Georgian culture and heritage is rich and diverse, as demonstrated through several aspects that would be included in a time capsule. Georgian hospitality and the welcoming nature of the people, as documented by famous visitors to the country, show the open and generous spirit of the nation. Elements of traditional Georgian culture like polyphonic folk songs, emotive dances, and the distinctive architecture would provide a sense of the country's artistic legacy and unique cultural practices that have been passed down through generations.
1. SOLE GEORGIA
If all of the world’s cultural heritage
(sports, music, fashion, architecture, literature, painting, etc..) was
contained in a time of capsule, what would you include to
demonstrate the legacy of your country?
2. I would like the whole of Georgia to be put in
this capsule. To keep Georgian authenticity
and incredible spirit.
I would like to keep it for next generations
and for everybody, who would to know
GEORGIA, and visit my favourite country, my
Motherland.

“The Caucasus Travel" , the non-fiction travel
impression book by Alexandre Dumas, the French
writer
…Georgian people love to give what others love to receive
What do you think about Georgians? – asked Alexandre
Dumas to baron Fino, French Council, who has been living
in Georgia for 3 years already:
…People without flaws, with all good features.
This is one of the stories from the “The Caucasus Travel”
- once in Georgia Dumas liked the trousers of one of the
Georgian princes, and the prince immediately pull them
off and presented to Alexandre.

5. Georgian folk
polyphonic songs
In Georgia, it is primarily the men who do the singing.
A typical Georgian song is sung as a cappella by men, in three voices.
The barbarous invasions of Mongols as well as Turkish and Persian
wars in XIII century ended the Golden Age of Georgia. Its rich cultural
life which flourished before during the Queen Tamar times was
brought into decay. Throughout the centuries only several examples
of ancient musical culture could reach us.
In Georgian culture polyphonic singing has been preserved as a
vital part of the national identity.
The singers of a classic Georgian song should possess highly specific skills and are required
to know the complex canons which were passed from one generation to another.
These canons form a distinctive music school.
Only several examples of classic Georgian Polyphony with its music dialects
– Svan, Mingrelian, Gurian, Kakhetian reached our times.
