Spiceworks 5.0 aims to improve performance, clean up the user interface, add remote site support for helpdesk, extend discovery capabilities for virtualization and network attached storage, introduce networking device configuration and backup capabilities, and integrate with additional third party applications. It includes four new functional areas, addressed over 1500 tickets during development, involved 5100 beta users over a three month beta cycle and ten builds.

Ed Warnicke is a Distinguished Consulting Engineer in the Chief Technology and Architecture Office (CTAO) office at Cisco Systems. He has been working for over a decade in many areas of networking and Open Source. He has been a member of the OpenDaylight TSC since its inception and currently serves as a committer elected member of the OpenDaylight TSC. He is a founding TSC member at ONAP.

Update on IPv6 activity in CERNET2
This document summarizes an update on IPv6 activity in CERNET2 that was presented on March 5, 2015. It discusses that CERNET2 has had a pure IPv6 backbone since 2003 connecting over 600 universities. IPv6 related research and experiments are conducted on CERNET2. Traffic statistics from January 2015 show backbone traffic exceeding 40Gbps and 10Gbps in some locations. Bill Jenkins, Senior Product Specialist for High Level Design Tools at Intel, presents the "Accelerating Deep Learning Using Altera FPGAs" tutorial at the May 2016 Embedded Vision Summit.
While large strides have recently been made in the development of high-performance systems for neural networks based on multi-core technology, significant challenges in power, cost and, performance scaling remain. Field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) are a natural choice for implementing neural networks because they can combine computing, logic, and memory resources in a single device. Intel's Programmable Solutions Group has developed a scalable convolutional neural network reference design for deep learning systems using the OpenCL programming language built with our SDK for OpenCL. The design performance is being benchmarked using several popular CNN benchmarks: CIFAR-10, ImageNet and KITTI.
Building the CNN with OpenCL kernels allows true scaling of the design from smaller to larger devices and from one device generation to the next. New designs can be sized using different numbers of kernels at each layer. Performance scaling from one generation to the next also benefits from architectural advancements, such as floating-point engines and frequency scaling. Thus, you achieve greater than linear performance and performance per watt scaling with each new series of devices.Nats.io meetup october 2015 - Community Update

ODSA Sub-Project Launch
The charter of the ODSA (Open Domain Specification Architecture) Workgroup is to define an open specification that enables building of Domain Specific Accelerator silicon using best-of-breed components from the industry made available as chiplet dies that can be integrated together as Lego blocks on an organic substrate packaging layer. The resulting multi-chip module (MCM) silicon can be produced at significantly lower development and manufacturing costs, and will deliver much needed performance per watt and performance per dollar efficiencies in networking, security, machine learning and other applications. The ODSA Workgroup also intends to deliver implementations of the specification as board-level prototypes, RTL code and libraries.
