Spring Integration allows for integration between applications using widely adopted integration patterns. The Splunk adaptors allow Spring Integration to ingest and export data from Splunk using its REST API and Java SDK. The inbound adaptor can search and export data from Splunk to message channels for filtering, transformation and exporting to other systems. The outbound adaptor can take data from other sources and push it to Splunk for indexing, searching and visualization.

of formats. But it is still critical to maintain full visibility of the product development
journey – from user stories to production data. By starting at the beginning of the
Product Development Lifecycle, you can track a problem in production all the way
back to the code that was checked into the build and the developer responsible for
the code.
In this session I'll demonstrate some of the ways in which Splunk software can be
used to collect and correlate data throughout the various stages of the lifecycle of
your code, to ultimately make you more efficient and make your code better.

Rackspace: Email's Solution for Indexing 50K Documents per Second: Presented ...
George Bailey and Cameron Baker of Rackspace presented their solution for indexing over 50,000 documents per second for Rackspace Email. They modernized their system using Apache Flume for event processing and aggregation and SolrCloud for real-time search. This reduced indexing time from over 20 minutes to under 5 seconds, reduced the number of physical servers needed from over 100 to 14, and increased indexing throughput from 1,000 to over 50,000 documents per second while supporting over 13 billion searchable documents.

Kafka Needs No Keeper
Kafka is evolving to remove its dependency on Zookeeper. The Kafka Improvement Proposal 500 (KIP-500) aims to manage Kafka's metadata log with a self-managed Raft consensus algorithm and controller quorum rather than relying on Zookeeper. This will improve scalability, robustness, and make deployment easier. It will take multiple releases to fully implement KIP-500, beginning with removing Zookeeper from clients and ending with a release where Zookeeper is no longer required.

Typically, very little Java code required.
