Diffusion of Innovation is a theory developed by Everett Rogers in 1962 to explain how innovations spread through cultures. The theory states that innovations spread through a five step process of knowledge, persuasion, decision, implementation, and confirmation. The spread of innovations follows an S curve as early adopters are first to adopt, followed by the early and late majority, with laggards being the last to adopt.
