• EXEED provides a framework for EED for both new projects
and upgrades underpinned by IS 399
• Funding
– Stage 1: Grant assistance for Professional Fees 50%

– Up to €500k per org. per year
• The grant level may be extended by 20% for small enterprises
and 10% for medium enterprises.

• SEAI’s largest grant scheme (up to €23m in 2019)
• Focus on cross-community retrofits (business,

• Client must be an SME
– Under 250 employees
– Turnover less than €50 million
• Grant can help SMEs save 60% or more on their lighting costs
• Average Payback of 2.5 years
• Scheduled to open in April
• Grant for 30% of eligible costs (product and installation)

17. Dairy Farm Grant
• Grant for the replacement or retrofitting of your existing
vacuum and milk pump systems
• Covers both single and three phase supplies
• Maximum level of support up to 40% ranging from €1,000
for Milk Systems up to €5,000 for Vacuum Systems
• Closing on 29th March so lodge your application now!

18. Support Scheme for Renewable Heat
• To support the replacement of fossil fuel heating systems with renewable fuel in large heat demand
non-domestic users.
– Agriculture, commercial, public service, industrial & district heating (but not single domestic)
• Requirements:
– Eligible heat uses – space, water and process (some uses will be excluded)
– Must demonstrate efficient use of heat (fabric first)
– Sustainability standards will apply for fuels & emissions
– Grant for heat pumps (30%) OR
– Ongoing (15 year) tariff payment for useful & eligible heat for AD/biogas or biomass

• Programme to support Energy RD&D

• Funding from 25% up to 100% depending on
organisation and research activity

• €100,000 for projects of less than one year

Obligation Scheme
Under the EEOS, 11 energy suppliers must support energy
efficiency projects in businesses and homes across Ireland
Support can be:
• Financial (typically payment per kWh saved)
• Technical (typically engineering services)
