This document discusses the dangers of compromising biblical standards and conforming to worldly practices in order to gain popularity or converts. It provides several quotes warning against lowering the standard of truth, conforming to tradition over Scripture, and uniting with worldly customs. Compromising the gospel message and adopting pagan practices is what led to the apostasy and corruption of the early church. True conversion comes through preaching repentance from sin and elevation to Christlike standards, not by accommodating sin. Faithfulness to God and his word should be the highest priority, over seeking popularity or victory.
God's divine purpose is to establish his kingdom on Earth by summing up all things in Christ and creating a new humanity. The Bible presents the unified story of God working to fulfill this purpose, starting with creation, the fall of man, and God's plan of salvation unfolding through Israel and culminating in Jesus Christ. Now the church continues God's work of reconciling the world to himself and creating a new humanity as it carries the gospel to all nations.
This document provides a summary of Lesson #3 from a series on the Unity of the Gospel. It discusses the importance of unity in the early church and examples of threats to unity. While unity was important, truth could not be compromised. The document also examines Paul's confrontation with Peter over the issue of requiring Gentile Christians to follow Jewish customs like circumcision. Paul believed this compromised the gospel message of salvation by faith alone.
1. The document discusses worship in the Book of Revelation, noting that amid dramatic images, the theme of worship repeatedly appears.
2. Sections discuss how Revelation depicts worship of God as Creator, Redeemer, and Judge. Scenes in heaven show various beings worshiping God for what He has done on earth and throughout history.
3. Revelation 13-14 center on the final crisis surrounding worship - of God or the beast. Those who worship the beast face persecution, while those whose names are in the Lamb's book of life worship the One who offers salvation.
1. The document outlines God's epic story from creation to the final establishment of God's kingdom on earth.
2. It describes how God created the world and humanity, but sin entered through man's rebellion, leading God to send Jesus Christ to redeem humanity.
3. The story concludes with Jesus defeating all enemies and establishing a new heaven and new earth, where believers will reign with him forever.
This document provides a summary of Lesson 8 from a religious text. It discusses Jesus' mission statement of coming to "seek and save that which was lost" as recorded in Luke 19:10. It explores what was lost through various stories and parables from the Bible, including the lost sheep, lost coin, and prodigal son. It examines how Jesus sought and saved the lost through encounters with blind Bartimaeus and Zacchaeus the tax collector. The document emphasizes that Jesus came to restore wholeness physically, mentally, spiritually, and socially. It stresses our utter dependence on God and taking salvation seriously rather than for granted.
This document discusses signs in the sun, moon, and stars as mentioned in Genesis 1:14 and other biblical passages. It explores how the biblical feasts of Leviticus 23, such as Passover and Pentecost, were fulfilled by Jesus and relate to future events. The document suggests the rapture may occur on the Feast of Trumpets based on passages like 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17. It examines symbols like fig trees and the number patterns in biblical passages to argue important biblical events occurred in Jubilee years, including Israel becoming a nation in 1948.
The document provides teachings on the steps to salvation according to Jesus. It explains that salvation comes through God's grace by recognizing our sinful nature, repenting of sins, having faith in Jesus through accepting his righteousness, and following him. While humans can recognize their sins and repent, it is God who gives the faith to believe and enables repentance. True faith is not just mental belief but a personal trust in Jesus as savior. The righteousness received through faith in Christ covers believers, allowing them to enter God's kingdom. Ongoing salvation requires abiding in Jesus' teachings and being his disciples by living according to the Bible and sharing him with others. Salvation is solely a gift from God and cannot be earned or deserved through

The document discusses the glory of the cross from a sermon. It covers three main points: (1) The cross represents man's sins that Jesus died for. (2) The cross demonstrates God's great love for humanity in that he was willing to sacrifice his son. (3) The cross provides forgiveness from God that humanity desperately needs, as salvation cannot be achieved through any other means. The cross is the central focal point of God's redemptive plan and the only means by which people can be reconciled to God.
The document discusses the difference between man's sinful "bios" life and Christ's sinless divine "zoe" life. It explains that through the incarnation, Christ united his zoe life with our bios life, allowing him to legally become our substitute and representative. By dying on the cross, our bios life died for eternity, and in exchange we received Christ's zoe life through his resurrection. Now through faith, believers share in Christ's eternal zoe life and are adopted as God's children.
1) Christian salvation involves being united with Christ through faith, which roots a person in Christ's redemptive work and shapes them to be like Christ.
2) Union with Christ is the central truth of salvation, with people being chosen in Christ before creation and their salvation established through Christ's work.
3) Salvation involves being regenerated, or made alive in Christ, and continuing to live by faith in union with Christ through which a person is justified, sanctified, and ultimately conformed to Christ.
This document provides instructions for salvation according to the Bible. It explains that salvation comes through faith in God and obedience to His word. The key steps to salvation outlined are: 1) Hear the gospel, 2) Believe in Jesus, 3) Repent of sins, 4) Confess faith in Christ, 5) Be baptized for forgiveness of sins. Examples are given from Acts showing people completing these steps. Obedience leads to salvation but disobedience leads to condemnation. The purpose is to provide the true biblical path to salvation.
The document discusses how creation declares God's beauty, power and goodness, but also the brokenness caused by sin. It references passages from Genesis describing God creating the heavens, earth and everything in it, seeing that it was good. Romans is cited explaining how creation groans under its present limitations but awaits redemption. The conclusion is that as creation cries out about God, it should drive us to worship Him.
God created the world perfectly, but it became imperfect due to sin. While nature provides general evidence of a Creator, it is limited and does not fully reveal God due to the effects of sin. Special revelation through prophets, dreams, and Jesus Christ is needed to fully understand God. Natural disasters and predators do not mean God is unkind, but are results of sin, Satan's influence, and humanity's limited understanding without special revelation, which reveals God's love and sovereignty over all creation.
It then explores how individuals can experience salvation through repentance, faith, justification and regeneration as they contemplate God's love and pardoning grace shown through Christ's death. Salvation radically changes the believer as it forgives all sin and grants them new life.
The document discusses different methods of interpreting biblical prophecy, including preterism, futurism, and historicism. It argues that the historicist method allows prophecies in Daniel and Revelation to be understood as predictions of events from the author's time to the present. Specifically, it identifies symbols like beasts and horns in Daniel as representing successive kingdoms from Babylon to Rome. Rome is identified as persecuting God's people for 1,260 years, which historicists apply to the period of papal supremacy from 538 to 1798 AD. The document also discusses principles like the "year-day" principle and typology that aid in interpreting prophecies involving symbolic time periods. The culmination of these prophecies, it suggests
Jesus was tempted by Satan to receive power and authority over all the earthly kingdoms if he bowed down and worshipped Satan instead of remaining faithful to God's law. Jesus resisted this temptation in order to fulfill God's plan of salvation and defeat Satan. As a result of Jesus' victory, believers have assurance that they too can become citizens of God's eternal kingdom if they accept Jesus and obey God's law, being washed from sin. Only those who are righteous through faith in Christ can inherit the kingdom of God. God's law will still exist in the eternal kingdom, ensuring there is no more death or sin.
The document discusses the biblical promises of God creating new heavens and a new earth. It summarizes that:
1) The current earth and heavens will be destroyed, but God will create new heavens and a new earth where righteousness dwells and death no longer rules.
2) In the new creation, sin will be destroyed and all its effects like death and suffering will be removed. God will make all things new and restore His creation.
3) God's role as Creator did not end with the initial creation - He will supernaturally create the new heavens and earth, restoring and fulfilling His original purposes.
The document discusses the end times and finding rest in Christ. It summarizes that:
1) The world is facing serious issues as end times events are fulfilled, but believers can find rest in Christ amid the troubles.
2) Jesus promised he will return and believers should remain faithful until then, finding rest in his promises.
3) When Christ returns, believers will receive ultimate rest in the new Earth with God for eternity.
Mt 28:19 "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
Mk 16:15 And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.
Act 1:8 "But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."
God offers salvation to all people because He loves everyone and wants them to be saved. God uses people to share the good news of salvation with others so that all people have an opportunity to hear the gospel and be saved. Witnessing brings joy to God when people accept His salvation. The lessons encourage Christians to fulfill the great commission by sharing the gospel with others out of their love for God and what He has done for them.
Mt 13:15 For the hearts of this people have grown dull. Their ears are hard of hearing, And their eyes they have closed, Lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, Lest they should understand with their hearts and turn, So that I should heal them.'
The Israelites forgot what God had done for them and rebelled against God and their leaders multiple times during their journey in the wilderness. They complained about lacking food and longed for the luxuries of Egypt. God provided meat but they had a selective memory, forgetting their slavery. Later, Miriam and Aaron criticized Moses' leadership due to jealousy. The people were discouraged by the challenges of Canaan and refused to take the land, showing a lack of faith. God forgave them but they still faced consequences. Paul used their story as a warning for Christians to not repeat the same mistakes of rebellion, idolatry, and lack of faith.
The document summarizes symbols presented in the New Testament that point to spiritual truths. It discusses how Paul viewed the crossing of the Red Sea as a symbol of baptism, and how John the Baptist saw animal sacrifices at the Temple as a symbol of Jesus redeeming people. It also examines how the book of Hebrews presents the Sabbath in creation and entering the promised land as symbols of the rest God gives believers. The document explores these symbols and their deeper meanings, emphasizing how they point to spiritual realities about following Christ.

Message series awakening - part 1 - awakening to longing - pastor chuck ber...LifePointe Church
This message is Part 1 in the message series “AWAKENING” by Pastor Chuck Bernal. In this message titled, “Awakening To Longing”, Pastor Chuck talks the emptiness we feel in our lives and how we looks to pleasure, possessions and people - but they can never bring ultimate satisfaction because they are temporary in nature. Using the stories of Solomon and the Prodigal Son, he discusses the fact that each of us has a "God-shaped" hole which only God can fill - and that is where we will find our ultimate satisfaction and meaning in life.
This message was delivered at LifePointe Church in Crowley, TX on Sunday, April 23, 2017.
Sabbath school lesson 11, 2nd quarter of 2018David Syahputra
This lesson discusses who should be worshipped and the signs of true and false worship. It explains that God established circumcision and the Sabbath as external signs of worshipping Him. In the end times, those who worship the beast will receive its mark, while those who worship God will receive His seal, which includes keeping the Sabbath. The Sabbath identifies God as Creator and is the sign between Him and His people. When Sunday laws are enforced, refusing to worship on Sunday in favor of the biblically commanded Sabbath will mean receiving the mark of the beast rather than the seal of God.

This document discusses Marxist theories about the state, oppression, and emancipation. It addresses several key ideas:
1) Marxism views the state as based on power relations between classes, with the modern state supporting the dominant capitalist class.
2) Under capitalism, workers are alienated and oppressed as they do not own what they produce.
3) A communist society would overcome alienation by meeting people's needs through meaningful, creative work and strong community relations rather than individualism.
4) Some object that Marxism overstates the determination of ideas by the economic base, and that ideas can also influence social and economic conditions.

1. God's healing way requires prayer, faith, obedience to God's health laws, and the use of natural remedies. Prayer must be accompanied by a sincere effort to obey God and confess and forsake any known sins.
2. When praying for the healing of the sick, it is important to submit all requests to God's will and recognize that His wisdom and timing may differ from what we desire. God's grace is sufficient even if healing does not come in the way or time we expect.
3. Those who are seriously ill should put their affairs in order, always request God's sustaining presence, and recognize that being healed brings renewed obligation to their healer, God.
The document discusses strategies for home health agencies to prepare for Recovery Audit Contractor (RAC) audits. It outlines the history of the RAC program, the audit process, potential targets like coding issues, and the 5-level appeals process. Agencies are advised to evaluate quarterly coding audits, ensure coding specificity, and prepare documentation in case of an audit or appeal. The appeals process involves redetermination, reconsideration, administrative law judge hearing, appeals council review, and potential judicial review, with various deadlines and requirements at each stage.
Seven Adventist pastors gathered in Denver in 2010 with a shared desire to make Jesus the central focus of their lives and ministries. Over two days of prayer and fasting, they committed to starting "The One Project" to promote devotion to Jesus within the Adventist Church. Since then, the annual One Project gatherings have grown in size and aim to inspire renewed commitment to Christ. The founding members seek to model putting Jesus first in all aspects of life and ministry.

This is a study of the Great Commission of Jesus in the Gospel of Mark with comparisons with other texts. Jesus sent his disciples into all the world to bring the good news of salvation.
This is a study of Jesus as the light of the Gentiles and the glory of Israel. Jesus was a universal light to both Jews and Gentiles, Nobody needs to stay in the darkness, for the light of Jesus is everywhere for all people.
This document discusses Jesus' method of mingling with sinners and how Christians should follow His example. It provides several quotes about Jesus eating and socializing with tax collectors and sinners in order to minister to them and invite them to follow Him. The document encourages Christians to mingle with non-believers in the community to shine God's light and share their faith, while trusting in God's power to protect them from being corrupted. It emphasizes having compassion for the lost and doing personal ministry work to help save souls.
This document summarizes a sermon given at First Baptist Church in Jackson, Mississippi on staying focused in today's world. It discusses the cultural challenges Christians face, including rising secularism, declining church membership, and issues around life, marriage, gender, and religious liberty. It encourages keeping God's vision through obedience to his word, and clinging to the virtues of faith, hope and love in 1 Corinthians 13:13 to maintain a Christian worldview amid the gathering storm.
The temptation to introduce "new" things into the work of God has always been too strong for some people to resist... Today this trend has accelerated beyond recognition despite A.W. Tozer's warning. Christians should be spiritually awakened so as to discern God’s original ways from man-made false ways in every area of Christianity.
This is a study of Jesus working through Paul. Paul gloried in Jesus for it was Jesus working through him that brought about so many wonderful things like bringing salvation to the Gentiles.
This document discusses the rise of the Antichrist according to passages from the Bible. It explains that the Antichrist will oppose God and exalt himself, leading people into rebellion against God. Currently, the spirit of the Antichrist is already at work in the world, moving societies away from Christianity. Eventually, the Holy Spirit will no longer restrain the spirit of lawlessness, paving the way for the Antichrist to come to power through deceptions and false miracles. He will convince the world to worship him instead of God. However, true believers will be saved from experiencing this time through the rapture before the Antichrist is revealed.
This is a study of Jesus to be reigning for ever and ever. This is a promise that runs all through Scripture and gives believers a sense of assurance for He will be our Lord and Savior always and forever.
Child of God, I don't use the word "violent" at my choosing, but God's Word tells us to literally get violent and use our God-given force (spiritual energy).now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force. If you want to make a breakthrough in your finances, then determine right now in your mind that you are going to take whatever action is necessary to crush the devil's wall of containment around your finances, removing the limitations of that invisible wall
and breaking through, by force and violence, into a
new level of understanding and knowledge in the area
of your finances. You probably already have much spiritual energy from God's Word in you. This book will put even more
and more of that spiritual energy into you through a better and broader understanding of His Word. All of a sudden, you will realize that His Word is concentrated so strongly in you that you now have enough spiritual energy to come with violent spiritual force against the invisible wall that is resisting you and
pushing against your finances and blow those walls asunder!
You will charge forth into newly discovered wealth and prosperity, receiving literally more than enough to help finance every worthwhile Christian ministry that God directs you to help.

This document discusses the signs of the times and nearness of Christ's second coming. It notes that Sunday sacredness is replacing Bible Sabbath as the last act in the drama, and cites the appointment of the Jesuit pope and collapse of Protestantism through ecumenical unity with Catholicism in fulfillment of prophecy. It warns that most church members are unprepared for what is coming upon the earth and urges believers to awaken to the prophetic significance of current events signaling the end is near.
This document discusses the signs of the times and nearness of Christ's second coming. It notes that Sunday sacredness is being exalted in place of the Bible Sabbath, which it identifies as the last act in the drama before Jesus returns. It also summarizes recent events showing the collapse of Protestantism and growing unity with Catholicism, fulfilling prophecies about the three-fold union of church, state, and spiritualism opposing God prior to the close of probation. The document urges readers to wake up to these signs and prepare their lives for Christ's imminent return.
The document discusses various styles of evangelism that congregations and individual Christians can employ. It describes the confrontational style which directly presents the law and gospel message, the conversational style which focuses on developing friendships as a way to naturally share the gospel, the collegiate style which provides rational arguments for the Christian faith, the conformational style of sharing one's personal testimony, and the come and see style which invites unchurched people to church events to encounter the gospel. The pastor's role is to equip Christians in these various styles and provide opportunities for evangelism in the congregation.
This document is a summary of a Sunday school lesson about maintaining focus and a Christian worldview in today's secular culture. It discusses the warnings in Proverbs 29:18 about a lack of revelation leading to lawlessness. It analyzes modern secularization trends like declining church membership and the rejection of traditional views of marriage, gender, and human life. While the culture is becoming increasingly secular, the document encourages clinging to faith, hope, and love as the greatest virtues according to 1 Corinthians 13:13. Christians are called to stand firm on biblical authority amidst the gathering storm.
This is a collection of writings dealing with the Holy Spirit as a spirit of truth to guide the Apostles into all truth, and to lead them into understanding of what is to come.

The document discusses how the French Revolution was precipitated by the centralization of wealth and power among the few, which led to vast inequality and oppression of the poorer classes. It draws parallels between the economic conditions prior to the French Revolution and trends in the late 19th/early 20th century of monopolization by wealthy corporations and unions, increasing the power of the few over the many and sowing the seeds of social unrest. Bible prophecies are presented as having foretold these events.
This document discusses how the French Revolution fulfilled Bible prophecy about the two witnesses being killed and lying dead for three and a half days in Revelation 11. It provides historical context about France banning the Bible in 1793 and the reign of terror that followed. During this time, atheism and licentiousness spread as the testimony of God's witnesses was silenced. However, the Bible was then tolerated again in France after three and a half years, just as the prophecy foretold. The document examines various events of the French Revolution through the lens of different Bible prophecies.
This document discusses biblical prophecies related to the two witnesses and the beast from the bottomless pit. It suggests that the two witnesses represent the Old and New Testaments, and that their 1,260 day prophecy period ended in 1798. At this time, the papal power fulfilled the role of the beast from the bottomless pit by oppressing the Scriptures. The document explores various biblical passages to support identifying the papacy with the beast from the bottomless pit and linking its rise to divine judgment for not accepting biblical truth.
The document discusses several Bible passages from Ezekiel that describe Ezekiel's vision of God's likeness appearing as fire from the waist down and brightness from the waist up. It provides the text of these passages from several Bible translations. It also includes commentary distinguishing between the literal translation and other translations that use terms like "figure" or "form" instead of "likeness".
The church in Laodicea was complacent and thought they needed nothing, but Jesus saw they were wretched, poor, blind, and naked. Jesus calls on them to buy from him true treasure, righteousness, and knowledge through repentance. He stands at the door and knocks, hoping they will hear his call to turn away from their self-deluded ways and toward him in zealous faith.
The document discusses the four compartments of the Hebrew sanctuary: 1) the encampment, 2) the courtyard, 3) the holy place, and 4) the most holy place or ark of the covenant. It provides descriptions of each area from Bible passages and explains their symbolism, such as the courtyard representing reconciliation between God and man. Personal applications are given, like how the seven golden candlesticks represent how Christians should shine forth Christ's light. The overall message is about sanctification and glorification through understanding Jesus' work in the heavenly sanctuary.
The document discusses the importance of health and following the eight natural laws for physical and spiritual well-being. It notes that poor health habits like lack of exercise, poor diet, and substance abuse can lead to disease and death, just as breaking moral laws can lead to spiritual death. Committing fully to obeying God's health laws is necessary to receive blessings of health, as it is to obey His moral laws and receive salvation. Health reform is meant to prepare God's people for translation and the time of trouble.
Lord Palmerston, the premier of England, was petitioned by Scottish clergy to appoint a day of prayer and fasting to prevent a cholera outbreak. However, Lord Palmerston replied that the clergy should focus on sanitation measures like cleaning streets and houses, promoting public health, and ensuring good nutrition for the poor. These preventive measures, he argued, would eliminate the need for fasting and prayer, as God would not listen to prayers when basic preventive steps were ignored.
Cholesterol can come from both exogenous (dietary) and endogenous (produced by the liver) sources. Dietary cholesterol is found in foods like eggs and animal fats, while the liver produces cholesterol endogenously. Oxidized cholesterol is especially harmful and can damage blood vessels. High levels of homocysteine in the blood can also damage blood vessels and increase heart disease risk. Homocysteine levels are affected by nutrients like folate, vitamin B6, and vitamin B12. Caffeine intake should be limited as it can raise blood pressure and homocysteine.
The document discusses the biblical parable of the ten virgins from Matthew 25:1-13. It provides commentary on various aspects of the parable from the writings of Ellen White. Key points include:
- The parable applies to Adventists in the last days as they await Christ's second coming.
- The lamps represent the Word of God, while the oil represents the Holy Spirit.
- The wise virgins study the scriptures intensely and receive the Holy Spirit, while the foolish neglect studying the Bible and do not receive the Holy Spirit.
- At the midnight cry, when Christ returns, the foolish virgins realize they are unprepared without the Holy Spirit.
The document discusses the effects of sugar consumption on health. It notes that sugar intake has risen significantly since the 1900s with the advent of food processing. Several studies are cited showing links between higher sugar intake and adverse health outcomes like cardiovascular disease and diabetes. High blood sugar is noted to aid cancer growth by providing extra energy for cancer cells, increasing insulin and acidity, and impairing the immune system. Maintaining a diet low in added sugars and refined carbohydrates is recommended for optimal health.
William Miller was a Baptist preacher who, through intensive study of the Bible, concluded that Jesus Christ would return to earth between 1843 and 1844. He began preaching this and gained many followers known as Millerites. When Christ did not return on the predicted dates, it caused the Great Disappointment and the Millerite movement dissolved. Some Millerites went on to form the Seventh Day Adventist Church, believing in the imminent second coming of Christ and observance of the Sabbath on Saturday. Ellen White emerged as an influential leader through her prophetic visions which helped shape Seventh Day Adventist beliefs and practices around health, education, and missions.
The document provides information about the ten plagues of Egypt in Exodus and compares them to the seven last plagues described in Revelation. It summarizes key points about the plagues, including who or what was affected by each plague, biblical references, and short explanations. It also addresses questions about God's mercy during the plagues, who will be protected, and the need to prepare one's heart before Christ's return.
Cancer is characterized by uncontrolled cell growth and the ability of cells to invade other tissues. Normal cells grow and divide in an orderly way, while cancer cells continue growing and dividing instead of dying. Cancer develops due to damaged DNA that is not repaired. Lifestyle factors like tobacco use, pollution, diet, obesity, and ultraviolet radiation exposure can damage DNA and increase cancer risk. Antioxidants from fruits and vegetables help neutralize free radicals that damage cells. Exercise, nutrition, and staying at a healthy weight can help prevent cancer development. Cancer treatments include chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery, but prevention through lifestyle is most effective.
This document discusses the health benefits of a plant-based diet and the risks associated with animal product consumption. It provides several studies that show vegetarians and vegans have lower rates of chronic diseases like cancer, heart disease, diabetes and obesity. Cancer risks are higher with diets high in fat, meat and dairy. Plant foods like fruits, vegetables, whole grains and legumes contain antioxidants and other beneficial compounds that protect against disease initiation and promotion.
This document discusses Ellen White's warnings about the "alpha" and "omega" of dangers facing the faith, with the "alpha" being represented by Dr. Kellogg's book Living Temple and theories in 1904. She warned that a "omega" would follow with a more startling nature. It provides historical context for Kellogg promoting pantheistic views and unsound policies, with White providing counsel and warnings. The nature of Christ and sin are also discussed, with the importance of not departing from the faith or teachings of the Bible.
The document summarizes the fulfillment of the 6th trumpet judgment as described in Revelation 9:13-19. It describes how in 1449 the Ottoman Empire gained control of Constantinople, marking the end of the 150 years of torment on the Greeks and the loosing of the four angels. The four angels represented the four principal sultanates of the Ottoman Empire located along the Euphrates River that were previously restrained but became unleashed to conquer the territories of the Eastern Roman Empire. The document provides historical context and quotes from sources identifying the armies of the Ottoman Empire under Mehmed II that conquered Constantinople in 1453, fulfilling the prophecy.
The document summarizes the fulfillment of the 7 trumpets, focusing on the 5th trumpet. It describes how the fall of the Persian king Chosroes opened the way for the rise of Islam under Muhammad. After Chosroes' defeat, there was anarchy in Persia for 8 years, allowing the Arabian caliphs to conquer Persia. It then discusses how the invading Islamic armies that arose from the "bottomless pit" or wilderness of Arabia had power like scorpions for 150 "prophetic years" to torment the Roman-Byzantine world from the 7th-13th centuries AD. Their cavalry armies spread rapidly like locusts or horsemen prepared for battle, darkening
The document discusses the events surrounding the fall of the Western Roman Empire in 476 AD and the rise of papal power that followed. It provides historical context on:
1) Odoacer deposing the last Western Roman emperor in 476 AD, traditionally marking the end of the Western Roman Empire. This created a power vacuum and divided the territory among 10 kingdoms.
2) The conversion of Clovis, King of the Franks, to Catholicism in 496 AD. This alliance between the Franks and the Catholic Church supported the rise of papal authority.
3) The removal of 3 Arian kingdoms - the Heruli in 493 AD, the Vandals in 534 AD,

It seems that current missionary work requires spending a lot of money, preparing a lot of materials, and traveling to far away places, so that it feels like missionary work. But what was the result they brought back? It's just a lot of photos of activities, fun eating, drinking and some playing games. And then we have to do the same thing next year, never ending. The church once mentioned that a certain missionary would go to the field where she used to work before the end of his life. It seemed that if she had not gone, no one would be willing to go. The reason why these missionary work is so difficult is that no one obeys God’s words, and the Bible is not the main content during missionary work, because in the eyes of those who do not obey God’s words, the Bible is just words and cannot be connected with life, so Reading out God's words is boring because it doesn't have any life experience, so it cannot be connected with human life. I will give a few examples in the hope that this situation can be changed. A375

religion will be exalted. The first
day of the week, a common
working day, possessing no
sanctity whatever, will be set up
as was the image at Babylon.
All nations and tongues and

Trial and persecution will come to
all who, in obedience to the Word
of God, refuse to worship this false
sabbath. Force is the last resort of
every false religion. At first it tries
attraction, as the king of Babylon
tried the power of music and
outward show. If these attractions,
invented by men inspired by Satan,
failed to make men worship the
image, the hungry flames of the
furnace were ready to consume
them. So it will be now. The
Papacy has exercised her power to
compel men to obey her, and she
will continue to do so. We need the
same spirit that was manifested by
God's servants in the conflict with
paganism.

thrown to the wild beasts to make
us recant; we are burned in the
flames; we are condemned to
prisons and to mines; we are
banished to islands,--such as
Patmos,--and all have failed." So it
was in the case of the three
Hebrew worthies; their eye was
single to the glory of God; their
souls were steadfast; the power of
the truth held them firmly to their
allegiance to God. It is in the power
of God alone that we shall be
enabled to be loyal to him. {ST,

Even the thoughts must be brought into subjection to the
will of God, and the feelings under the control of reason and
religion. Our imagination was not given us to be allowed to

wrong; and the thoughts and feelings combined make up the
moral character. {HP 164.2}

When turned to good account, music is a

19. The Word-Faith Movement*
The fastest growing segment of professing Christianity today is the Word-Faith
Movement, also known as the Positive Confession or simply "Faith" movement. Its
growth is at least partially due to the massive amounts of money the leaders are able to
extract from the faithful. This influx of cash allows for huge buildings and extensive
ministries, and more importantly, wide exposure on television, which translates into
numerical growth. Not only do many Word-Faith preachers broadcast their services and
campaigns, but Word-Faith adherents, Paul and Jan Crouch, own the largest Christian-
based television network in the world. The Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN), founded
by the Crouches, with an estimated net worth of approximately $600 million dollars, is
capable of televising the Faith message (as well as many other errant messages) all
over the world.
Well-known personalities within the movement include Kenneth Hagin, Kenneth
Copeland, Robert Tilton (who is staging a come-back), Paul Yonggi Cho, Benny Hinn,
Marilyn Hickey, Frederick K.C. Price, John Avanzini, Charles Capps, Jerry Savelle,
Morris Cerullo and of course, Paul and Jan Crouch.
20. Kenneth Copeland states the faith formula this way: "All
it takes is 1) Seeing or visualizing whatever you need,
whether physical or financial; 2) Staking your claim on
Scripture; and 3) Speaking it into existence"
(Christianity in Crisis, p. 80).
Paul Yonggi Cho, borrowing from the occult, has
developed what he calls the "Law of Incubation." Here
is how it works: "First make a clear-cut goal, then draw
a mental picture, vivid and graphic, to visualize
success. Then incubate it into reality, and finally speak
it into existence through the creative power of the
spoken word" (Christianity in Crisis, pp. 83-84).
21. As one might guess, the teachings of the Faith movement are very
attractive to some. If we can produce whatever our hearts desire
by simply demanding what we want by faith, if we can manipulate
the universe and perhaps even God, then we have our own
personal genie just waiting to fulfill our wishes. Frederick K.C.
Price wastes no words when he writes:
"Now this is a shocker! But God has to be given permission to
work in this earth realm on behalf of man. … Yes! You are in
control! So if man has control, who no longer has it? God. ... When
God gave Adam dominion, that meant God no longer had
dominion. So, God cannot do anything on this earth unless we let
Him or give Him permission through prayer" (Prayer: Do You
Know What Prayer Is. ... and How to Pray? The Word Study Bible,
p. 1178).
This is certainly a theology that would appeal to the masses, and
thus accounts for the Faith movement's popularity.
22. The Deification of Man
Faith teachers like to teach, based upon serious
mishandling of passages such as John 10:31-39 and
II Peter 1:4, that Christians are "little gods.
“ Copeland says, "Now Peter said by exceeding great
and precious promises you become partakers of the
divine nature. All right, are we gods? We are a class
of gods!" (Christianity in Crisis, p. 116).
Benny Hinn declares, "God came from heaven,
became a man, made man into little gods, went back
to heaven as a man" (Christianity in Crisis, p. 382 n.
43). Earl Paulk wrote, "Until we comprehend that we
are little gods and we begin to act like little gods, we
cannot manifest the kingdom of God" (Satan
Unmasked, p. 97).
23. Shall we for the sake of policy, betray
a sacred trust? If the world is in error
and delusion, breaking the law of God,
is it not our duty to show them their
sin and danger? We must proclaim the
third angel's message. {CW 95.1}
What is the Sentinel for, but to be
the voice of the watchmen on the walls
of Zion, to sound the danger signal.
CW - Counsels to Writers and Editors {Page 95.1}
24. Let it be understood that Seventh-day
Adventists can make no compromise. In your
opinions and faith there must not be the least
appearance of wavering; the world has a right
to know what to expect of us, and will look
upon us as dishonest, as hiding our real
sentiments and principles out of policy, if we
carry even the semblance of being
uncommitted till the popular voice has pointed
out the safe way. The Comforter, the Holy
Spirit, which Christ said He would send into
the world, was to bear an unwavering
testimony. {CW 95.2}
25. A new order of things has come into the ministry. There
is a desire to pattern after other churches, and simplicity
and humility are almost unknown. The young ministers
seek to be original, and to introduce new ideas and new
plans for labor. Some open revival meetings, and by this
means call large numbers into the church. But when the
excitement is over, where are the converted ones?
Repentance and confession of sin are not seen. The
sinner is entreated to believe in Christ and accept Him,
without regard to his past life of sin and rebellion. The
heart is not broken. There is no contrition of soul. The
supposed converted ones have not fallen upon the
Rock, Christ Jesus. {2SM 18.4}

Chap. 1 - Warnings Against Sensational Teachings and Emotional Religion
The Old and New Testament Scriptures show
us the only way in which this work should be
done. Repent, repent, repent was the
message rung out by John the Baptist in the
wilderness. Christ's message to the people
was "Except ye repent, ye shall all likewise
perish" (Luke 13:5). And the apostles were
commanded to preach everywhere that men
should repent. {2SM 19.1}
27. The Lord desires His servants today to preach the old gospel
doctrine, sorrow for sin, repentance, and confession. We want old-
fashioned sermons, old-fashioned customs, old-fashioned fathers
and mothers in Israel. The sinner must be labored for,
perseveringly, earnestly, wisely, until he shall see that he is a
transgressor of God's law, and shall exercise repentance toward
God and faith toward the Lord Jesus Christ. --Undated Manuscript

Evangelism (1946) Chap. 7 - The Message and its Presentation
28. The work of Christ is to draw men from the false and
spurious to the true and genuine. "He that followeth me shall
not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life." [JOHN
8:12.] There is no danger of going into error while we follow
in the footsteps of "the Light of the world." We are to work
the works of Christ. We must engage heart and soul in his
service; we must search the word of life, and present it to
others. We must educate the people to realize the importance
of its teaching, and the danger of deviating from its plain
commands. {CE 121.1}

rejection of the Lord of glory, because they knew
not the Scriptures, nor the power of God. A great
work is before us,--to lead men to take God's
word as the rule of their lives, to make no
compromise with tradition and custom, but to
walk in all the commandments and ordinances of
the Lord.

Chap. 15 - The Value of Bible Study.
30. Many urge that by uniting with worldlings and conforming
to their customs they might exert a stronger influence
over the ungodly. But all who pursue this course thereby
separate from the Source of their strength. Becoming the
friends of the world, they are the enemies of God. For the
sake of earthly distinction they sacrifice the unspeakable
honor to which God has called them, of showing forth the
praises of Him who hath called us out of darkness into His
marvelous light. 1 Peter 2:9. {PP 607.2}

31. What was the origin of the great apostasy?
How did the church first depart from the
simplicity of the gospel? By conforming to
the practices of paganism, to facilitate the
acceptance of Christianity by the heathen.
The apostle Paul declared, even in his day,
"The mystery of iniquity doth already work."

32. During the lives of the apostles
the church remained
comparatively pure. But "toward
the latter end of the second
century most of the churches
assumed a new form; the first
simplicity disappeared, and
insensibly, as the old disciples
retired to their graves, their
children, along with new
converts, . . . came forward and
new-modeled the cause."--

Researches, ch. 6, par. 17, p.

33. To secure converts, the exalted standard of the
Christian faith was lowered, and as the result "a
pagan flood, flowing into the church, carried with it
its customs, practices, and idols." --Gavazzi,
Lectures, page 278.
As the Christian religion secured the favor and
support of secular rulers, it was nominally
accepted by multitudes; but while in appearance
Christians, many "remained in substance pagans,
especially worshiping in secret their idols."--Ibid.,

34. Chap. 30 - Enmity Between Man and Satan
GC - The Great Controversy (1911)
Conformity to worldly customs converts the
church to the world; it never converts the world
to Christ. Familiarity with sin will inevitably cause
it to appear less repulsive.
HP - In Heavenly Places (1967)
Chap. 162 - No Partnership with the
World
Conformity to the world will never be the means
of converting the world to Christ. {HP 168.2}
He who chooses to associate with the servants
of Satan will soon cease to fear their master.
When in the way of duty we are brought into
trial, as was Daniel in the king's court, we may
be sure that God will protect us; but if we place
ourselves under temptation we shall fall
sooner or later. {GC 509.1}
35. A profession of religion has become popular with
the world. Rulers, politicians, lawyers, doctors,
merchants, join the church as a means of securing
the respect and confidence of society, and
advancing their own worldly interests. Thus they
seek to cover all their unrighteous transactions
under a profession of Christianity. The various
religious bodies, re-enforced by the wealth and
influence of these baptized worldlings, make a still
higher bid for popularity and patronage. Splendid
churches, embellished in the most extravagant
manner, are erected on popular avenues. {GC 386.1}

36. The worshipers array themselves in costly and
fashionable attire. A high salary is paid for a
talented minister to entertain and attract the
people. His sermons must not touch popular sins,
but be made smooth and pleasing for fashionable
ears. Thus fashionable sinners are enrolled on the
church records, and fashionable sins are
concealed under a pretense of godliness.

37. Robert Schuller: Quotes from Self-Esteem:
The New Reformation
…the church’s problem is that it has had a
God-centred theology for centuries, when it
needs a man-centred one; we’re not bad,
merely badly informed about how good we
are; it would be an insult to the integrity of
any human beings to call him a sinner...’

38. If you lower the standard in order to secure
popularity and an increase of numbers, and
then make this increase a cause of rejoicing,
you show great blindness. If numbers were
evidence of success, Satan might claim the
pre-eminence; for, in this world, his followers
are largely in the majority. It is the degree of
moral power pervading the College, that is a
test of its prosperity. It is the virtue,
intelligence, and piety of the people
composing our churches, not their numbers,
that should be a source of joy and
thankfulness. {CE 42.1}

42. A cunning and cruel foe attends our steps, and is working
every moment, with all his strength and skill, to turn us from
the right way. Ever since he succeeded in overcoming our first
parents in their beautiful Eden home, he has been engaged in
this work. More than six thousand years of continual practice
has greatly increased his skill to deceive and allure. On the
other hand, he who once yields to temptation becomes
spiritually weak, and yields more readily the second time.
Every repetition of sin blinds his eyes, stifles conviction, and
weakens his power of resistance. Thus while the power of the
human race to resist temptation is continually decreasing,
Satan's skill and power to tempt are continually increasing.
This is one great reason why the temptations of the last days
will be more severe than those of any other age. {ST,

Chap. 7. - Country Living
Character Development Easier in the Country
Parents flock with their families to the cities
because they fancy it easier to obtain a livelihood
there than in the country. The children, having
nothing to do when not in school, obtain a street
education. From evil associates they acquire habits
of vice and dissipation.--5T 232 (1882). {LDE 97.3}
Send the children to schools located in the city,
where every phase of temptation is waiting to attract
and demoralize them, and the work of character
building is tenfold harder for both parents and
children.--FE 326 (1894). {LDE 98.1}
