Demon s That Lay Awake In A Nightmare On Elm Street
Demon s that Lay Awake in Dreams Carmilla is the story of a lesbian vampire who has become
captivated with a young girl. She first meets Laura when she was 6. Carmilla puts Laura in a trance
like state that gave her the sensation that she was dreaming the meeting of Carmilla. A Nightmare on
Elm Street is a story about a small group of teenagers being haunted by an apparition, named Freddie
Krueger, which uses dreams as gateways into the real world. Freddie uses fear as a way of putting his
victims into a trance that prevents them from escaping similar to how Carmilla offers their deepest
desire. Carmilla uses the dream like state in order to suck her victim s blood, sometimes to the point of
death. Freddie uses it to outright kill and enact revenge for the parents who had indirectly caused his
death. Dreaming allows these two, supposedly, immortal creatures to thrive and accomplish their
goals. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

My Experience Of Teens
It is truly astonishing how much we, as teens in the 21st century, take for granted. We go through our
day, as if everything we do is a given right, rather than a privilege that we have. We don t ever stop to
think about how so much, could be taken away from us in an instant. It was Monday, June 5th, 2017. I
had just come back from an invitational hockey camp in Canada and I was up bright and early that
morning so that I could go to Westridge and take my last two finals of the year. By the time I had
gotten in the car, it was 7:20 in the morning, and I felt ready to take my finals. While in the car, my
mom was listening to KBS radio station. I wasn t completely listening, but from what I could hear, the
station was talking about a single engine plane crash in the Santa Rosa Valley that happened the other
day. They were just mentioning how the two victims in the plane crash were identified just as I was
getting out of the car. From there, I tried to clear my mind of everything and just reviewed the things
that I knew. I walked onto campus with my face inside a binder and although I knew the material, I
attempted to cram even more useless information into my brain. I stopped in front of my math
classroom when I felt my phone ringing inside of my crossbody bag, against my hip. I grabbed my
phone out of my bag to see that I already had 4 missed calls from one of my good friends, Miles
Brodey. Assuming that Miles would be calling me with a purpose, I adjourned my terse review

Case Study Unilever
This case study chronicles Unilever efforts at restructuring, divesting, acquisition, and general
streamlining of its worldwide operations. These operations, in 2000, encompassed 1,600 brands in 88
countries. These products are mostly food, personal care, and household products. Around that same
year, Co chairmen Niall FitzGerald and Antony Burgmans decided that Unilever needed to make some
rather drastic changes in order to remain competitive. More importantly that competitiveness was the
importance that the company maintained ever increasing profitability. The co chairs planned to bring
about this much needed change via institution of an ambitious 5 year plan. This plan was dubbed the
path to growth strategy. This 5 year plan ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This sharp decline supports their opinion. I hope that this decline is a byproduct of the expense of their
fairly recent acquisitions. I still think Unilever will prosper long term, but not as exponentially, nor as
quickly as management may have hoped. Market analysis s also raise a great deal of skepticism that
their can be any strategic compatibility between Unilevers food products and personal care/household
products divisions. Some would even suggest that they would be better off as two separate companies.
I strongly disagree with that opinion. The end consumers of the vast majority of Unilevers various
products will be doing so in the same place on the retail level. They will be buying them at
supermarkets and the super marts that they live in closest proximity to. Unilever is best served having
one distribution network in place to distribute its goods. Also, by remaining as one company, they
maintain greater leverage when negotiating for contracts, or purchases for all of their brands. For
example, if all of Unilever uses one carrier for over the road distribution in North America, they would
have greater leverage in negotiating more favorable transportation rates due to the volume the volume
they will be transporting. It is my opinion that Unilever is, overall, taking baby steps towards greater
profitability. I like the fact that they are being more selective about their brands and concentrating

Walt Disney s Influence On The Entertainment Industry
Walt Disney was a very influential man to the entertainment industry. He made animation a whole
new type of entertainment. Although Walt went through many struggles and problems, he pushed on
and eventually saw results for all his hard work. Many hardships got in Disney s way such as
unsupportive parents and even bankruptcy; Walt pushed on through, always creating, working hard,
and persevering to accomplish his dream. Walter Elias Disney was born on December 5, 1901, in
Chicago, Illinois. His father, Elias, was a carpenter when Walt was born. Eventually, Elias and his
wife, Flora, saved up enough money to start a home building company together. Walter had four
siblings: Roy, Herbert, Raymond, and Ruth (Russell 9). Because Ruth was younger than Walt, Walt
waited until the age of seven to start school so that he could start at the same time as Ruth. Before he
went to school, his mother, Flora, taught him how to read (Russell 10). Walt grew up on the Disney
family farm and worked hard on the farm. He worked at the neighbor s farm raising corn, wheat,
barley, cows, pigs, and chickens (Giltin 18). Later, Elias grew sick, and the Disney s had to sell the
farm. They moved to Kansas City (Russell 11). Throughout Walter s schooling, he loved to be on
stage directing, producing, and being on stage (Russell 11). Many things inspired Walt Disney s
creativity: moving, roaming, playing in the farmyard, fishing, doodling in class, and editing the school

Describe the Extent to Which Recent Reforms to Murder in...
Provocation was previously controlled under S2 of the homicide act 1957, the act stated where a
person kills or is party to a killing of another, he shall not be convicted of murder if he was suffering
from such abnormality of mind as substantially impaired his mental responsibility for his acts and
omissions in doing or being a party to the killing. The new defence S54 56 Coroners and Justice Act
2009 replaced defence of Provocation S3 Homicide Act 1957; it came into force October 2010.
There are three stages to proving loss of self control. Stage one is the defendant s actions (in doing or

of self control to be sudden however ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Clinton had financial problems and his marriage was breaking down as a result of this he was suicidal.
His wife told him that she had slept with 5 different people and also said to him it would be easier if
he committed suicide. He attacked her with a piece of wood and strangled her.
The third stage is a person of the defendant s age and sex with a normal degree of tolerance and self
restraint and in the circumstances of the defendant, might have reacted in the same or in a similar way
to the defendant. If age and sex is not relevant to the conduct then they do not need to be considered.
The normal person must be judged in the circumstances to which the defendant was in, all
characteristics are relevant other than those which stand on general capacity for tolerance or self
restraint for example being bad tempered. In Holley the defendant killed his girlfriend with an axe.
They both were alcoholics. She told him she had just had sex with another man, he picked up the axe
intending to leave the flat and chop wood, when his girlfriend said you haven t got the guts he hit her

How I Learned With My Life
After years of friendship I felt bold enough to start making suggestions, subtle hints that I thought he
needed professional help. I loved him and wanted nothing more than for him to be happy.
I had moved into town when Spencer was ten, right after he lost his older brother and the use of his
left hand in a car accident. When we first met he seemed so empty and vacant. His cold blue eyes
looked at the world in the way that a drowsy child looked at a television screen while watching late
night talk shows. It was as if he wasn t processing life as it happened around him, without him. We
bonded over our love for cartoons and our mutual belief that plain potato chips were superior to any
other lunch snack. In no time we were spending recess ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What did they say?
He sighed laboriously and shook his head, opening his mouth to speak and then pausing to close his
lips again. After a few repetitions of this odd ritual his eyes met mine, cautiously licking his lips, and
he began to speak.
We can t do this anymore. It s not healthy for me. I m sorry.
I looked at him, my previously joy filled face melted away into an expression of hurt confusion, brows
tugging together tightly and tears building up in my eyes as I tried to process exactly what he meant.
Do what?
This. The talking, the friendship, the love. It s not real.
But I love you, I bawled, slowly dragging the back of my hand along my cheek to clear my face of
tears, leaving a damp streak in its path .
I love you too, that s the problem. None of this is real.
Of course it s real! You are my whole world.
I know.
His head hung low and shook again before he walked away, dragging his beat up sneakers along the
cracked sidewalk. Desperately, I began to chase after him but found myself unable to gain any actual
speed. As if I were in a dream, I was no longer in control of my interaction with the physical world.
The harder I tried, the slower I moved. Frantic and confused, I looked down to my feet which, to my
surprise, were becoming increasingly transparent with each passing second. I quickly threw my head
back up to look at Spencer, eyes wide and bulging in petrified hysteria.
Please... What s happening? Spencer, come back!

Nanotechnology And Its Effects On The Field Of Drug...
Nanomedicine, the application of nanotechnology in medicine has attracted a great deal of attention in
the field of drug delivery and tissue engineering over the past few decades. This increasing interest in
nanomedicine is driven by its potential to revolutionize the treatment of some prevalent global disease
such as cancer, cardiovascular disorders, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and diabetes in safer and
more effective ways [1, 2]. Nanotechnology refers to the engineering of materials at the atomic,
molecular, and supramolecular levels in at least one dimension from 1 100 nanometers [3]. The
manipulation of matter at the nanoscale to fabricate materials with modified and new properties is a
rapidly growing field of research with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The latter refers to the targeted drug delivery, which is a key aspect of nanomedicine. Targeted
delivery is to deliver therapeutic agents in the right concentration, in the right time to the right site.
The idea of targeted drug delivery is not new and dates back to 1906, when for the first time Paul
Ehrlich disseminated the concept of a magic bullet [14]. Almost after a century researching on targeted
drug delivery, the magic bullet is still a challenge to implement in the clinic. The challenge involves
finding the appropriate therapeutic agents, targeting moieties, and pharmaceutical carriers [15]. An
ideal pharmaceutical vehicle would be biocompatible, biodegradable, non toxic and non
immunogenic. In addition, it should not be recognized by the host s defense

Soft Drink Industry Case Study
1. Why, historically, has the soft drink industry been so profitable? There are several reasons why the
soft drink industry has been so profitable. One reason is because these soda companies directly
distribute to stores that sell their product. They do a good job in avoiding a middle man which would
cost a lot more. Instead, they handle all the packaging and bottling before the soda gets to the shelf so
they don t have to pay those extra costs associated with a middle man and keep all that profit. Also,
carbonated drinks are cheap to produce and have a high profit margin. Every aspect of the making and
bottling process is inexpensive so it makes it very easy to turn a profit. This is the same for both
bottles and fountain sales. For the fountain all you have to do is install the fountain and then refill it so
it is inexpensive. Another way they are profitable is because these soda companies have contracts with
stores making it impossible for competitors to sell their version of CSD s in the same location. They
put the contracts in place in order to avoid another company selling and taking their profit and also so
the stores and restaurants won t make it competitive for them when it doesn t have to be. These soda
companies also do a great job of sponsoring events in which helps promote their products which in
turn drives profit. These soda companies also partner with certain locations in order to offer incentives
if you buy the sodas. For example, if you buy a ticket to a

Analysis Of Laura Mulvey s Film, Visual Pleasure And...
Katlyn Riggins
WGST 343: 500
Fall 2015
Topic Number 4
Women in film are often portrayed in a manner deemed pleasurable to the male viewer. Laura Mulvey
takes this concept and dissects it within her article Visual Pleasure and Narrative Cinema. Mulvey
references the term male gaze, wom[en] displayed as sexual object[s] is the leitmotif of erotic
spectacle: from pin ups to strip tease, from Ziegfeld to Busby Berkeley, she holds the look, and plays
to and signifies male desire (Mulvey 40). Because of this interpretation it is relevant to examine
different forms of media, such as films, to establish if the male gaze is present. Furthermore, it is
appropriate to analyze films directed by women to identify the male gaze, due to their unique
interpretation of female character s visual representation. In the essay that follows, it will consider
Girlfight and Dance, Girl, Dance to analyze how two separate female filmmakers, Karyn Kusama and
Dorothy Arzner respectfully, challenge the theory of the male gaze, along with comparing and
contrasting the methods in which such challenges were made, and finally it will address how any
filmmaker may object the male gaze.
Within the film Girlfight, director Karyn Kusama presents the audience with a strong female
protagonist. Actor Michelle Rodriguez debuts her career portraying the lead role of Diana and gives
the audience a unique interpretation of the character. We first see the heroine, through a crowd of
teenagers walking

The Devil In The White City Character Analysis
Throughout history, pride and determination have motivated people to do amazing things. In The
Devil in the White City, Erik Larson proves that pride and determination aided the creation of The
World s Columbian Exposition.
The Devil in the White City is a novel that covers the creation and construction of the 1893 World s
Columbian Expo. The novel contains two plot lines. The first plotline follows Daniel Burnham. Near
the beginning of the book, Burnham is left alone to work on the project after the death of his partner,
John Root. Through the rest of the novel, Burnham faces many obstacles that threaten the creation of
the World s Columbian Expo. Despite the challenges that he faced, Burnham persists, and the World s
Columbian Expo opened in 1893. After the fair began, Burnham faced many new challenges, such as
turning a profit in a suffering economy. Despite all the obstacles that Burnham faces, Burnham created
a successful fair that pays off its debts and turns a profit.
The second plot line within Devil in the White City follows H.H. Holmes. Holmes buys a pharmacy
within Chicago and constructs a building that aids him in killing people and disposing of their bodies.
The first floor of Holme s building acts as a front, a pharmacy, while the top two floors act as
apartments for rent. These apartments have secret passages, hallways, and chutes that lead to the
basement, making disposing of dead bodies convenient for Holmes. After Jackson park is announced

Experiential Learning
CHAPTER I THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND Introduction Knowledge results from the
combination of grasping (observation) and transforming reflections into action (concrete experience)
(Kolb, 1894). Nursing is a practice profession. Clinical experience in the clinical setting is the integral
part of the total education process for nursing students. (Estrella Cuarezma Sanchez, 1998) The
clinical exposure of a student nurse is an experience that is not to be taken for granted. It is as
important (if not more so) than the classroom lectures. In the field, the student nurse is allowed to

Sheth (2008) sighted that private hospitals possesses centralized care. Therefore, student nurses are
exposed to a conducive learning brought by ideal nursing practice exhibited in the health care setting.
In the said type of hospital, Colladilla and Argos (2000) claimed more opportunities available both
professionally and personally for its staff. Thus, student nurses in return could profit from it. Also,
these hospitals are equipped with well maintained facilities, highly technologic equipment and
complete medical supplies. (Johns, 2000) Thus, familiarization begins and would further evolve to
learning. Adequate manpower plus limited handled patients could provide a centralized care.
However, there are also disadvantages. Limited assignments are given to student nurses because they
make sure they give quality care to patients due to patient s payment for services rendered. There are
strict norms associated with providing health care interventions. Herewith, staffs nurses have
significant liability to their patients. They can not afford to make mistakes. That is why, unlike in
public hospitals, students learn more through observation of the different procedures done in the
hospital. Public hospital provides culturally competent care (Vaknin, 2008). In public hospitals,
student nurses learn from actual experience. They can assume

(Nishadha, 2015) Both definitions are attempting to pass on the same message, it may appear to be
inverse in light of the fact that the first definition is discussing the shortest duration whilst the second
definition is discussing the longest way. Notwithstanding, they are both the same. In this project, the
critical path is the A + B + C + G + I + J = 3 + 4 + 4 + 2 + 2 + 1 = 16 days which consists the activities
of pouring the foundation which takes 3 days; building the frame takes 4 days as well as placing the
roof; setting the rough in frame takes 2 days as well as painting the garage; and clean up takes 1 day.
To sum up, the duration of the project would take 16 working days, which means that there will be a
deduction of $100 from the $500 bonus due to the one day extra work. Having 3 days of delay in
electrical can affect the whole project. Therefore, the negotiation of 15 working days would exceed up
to 18 days, which could cause the penalty of $300 ($100 per extra day). In order to minimise a project
s critical path, sequencing of tasks should be changed. On the off chance that one can do a project s
tasks in alternate grouping to that initially proposed, one might have the capacity to shorten the critical
path. A level of intricacy by striving for shortening the critical path, which is primarily hazardous, is
unavoidably acquainted with the task. (Aydar, 2014) With a specific end goal to convey this shorter
timescale, the critical path should be controlled

Plato much believed that the civilization of Atlantis existed (Writer873). The origins of Atlantis are
written in Plato s Critias and Timaeus (Plato). Written around 350s B.C., the main character Solon,

Atlanteans were far more advanced than any civilization during their time, not to be mistaken with
Atlanteans being more advanced than any civilization during our time. Atlantis culture is explained in
Critias by a great amount within it s pages and it is extraordinary how the people behaved so civil and
orderly back then. The first thing the reader will learn in reading Critias is Atlantis is ancient, ancient
as in 9000 years (Plato). It s no wonder Atlanteans became far more advanced than Athenians and
other neighboring ancient cities. The empire had time to form a stable society and conduct new ways

The Post War World War II
The post war world was one of complete ruin. More than 40 million Europeans died and at least 25
million of them were civilians that had been killed in bomb raids, concentration camps, and during

remained of many homes. Because of all of the distress, thousands of people all turned to their
governments for assistance. Unfortunately for almost everyone in Europe and Japan, their
governments had all failed. Thus, a lot of their problems were rightfully blamed on their governments.

enticing offer, but in the end, it wasn t enough. To summarize, I think Europeans favored communism
because it would have provided them with necessities that they were lacking, it gave them a sense of
order and structure, and it offered them change. Section 5: Question 7: After the war, the Allies wanted
to make sure that any and all war crimes were avenged. It was now that the Nuremberg Trials began.
This was where the leaders of both the Nazis and the Japanese were sentenced based on the degree of
their offense or crime. As a whole, I think that it was right for the Allies to try only the Nazi and
Japanese leaders. If we had tried those who were supporting them, although they are equally guilty, it
would have been quite difficult. After all, if it weren t for the leaders it probably never would have
happened. The first reason to justify only trying the leaders is that

Introduction
Transit oriented development (TOD) is a mixed use residential or commercial area intended to
maximize access to public transportation. Such neighborhoods often consist of a center with a public
transit station, bounded by high density growth with gradually lower density development spreading
outward from the center. TODs or transit zones are typically located within a radius of one half mile
from a transit station, as this is generally considered a reasonable walking distance for pedestrians.
However, geographic proximity alone does not make development transit oriented. Indeed, many
developments can be said to be transit adjacent (i.e. within close physical proximity to transit) but not
necessarily designed to promote access and use. On contrary, TOD creates a thrilling community
centered on transit access and reduced automobile dependence. As such, a pedestrian friendly
environment is critical to TOD, but is not essential to transit adjacent development. ... Show more

So , they discourage a person s self dependency and endorse transit use, thereby enabling traffic
crowding, improving air quality, and limiting carbon discharges. A TOD neighborhood
characteristically has a center with a train station, metro station, tram stop, or bus stop, enclosed by
comparatively high density development with increasingly lower density development spreading away

Constantine s Persecution Of The Edict Of Milan
Today the Christianity is the world s largest religion, with over 2.4 billion followers, or 33% of the
global population. But Christians were throughout its first three centuries subject to persecution by
some Jewish and Roman religious authorities, When Constantine was the Roman Emperor, he made a
significant decision which to cease the persecution of Christians in the Roman Empire was a turning
point for Early Christianity, its decision also called Edict of Milan, the Edict of Milan end it in 313
AD, it was made Christianity legal. Constantine s tolerance and acceptance of Christianity paved the
way for its rapid spread throughout the Roman Empire and Europe, Christianity becomes the largest
religion from then on.

Its followers, like other polytheists, are free to engage in religious activities. Clergy have gained some

Constantine supposedly converted to Christianity in 312, he wasn t baptized until on his deathbed 25
years later, Constantine s personal life did not reflect that he had been converted to Christianity, he
was a cruel and corrupt emperor, and was also cruel to his family. His life was rather decadent. If
Constantine was as a tree, then from his fruits of conclusion, he is not yet touched by the love of God,

Art Comparison Paper
In this paper, I will describe, compare, and contrast two paintings of the same name, The Annunciation
by Gerard David and Joos van Cleve. Beginning with Joos van Cleve s work, we see the virgin Mary
kneeling down before an opened book. An illuminated dove with its wings spread is suspended above
Mary. An angel is standing beside her, making a gesture. Both figures are inside an ornately decorated,
well lit bedroom. Mary is wearing a large, dark blue robe that rests upon the floor as she kneels. A
portion of it is suspended onto the stand from which she reads a book. The book s pages are opened in
an unrealistic manner, with a few pages seemingly stuck in one position. What little of her figure that
is visible is oddly proportioned, with a plump ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Above the bed s pillows is a circular fixture, possibly a mirror. A white, decorated vase is in front of
the bed, laying on the ground. Two tall, white flowers are set within it. Beside the bed is a green, gold
trimmed chair with a red cushion. Above the chair is a dove with its wings spread, it is surrounded by
a gold halo. Just above the dove is a depiction of a horned figure with a halo. To the left of the
depiction is a gold chandelier that is styled in a similar manner to the angel s scepter. Behind and to
the left of the chandelier is an ornate diptych, only one of the panels are revealed. Inscriptions are
below the diptych. A wood furnishing bearing intricate carvings supports the diptych, a white cloth
rests on its surface. Below it is a metal plate and cup, a cloth resting on it. Beside the furnishing and
diptych is an opened window, each of the opened panels attached to it in varying positions. A city is
outside the window. Beside the window is a lit candle which is attached to the wall by a gold support,
a decorative gold plate behind it. The room s floor is made up of faintly colored tiles arranged in

London Ambulance Service Of A Computerized System
LONDON AMBULANCE SERVICE COMPUTER AIDED DISPATCH SERVICE FAILURE London
Ambulance Service (LAS), as the name suggests is a medical emergency service for dispatching
ambulances and operating in London. In October 1992, the LAS switched from their prior manual
system to a computer aided dispatch (CAD) system. However, a lot of flaws led to this system s
failure. The software engineering process from my perspective and my approach for handling such a
project is illustrated below:
REQUIREMENTS GATHERING AND PLANNING
What happened:
The funding for the development of a computerized system was done in 1974; however the
development remained stagnant for a long period of time until the 13 years later, when the first system
was developed. This ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Lack of informing the stakeholders the risks of the project, absence of communications with all the
involved stakeholders, misunderstanding of the software process by the software manager and the
software developers also. This affected the requirement gathering, planning, documentation as well as
the implementation.
My approach:
The fundraisers, in this case the LAS management, should be made aware of the pros and cons of
meeting their requirements. The software managers who play an important role can correctly estimate
these factors based on their experience. Hence if I was in charge of choosing the software managers
and the company, I would prefer a company at with experience at the cost of cheaper software, taking
into consideration that delivering a flawless product is more important than a flawed inexpensive one.
The cost of people s lives can t be put to stake in this case. If I was on the other side of receiving a
contract for the development of a system with limited resources in terms of hardware, time and
money, I would try to present the risks of implementation according to the impossible requirements. If
System Options, the company that rejected the deal, presenting the risks of doing so, just like the other
companies, then the stakeholders, who had little idea of the cost of their requirements, would have
reconsidered their funding or the stringent requirements and the root cause of the disaster would have
been avoided. DOCUMENTATION

Plato s The Socratic Method
Plato wrote nearly 30 dialogues, most of which focused on his predecessor, Socrates. His earlier works
focused on Socrates Theories, or the Socratic method, while his later works focused on his own laws
and Xenophon s Hiero. Some of Plato s dialogues include the Meno, Symposium, Republic, and the
Phaedo. The Socratic method is a form of inquiry and discussion between individuals based on asking
and answering questions to stimulate critical thinking and to generate ideas. This paper is going to
focus on a few of Plato s earlier works and how they incorporate the Socratic method, versus his later
works that seem to go in a different direction all together. First, it is important to understand that the
Socratic method is a dialectical method that often involves discussion between people in which one
person questions the defense of a point of view; many times the person defending his point of view
may contradict himself, which gives the opposition a stronger defense. For example, Socrates would
use a simple question to begin many of his teachings, such as Is the pious loved by the gods because it
is pious, or is it pious because it is loved by the gods? As an alternative example, are actions right, or
wrong, based only on the authority s approval of said actions? Socrates used this method many times
to secure his point of view. Although Socrates wrote nothing down, therefore not allowing us to truly
study his point of views or his teachings, we can assume that most of

Impact Of Reconstruction On African Americans
How Reconstruction Helped African Americans Achieve the American Dream
INTRO
Body Paragraph number 1(NO argument)
Reconstruction did not help African Americans move closer to the American Dream. Even though
there were positives, there were also negatives. Due to Reconstruction, hate groups started, there was
not any safety for African Americans, and the Black Codes or Jim Crow laws. One of the most
infamous hate groups to rise was the Klu Klux Klan. KKK for short. African Americans were
terrorized by this group. They are responsible for many hangings, burnings, and other horrors that
were inflicted upon African Americans. Also, there was not any safety from the groups. It was not like
being in the center of a city was going to help. There are unfortunately many pictures of African
Americans being hanged in very populated areas. Also, there was the rise of Black Codes(Jim Crow
laws). It is like how the saying goes, out of the frying pan and into the fire. Some of the codes, but not
limited to, was the Grandfather clause, which basically said that if your grandfather could not vote,
you cannot vote. There were also many other ways that African Americans were restricted from
voting. There was poll tax, and unfair evaluations of voting tests. This also included segregation of
schools (separate but equal). There was even a law forbidding a white person from marrying a black
person. However, even though all of these horrific things came because the end of slavery,

The Role Of The Church In The Catholic Church
The role of the Catholic Church going to the peripheries is huge for the community. First off, the
Catholic Church helps those in need by donating to people who don t have shelter, or people who don
t have food or water to drink. They also help by holding volunteer work, so people who want to help
those in need can by being there. Another thing the Catholic Church does to help those in need is
praying. Some people get together to help those in need by asking the Lord to help them. Others pray
for them by themselves to help for those in need. The Catholic Church is very generous for being there
when people are in need. The Catholic church greatly represents the Spiritual and Corporal Works of
Mercy. They would help feed the hungry by bringing goods to those who need it. The Church can give
drink to the thirsty by not wasting water. The Catholic Church helps people to shelter the homeless by
collecting supplies they need. They can clothe the naked by donating clothes to those who don t have
enough. The Church can visit the sick and imprisoned giving blood and spending time volunteering at
nursing homes. They bury the dead by sending a card to to someone who has lost a loved one. Finally,
the Catholic Church give alms to the poor by donating money, like a the poor box in the Church. The
Spiritual Works of Mercy can also represent the Catholic Church helping those in need. Overall, the
Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy really represent how the Catholic Church helps those in need,
and the Church is a good role model for all Catholics alike.
Pope Francis is a widely known current Catholic who went to the periphery. Pope Francis has helped
those who are suffering and those who are in need all the time. Pope Francis has helped and has done
many things to comfort and help those struggling. An example of Pope Francis doing this is his trip to
Philadelphia. While he was there, he visited and did many things. One thing that was very special was
on the last day of his trip. He was offered a nice dinner and a good place to eat. However, he decided
he wanted to visit Philadelphia s largest prison and spend his meal there while he was there, he gave a
speech. This probably really touched the prisoners and made them feel

Joe Diffie Research Paper
Joe Diffie entered a crowded field of talented, good looking male country vocalists in early 1990;
despite the competition, the clever lyricist with what People called a booming tenor and wide open
vocal range achieved stardom in a very short time, racking up an unprecedented series of chart
successes. His appeal was due in great part to his ability to cross the boundary separating traditional
country vocal styles from the pop and rock influenced sound that has increasingly come to dominate
Nashville s musical output. Diffie is also versatile, a quality developed over years of diligent
apprenticeship in several areas of the music business.
Born in Duncan, Oklahoma, in 1958, Diffie had musical ambitions from a tender age. He has an early
memory of his father listening to a record by country music giant George Jones and saying that
nobody else could sing like that. And I thought, I can, Diffie recalled. When I got a little older, I was
one of those guys who knew every dad gum song on the radio and would run people crazy singing
them all, he told Bob Allen ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Country Music s Rich Kienzle felt the album took Diffie further into that idiom where he shows the
gutsiness that many younger singers never quite catch. It s New Traditionalism without compromise,
but music that fans of certain more modern sounding singers can enjoy as well. Attitude sported up
tempo numbers worthy of lively line dances, a modern take on hillbilly boogie of the 1940s and 50s,
and sensitive, evocative and totally believable ballads and story songs. Kienzle praised Diffie s wit
and sharp imagery throughout his critique and concluded, Diffie s found a focus and a strength here ....

Analysing the Financial Performance of Domestic Dog Homes
In this part of my report, I will explain in depth how these ratios are used to monitor the financial state
of Domestic Dogs Homes. I will also assess the company s performance generally.
Part 3: Analysing the financial performance of Domestic Dog Homes
Profitability ratios
Gross Profit Margin:
This ratio is used to assess a company s financial performance by revealing the money left over from
the revenues. Gross Profit Margin also serves as the source for paying additional expenses and future
savings.

percentage of gross profit which means that the company is doing well and will be able to control the

Thus, this ratio helps a business to get rid of bad debts. According to the balance sheet of Domestic
Dog Homes, the debtors have 9 days to pay back to the company which is good as the business would
be able ton get its money back quicker and make the necessary changes to get rid of bad debts.
Conclusion: Overall it seems that Domestic Dog Homes is financially in an unstable state as it is either
performing reasonably well in order to survive or it is not doing so well is particular areas, e.g. current
ratio and asset turnover.
Part 4: the advantages and limitations of using Ratios
There are several advantages and disadvantages of using ratios to assess and monitor the financial
state of Domestic Dog Homes and they are: The ratios forecast the future: They indicate whether
Domestic Dog Homes will be able to pay its debts and whether it will be able to survive. For instance
the current ratio gives the company an insight of whether it will have enough money to pay back its
debts and whether it will have to gain more money in order to cover the costs of its expenses as well
as its debts. However the disadvantage of this is that these ratios focuses on specific areas of the
company s financial state and does not look at the overall performance hence it is the duty of
Domestic Dog Homes to check whether it is progressing overall. Strengths and weaknesses: The ratios
also point out the strengths and weaknesses of a

Similarities Between The Rome And The Han Dynasty
The Han Dynasty and Imperial Rome were two greatly advanced civilizations for their time period
and their success was no fluke. Both dynasties gained their success through a handful of varying ideas
and strategies involving the economy, military, and social structures. However, one of the greatest
factors that determined the respective dynasty s futures was their methods of political control. The
Han Dynasty and Roman Empire agreed on some major aspects and ideas of politics, but also had
diverging views on a few subjects. For example, one major topic both groups disagreed on is the form
of government. Some examples of subjects they both agreed on was the focus on infrastructure and
trade. One thing that most major political states throughout history can agree on is the importance of
trading, not only within the state but with outside states as well. Both the Roman Empire and the Han
Dynasty were large participants in trade, not only within their states but with outside states as well.
The Han Dynasty exemplifies this by showing their great amount of effort to get involved in the Silk
Road. The Han Dynasty went to the extent of expanding the wall into the route of the Silk Road.
Metaphorically speaking, this is the Han Dynasty s way of sticking their foot in the Silk Road and
regional trade. This was first done in the Han Dynasty because the leaders knew the necessity for trade
and its power to keep their government and society thriving.
The Romans were also greatly

Baseball Winter Is Not Far Behind
I had met Joe Macintosh during the summer of 1956. Joe ran the Dairy Queen in the heart of the Great

Division is known for two seasons, summer and winter. Hand me down truisms from generation to

The Eastbound passengers, after spending hours cruising east of the Rocky Mountains with only
wheat fields and as far one could see, surely were asking one another, Why anyone would live here
and what do they look like? By the time, the Westbound arrived in Havre; the look from the dome car
passengers was one of quizzical awe. Rising from their dome car seats and looking out the windows
the passengers were straining to get a glimpse of a brochure promised mountain any mountain. The
brochures didn t mention much about the thousand miles of Great Plains from Fargo, North Dakota to
Cut Bank, Montana. It would be six more westbound hours, before those mountain views appeared.
Like a shy bride, the residents of Havre did not flock to see the arrival each noon. Not unlike the shy
bride, if folks were near the depot, most would not hesitate to take a quick glance at the train trying to
make sense out of the depot activity. Years ago, Havre prided itself at having everything you need; that
is to say, one of everything you need. Except for banks and bars, the Havre business community
unspokenly seemed to frown on businesses that might want to come in and offer competition to an

Management Is The Process Of Human Resource Management
Question Two. Management is the process of managing the organizational resources: financial
resources, information resources, physical resources, and human resources. It is important to mention
that the proper usage of other resources depends on the human resources. The success or failure of the
company depends mostly on the capability of its people. The main responsibility of the human

human resources during organizational change is very difficult and complex. Human resources

Affirmative Action Curbed in California Essay
LOS ANGELES, JUNE 1 California Gov. Pete Wilson (R), vowing to lead a growing conservative
movement to end three decades of racial and gender preferences as an antidote to discrimination,
today signed an executive order abolishing a wide range of affirmative action programs affecting
hiring and contracting in state agencies.
Wilson, who is seeking the Republican presidential nomination, eliminated or sharply cut back scores
of affirmative action policies or programs that are not mandated by state or federal laws or that exceed
those laws. He also abolished 118 boards and commissions created to advise state agencies on ethnic
and gender diversity issues.

By itself, it doesn t complete the change we must make. Special preferences remain embedded in state
and federal law. I vow to fight for changes in those laws, quot; Wilson said.
Sean Walsh, the governor s press secretary, said Wilson is the first governor to roll back affirmative
action programs. He said the order would affect all of the state s approximately 150,000 full time job
positions. According to the California State Employees Association, about 60 percent of the state
government work force is white, 16 percent Hispanic, 12 percent black, 6 percent are Asian and the
remaining 6 percent from other groups.
Wilson s action appeared designed to capitalize on public dissatisfaction with minority preference
programs and on a backlash against what is characterized as quot;reverse discrimination, quot; while
at the same time setting him apart from the eight other contenders for the GOP presidential
nomination, none of whom are sitting governors. It comes a day after senior White House officials
said President Clinton is still weeks or even months away from completing a review he has ordered of
federal affirmative action programs.
Wilson already had announced his support of a proposed 1996 state ballot initiative that would go
further than today s order by abolishing affirmative action in all state hiring, contracting and
university admissions practices. At least six other states

She first meets Laura when she was 6. Carmilla puts Laura in a trance like state that gave her the sensation that she was dreaming the meeting of Carmilla. A Nightmare on Elm Street is a story about a small group of teenagers being haunted by an apparition, named Freddie Krueger, which uses dreams as gateways into the real world. Freddie uses fear as a way of putting his victims into a trance that prevents them from escaping similar to how Carmilla offers their deepest desire. Carmilla uses the dream like state in order to suck her victim s blood, sometimes to the point of death. Freddie uses it to outright kill and enact revenge for the parents who had indirectly caused his death. Dreaming allows these two, supposedly, immortal creatures to thrive and accomplish their goals. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 5. My Experience Of Teens It is truly astonishing how much we, as teens in the 21st century, take for granted. We go through our day, as if everything we do is a given right, rather than a privilege that we have. We don t ever stop to think about how so much, could be taken away from us in an instant. It was Monday, June 5th, 2017. I had just come back from an invitational hockey camp in Canada and I was up bright and early that morning so that I could go to Westridge and take my last two finals of the year. By the time I had gotten in the car, it was 7:20 in the morning, and I felt ready to take my finals. While in the car, my mom was listening to KBS radio station. I wasn t completely listening, but from what I could hear, the station was talking about a single engine plane crash in the Santa Rosa Valley that happened the other day. They were just mentioning how the two victims in the plane crash were identified just as I was getting out of the car. From there, I tried to clear my mind of everything and just reviewed the things that I knew. I walked onto campus with my face inside a binder and although I knew the material, I attempted to cram even more useless information into my brain. I stopped in front of my math classroom when I felt my phone ringing inside of my crossbody bag, against my hip. I grabbed my phone out of my bag to see that I already had 4 missed calls from one of my good friends, Miles Brodey. Assuming that Miles would be calling me with a purpose, I adjourned my terse review ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Case Study Unilever This case study chronicles Unilever efforts at restructuring, divesting, acquisition, and general streamlining of its worldwide operations. These operations, in 2000, encompassed 1,600 brands in 88 countries. These products are mostly food, personal care, and household products. Around that same year, Co chairmen Niall FitzGerald and Antony Burgmans decided that Unilever needed to make some rather drastic changes in order to remain competitive. More importantly that competitiveness was the importance that the company maintained ever increasing profitability. The co chairs planned to bring about this much needed change via institution of an ambitious 5 year plan. This plan was dubbed the path to growth strategy. This 5 year plan ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This sharp decline supports their opinion. I hope that this decline is a byproduct of the expense of their fairly recent acquisitions. I still think Unilever will prosper long term, but not as exponentially, nor as quickly as management may have hoped. Market analysis s also raise a great deal of skepticism that their can be any strategic compatibility between Unilevers food products and personal care/household products divisions. Some would even suggest that they would be better off as two separate companies. I strongly disagree with that opinion. The end consumers of the vast majority of Unilevers various products will be doing so in the same place on the retail level. They will be buying them at supermarkets and the super marts that they live in closest proximity to. Unilever is best served having one distribution network in place to distribute its goods. Also, by remaining as one company, they maintain greater leverage when negotiating for contracts, or purchases for all of their brands. For example, if all of Unilever uses one carrier for over the road distribution in North America, they would have greater leverage in negotiating more favorable transportation rates due to the volume the volume they will be transporting. It is my opinion that Unilever is, overall, taking baby steps towards greater profitability. I like the fact that they are being more selective about their brands and concentrating their ... • 7. Walt Disney s Influence On The Entertainment Industry Walt Disney was a very influential man to the entertainment industry. He made animation a whole new type of entertainment. Although Walt went through many struggles and problems, he pushed on and eventually saw results for all his hard work. Many hardships got in Disney s way such as unsupportive parents and even bankruptcy; Walt pushed on through, always creating, working hard, and persevering to accomplish his dream. Walter Elias Disney was born on December 5, 1901, in Chicago, Illinois. His father, Elias, was a carpenter when Walt was born. Eventually, Elias and his wife, Flora, saved up enough money to start a home building company together. Walter had four siblings: Roy, Herbert, Raymond, and Ruth (Russell 9). Because Ruth was younger than Walt, Walt waited until the age of seven to start school so that he could start at the same time as Ruth. Before he went to school, his mother, Flora, taught him how to read (Russell 10). Walt grew up on the Disney family farm and worked hard on the farm. He worked at the neighbor s farm raising corn, wheat, barley, cows, pigs, and chickens (Giltin 18). Later, Elias grew sick, and the Disney s had to sell the farm. They moved to Kansas City (Russell 11). Throughout Walter s schooling, he loved to be on stage directing, producing, and being on stage (Russell 11). Many things inspired Walt Disney s creativity: moving, roaming, playing in the farmyard, fishing, doodling in class, and editing the school newspaper are just a few ... I loved him and wanted nothing more than for him to be happy. I had moved into town when Spencer was ten, right after he lost his older brother and the use of his left hand in a car accident. When we first met he seemed so empty and vacant. His cold blue eyes looked at the world in the way that a drowsy child looked at a television screen while watching late night talk shows. After a few repetitions of this odd ritual his eyes met mine, cautiously licking his lips, and he began to speak. We can t do this anymore. It s not healthy for me. I m sorry. I looked at him, my previously joy filled face melted away into an expression of hurt confusion, brows tugging together tightly and tears building up in my eyes as I tried to process exactly what he meant. Do what? This. The talking, the friendship, the love. It s not real. But I love you, I bawled, slowly dragging the back of my hand along my cheek to clear my face of tears, leaving a damp streak in its path . I love you too, that s the problem. None of this is real. Of course it s real! You are my whole world. I know. His head hung low and shook again before he walked away, dragging his beat up sneakers along the cracked sidewalk. Desperately, I began to chase after him but found myself unable to gain any actual speed. As if I were in a dream, I was no longer in control of my interaction with the physical world. The harder I tried, the slower I moved. Frantic and confused, I looked down to my feet which, to my surprise, were becoming increasingly transparent with each passing second. I quickly threw my head back up to look at Spencer, eyes wide and bulging in petrified hysteria.

  • 12. Soft Drink Industry Case Study 1. Why, historically, has the soft drink industry been so profitable? There are several reasons why the soft drink industry has been so profitable. One reason is because these soda companies directly distribute to stores that sell their product. They do a good job in avoiding a middle man which would cost a lot more. Instead, they handle all the packaging and bottling before the soda gets to the shelf so they don t have to pay those extra costs associated with a middle man and keep all that profit. Also, carbonated drinks are cheap to produce and have a high profit margin. Every aspect of the making and bottling process is inexpensive so it makes it very easy to turn a profit. This is the same for both bottles and fountain sales. For the fountain all you have to do is install the fountain and then refill it so it is inexpensive. Another way they are profitable is because these soda companies have contracts with stores making it impossible for competitors to sell their version of CSD s in the same location. They put the contracts in place in order to avoid another company selling and taking their profit and also so the stores and restaurants won t make it competitive for them when it doesn t have to be. These soda companies also do a great job of sponsoring events in which helps promote their products which in turn drives profit. These soda companies also partner with certain locations in order to offer incentives if you buy the sodas. For example, if you buy a ticket to a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Katlyn Riggins WGST 343: 500 Fall 2015 Topic Number 4 Women in film are often portrayed in a manner deemed pleasurable to the male viewer. Laura Mulvey takes this concept and dissects it within her article Visual Pleasure and Narrative Cinema. Mulvey references the term male gaze, wom[en] displayed as sexual object[s] is the leitmotif of erotic spectacle: from pin ups to strip tease, from Ziegfeld to Busby Berkeley, she holds the look, and plays to and signifies male desire (Mulvey 40). Because of this interpretation it is relevant to examine different forms of media, such as films, to establish if the male gaze is present. Furthermore, it is appropriate to analyze films directed by women to identify the male gaze, due to their unique interpretation of female character s visual representation. In the essay that follows, it will consider Girlfight and Dance, Girl, Dance to analyze how two separate female filmmakers, Karyn Kusama and Dorothy Arzner respectfully, challenge the theory of the male gaze, along with comparing and contrasting the methods in which such challenges were made, and finally it will address how any filmmaker may object the male gaze. TODs or transit zones are typically located within a radius of one half mile from a transit station, as this is generally considered a reasonable walking distance for pedestrians. His earlier works focused on Socrates Theories, or the Socratic method, while his later works focused on his own laws and Xenophon s Hiero. Some of Plato s dialogues include the Meno, Symposium, Republic, and the Phaedo. The Socratic method is a form of inquiry and discussion between individuals based on asking and answering questions to stimulate critical thinking and to generate ideas. This paper is going to focus on a few of Plato s earlier works and how they incorporate the Socratic method, versus his later works that seem to go in a different direction all together. First, it is important to understand that the Socratic method is a dialectical method that often involves discussion between people in which one person questions the defense of a point of view; many times the person defending his point of view may contradict himself, which gives the opposition a stronger defense. For example, Socrates would use a simple question to begin many of his teachings, such as Is the pious loved by the gods because it is pious, or is it pious because it is loved by the gods? As an alternative example, are actions right, or wrong, based only on the authority s approval of said actions? Socrates used this method many times to secure his point of view. First off, the Catholic Church helps those in need by donating to people who don t have shelter, or people who don t have food or water to drink. They also help by holding volunteer work, so people who want to help those in need can by being there. Another thing the Catholic Church does to help those in need is praying. Some people get together to help those in need by asking the Lord to help them. Others pray for them by themselves to help for those in need. The Catholic Church is very generous for being there when people are in need. The Catholic church greatly represents the Spiritual and Corporal Works of Mercy. They would help feed the hungry by bringing goods to those who need it. The Church can give drink to the thirsty by not wasting water. The Catholic Church helps people to shelter the homeless by collecting supplies they need. They can clothe the naked by donating clothes to those who don t have enough. The Church can visit the sick and imprisoned giving blood and spending time volunteering at nursing homes. They bury the dead by sending a card to to someone who has lost a loved one. Finally, the Catholic Church give alms to the poor by donating money, like a the poor box in the Church. The Spiritual Works of Mercy can also represent the Catholic Church helping those in need. • 29. Joe Diffie Research Paper Joe Diffie entered a crowded field of talented, good looking male country vocalists in early 1990; despite the competition, the clever lyricist with what People called a booming tenor and wide open vocal range achieved stardom in a very short time, racking up an unprecedented series of chart successes. His appeal was due in great part to his ability to cross the boundary separating traditional country vocal styles from the pop and rock influenced sound that has increasingly come to dominate Nashville s musical output. Diffie is also versatile, a quality developed over years of diligent apprenticeship in several areas of the music business. Born in Duncan, Oklahoma, in 1958, Diffie had musical ambitions from a tender age. He has an early memory of his father listening to a record by country music giant George Jones and saying that nobody else could sing like that. And I thought, I can, Diffie recalled. When I got a little older, I was one of those guys who knew every dad gum song on the radio and would run people crazy singing them all, he told Bob Allen ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Country Music s Rich Kienzle felt the album took Diffie further into that idiom where he shows the gutsiness that many younger singers never quite catch. It s New Traditionalism without compromise, but music that fans of certain more modern sounding singers can enjoy as well. Attitude sported up tempo numbers worthy of lively line dances, a modern take on hillbilly boogie of the 1940s and 50s, and sensitive, evocative and totally believable ballads and story songs. Kienzle praised Diffie s wit and sharp imagery throughout his critique and concluded, Diffie s found a focus and a strength here .... and if this is the direction he chooses to go in the future, it s easy to anticipate more albums as good as this ... Both dynasties gained their success through a handful of varying ideas and strategies involving the economy, military, and social structures. However, one of the greatest factors that determined the respective dynasty s futures was their methods of political control. The Han Dynasty and Roman Empire agreed on some major aspects and ideas of politics, but also had diverging views on a few subjects. For example, one major topic both groups disagreed on is the form of government. Some examples of subjects they both agreed on was the focus on infrastructure and trade. One thing that most major political states throughout history can agree on is the importance of trading, not only within the state but with outside states as well. Both the Roman Empire and the Han Dynasty were large participants in trade, not only within their states but with outside states as well. The Han Dynasty exemplifies this by showing their great amount of effort to get involved in the Silk Road. The Han Dynasty went to the extent of expanding the wall into the route of the Silk Road. Metaphorically speaking, this is the Han Dynasty s way of sticking their foot in the Silk Road and regional trade. This was first done in the Han Dynasty because the leaders knew the necessity for trade and its power to keep their government and society thriving. The Romans were also greatly ... Joe ran the Dairy Queen in the heart of the Great Northern Railway Butte Division, at a place called Havre, Montana population 10,000. The Butte Division is known for two seasons, summer and winter. Hand me down truisms from generation to generations would produce the old sayings that rolled off the tongues of the regulars to visitors: One thing about being in Havre at 40 below , is how a response would most likely begin with a visitor, you add that to a forty mile an hour wind... it keeps the riff raff out. The Eastbound passengers, after spending hours cruising east of the Rocky Mountains with only wheat fields and as far one could see, surely were asking one another, Why anyone would live here and what do they look like? By the time, the Westbound arrived in Havre; the look from the dome car passengers was one of quizzical awe. Rising from their dome car seats and looking out the windows the passengers were straining to get a glimpse of a brochure promised mountain any mountain. The brochures didn t mention much about the thousand miles of Great Plains from Fargo, North Dakota to Cut Bank, Montana. It would be six more westbound hours, before those mountain views appeared. Like a shy bride, the residents of Havre did not flock to see the arrival each noon. Not unlike the shy bride, if folks were near the depot, most would not hesitate to take a quick glance at the train trying to make sense out of the depot activity. Years ago, Havre prided itself at having everything you need; that is to say, one of everything you need. Except for banks and bars, the Havre business community unspokenly seemed to frown on businesses that might want to come in and offer competition to an existing business or family interests. Joe McIntosh owned a Dairy Queen in Havre the only Dairy Queen. . As a matter of fact, Joe had the only soft ice cream outlet in the town. That was Joes. Everyone knew it and respected his stake. Pete Wilson (R), vowing to lead a growing conservative movement to end three decades of racial and gender preferences as an antidote to discrimination, today signed an executive order abolishing a wide range of affirmative action programs affecting hiring and contracting in state agencies. Wilson, who is seeking the Republican presidential nomination, eliminated or sharply cut back scores of affirmative action policies or programs that are not mandated by state or federal laws or that exceed those laws. He also abolished 118 boards and commissions created to advise state agencies on ethnic and gender diversity issues. Although he has no direct authority to order policy changes for public ... I vow to fight for changes in those laws, quot; Wilson said. Sean Walsh, the governor s press secretary, said Wilson is the first governor to roll back affirmative action programs. He said the order would affect all of the state s approximately 150,000 full time job positions. According to the California State Employees Association, about 60 percent of the state government work force is white, 16 percent Hispanic, 12 percent black, 6 percent are Asian and the remaining 6 percent from other groups. Wilson s action appeared designed to capitalize on public dissatisfaction with minority preference programs and on a backlash against what is characterized as quot;reverse discrimination, quot; while at the same time setting him apart from the eight other contenders for the GOP presidential nomination, none of whom are sitting governors. It comes a day after senior White House officials said President Clinton is still weeks or even months away from completing a review he has ordered of federal affirmative action programs. Wilson already had announced his support of a proposed 1996 state ballot initiative that would go further than today s order by abolishing affirmative action in all state hiring, contracting and university admissions practices.
