This document summarizes a presentation given by Karoliina Auvinen of the FinSolar project on solar energy in Finland. The FinSolar project aims to boost solar energy market growth in Finland by identifying challenges and proposing solutions related to financing and regulation. It partners with municipalities, companies, associations and others to develop solar PV and collector projects. Several case studies are presented that show returns on investment for solar projects ranging from 6-11%, which compare favorably to other investment options. However, the document concludes that while solar energy is already feasible in Finland, market growth could be improved with more supportive policies like investment aid programs and expanded tax deductions for renewable energy installations.
