Push marketing" refers to marketing where information is pushed to consumers with little initiation from the consumer. It involves using sales and promotion forces to put products and services into distribution channels and exert pressure.
2. "Pull marketing" refers to marketing where heavy expenses are used to incentivize consumers and buyers, with the aim of creating demand so consumers request products through various distribution channels themselves.
3. A combination "Push and Pull" strategy uses both approaches appropriately to incentivize intermediaries, buyers, consumers and customers to increase the company's market share.
The document discusses push and pull marketing strategies. The push strategy involves creating a network of resellers, agents, brokers, and representatives to distribute products. It is suitable when a product is popular, for new products entering the market, or when a company has a tainted reputation. However, the document warns that using the push strategy means losing some control over sales and incurring costs of supporting resellers. درتعریف اهداف برنامه توسعه پایدار2015-2030،بر «تضمین آموزش در بر گیرنده با کیفیت» و ارتقائ فرصت های یادگیری مادام العمر برای همه شهروندان، تاکید شده است(اصل شماره 4)
کشورهای عضو، در قالب برنامه های توسعه ملی ونهادهای اجرائی در این کشورها، ملزم به سیاست گذاری های همگام با توسعه پایدار در چهار زمینه :انرژی،آب،محیط زیست ،و فرهنگ وآموزش،می باشند.

تحلیل نوع شناختی دوره های برخط آزاد انبوه بر اساس دیدگاه پداگوژیک
1- تایپولوژی هایی که باید تحلیل شوند را شناسایی کنید.
2 - داده ها را بخوانید و مدخل های مرتبط به تایپولوژی هایتان را نشانه گذاری کنید.
3- مدخل ها بر مبنای تایپولوژی بخوانید و ایده های اصلی مدخل را در یک برگه خلاصه ثبت کنید.
4- الگوها، روابط و مضمون های درون تایپولوژی را جستجو کنید.
5 - داده ها بخوانید، مدخل ها بر اساس الگوهای شناسایی شده کد گذاری کنید و رکوردی از اینکه کدام مدخل ها با کدام عناصر از الگوهایتان هماهنگ است را نگه دارید.
6- تصمیم بگیرد اینکه آیا الگوهای شما با داده ها پشتیبانی می شوند و داده هایی برای غیر مثال های الگوهایتان پیدا کنید.
7- روابط بین الگوهای شناسایی شده را پیدا کنید.
8- الگوهای خود را به صورت تعمیم های یک جمله ای بنویسید.
9- گزیده ای از داده ای را که تعمیم های شما را پشتیبانی می کنند، را انتخاب کنید.
