Solar energy is a self-replenishing form of renewable energy that is captured from the sun through solar panels, which collect heat or photons from sunlight to create electricity using photovoltaic cells, and concentrated solar power systems that intensify sunlight to generate heat; the electricity is then either stored in battery backup systems or fed into the electric grid.
