#12 There are three pillars of communicating with consumers today for retailers referred to as SoLoMo. That is, reaching out through social handle, determining current location by GPS, and using mobile for texting. The study asked consumers about their willingness to share these three elements of SoLoMo. Willingness to share current location via GPS nearly doubled from 2011 to 2013. And while we have no trend, we see nearly a third or more of respondents willing to share social handle or mobile number. For location, this question was asked without application, simply a willingness to share the information. But on page 13, we added the statement asking consumers if they would be willing to share this information with a trusted retailer
