Saturn is the sixth planet from the Sun with a distance of approximately 9.5 astronomical units or 1,426,725,400 km. It takes Saturn 29.5 years, or 10,795 days, to orbit the Sun. Saturn rotates once every 10 hours and 39 minutes and has an appearance of a giant gas planet that is unlikely to support life.

Jupiter is the fifth planet from the Sun. It is oversized compared to Earth, with a diameter of 88,703 miles. Galileo first observed Jupiter's four largest moons orbiting it in 1610. Jupiter is a gas giant with no solid surface, composed primarily of hydrogen and helium. It has a strong magnetic field and is surrounded by rings and over 63 natural moons.

The earth's atmosphere atmospheric layers

The Water Cycle Final Product
The water cycle describes the continuous movement of water on, above, and below the Earth's surface, driven by solar energy. Water can exist in three forms - liquid, solid (ice), and gas (water vapor) - and changes form as it moves through the cycle of evaporation, transpiration, condensation, precipitation, collection, runoff, infiltration, storage, and either return to the seas or a repeat of the cycle. The sun's heat causes evaporation and transpiration, forming water vapor that rises and condenses into clouds and precipitates as rain or snow back to Earth, completing the cycle which is vital to life and all human activities that depend on water.
Layers of the atmosphere
The document summarizes the four main layers of Earth's atmosphere:
1) The troposphere, the lowest layer where weather occurs and temperatures decrease with altitude. Most water vapor and clouds are found here.
2) The stratosphere, which contains the ozone layer that absorbs ultraviolet light. Temperature increases with altitude in this layer.
3) The mesosphere, where meteorites burn up before reaching Earth's surface. Temperatures decrease with altitude in this layer.

The atmosphere is divided into five main layers - troposphere, stratosphere, mesosphere, thermosphere, and exosphere. The troposphere is where weather occurs and contains around 80% of the atmosphere's mass. The stratosphere is above the troposphere and contains the ozone layer. Temperature decreases with increasing altitude in the troposphere but increases in the upper stratosphere due to ozone.

The water cycle describes the continuous movement of water on, above, and below the surface of the Earth. The sun warms water in oceans and lakes, causing it to evaporate into water vapor in the air. Water vapor condenses to form clouds, and air currents move clouds around the world. When clouds become too full, water falls as precipitation like rain or snow. Precipitation returns to oceans, lakes, and rivers, where the cycle repeats.
Environmental pollution
The document defines and describes five main types of pollution: air, water, noise, land, and radioactive. It provides details on the causes and effects of each type of pollution, as well as some methods to prevent or reduce pollution. We can search for evidence of past, or even present, life forms within our own solar system, find
evidence of simple life on planets around other stars –- a planet where water could be present has
recently be found –- or even detect an intelligent signal from an alien civilization. The speaker was
a project scientist in the most sensitive search, Project Phoenix, ever undertaken. Sadly, no signals
were detected but a new 10 year search using two of the world’s largest radio telescopes is about
to begin and, during the next decade, a giant radio telescope, the Square Kilometer Array, will have
the sensitivity to detect alien signals from across the galaxy.

Exoplanet

Kohlberg's theory of moral development proposes that morality progresses through 6 sequential stages across 3 broad levels - preconventional, conventional, and postconventional. At the preconventional level, children follow rules to avoid punishment. At the conventional level, they follow rules to gain approval and maintain social order. At the postconventional level, individuals develop their own principles and conscience may conflict with societal rules. The theory was inspired by Piaget and used moral dilemmas like the Heinz dilemma to investigate reasoning. However, cross-cultural studies found cultural differences in how dilemmas are viewed.
Psychology: Harlow’s experiments on attachment in monkeys. by Janice Fung.
Harlow conducted experiments on infant rhesus monkeys to study the factors influencing attachment to mothers. He found that infant monkeys separated from mothers developed stronger attachments to surrogate mothers covered in soft cloth compared to wire surrogates, even if the wire surrogate provided food. This demonstrated that contact comfort was more important than feeding in forming attachments. Harlow also found that monkeys raised in total isolation from birth exhibited social and emotional impairments later in life. His work provided insights into how early attachment experiences shape later maternal behavior and psychological development.

Sleep is important for brain health. When we sleep, our brain clears out toxins that build up during waking hours. Sleep is also when our neurons consolidate memories and learn from experiences during the day. Experiments with mice suggest exercise and mental stimulation help grow new neurons in the hippocampus, an area of the brain important for learning and memory. This implies exercise and mental activity may also help grow new neurons in the human hippocampus, improving brain function.

People typically dream 4-5 times per night, with over 95% of dreams being forgotten. Dreams mainly occur during REM sleep, which accounts for around 90% of dreams. REM sleep increases throughout the night as sleep time increases. There are several theories about the meaning of dreams, including Freud's psychoanalytic theory that dreams reveal unconscious desires, the problem-solving theory that dreams have no inherent meaning but reflect how problems are processed, and Hobson and McCarley's activation-synthesis theory that dreams have no meaning and are simply a product of random brain activation during sleep. Researchers study dreams using sleep laboratories that can monitor physiological activity and brain waves during sleep.

What do you know about mars? • Cold desert world. • Like Earth, Mars has seasons, polar ice caps, volcanoes, canyons and weather. • Atmosphere is too thin for liquid water to exist for long on the surface. • Signs of ancient floods on Mars, but evidence for water now exists mainly in icy soil and thin clouds. Why do you think SCIENTISTS would be interested in exploring this planet?
