trying to run a business!”

curmudgeon before him, he will eventually
realize the power of social media as a marketing
tool - but at what cost?
• Customers don’t want to be advertised to.
• Customers don’t want to be sold.
• The decision-making process is not made in the
presence of a sales person or influenced by an offer, it is
made on line through research, reviews, references and
made with a solution in mind.
• For most businesses 60% of the buying decision is made
before the first contact is initiated by the buyer.
• In real estate that % is even higher – 92% start the
search for a home (or realtor to sell their home) on line.
• Social selling is about attracting (pulling) buyers not
pushing a product or service.
• Social selling is about providing value, delivering
worthwhile content, answering questions, and being
a resource to make the buying process simpler.
• Social selling is not about presenting an offer or
giving a discount, or “come in today and today
only”.
• RESEARCH to be RELEVANT – creating and/or
curating content
• Build RELATIONSHIPS – grow your audience with
meaningful connections
• Drive REVENUE – by becoming the resource for
solving problems, simplifying the real estate

content and content creators!

• Content Gems – another great source where you

• Houzz – all things home services!
• Quotes
• Use hashtags to create and find great content:

• Share your favorite websites for home information – like
Houzz, Pinterest pages you have created or liked. . .
• “A day in the life” complete with pictures and your thoughts
throughout the day
• Ask – simple basic questions, for advice, fill in the __________
posts, (the best way to engage a conversation is to ask a
question, isn’t it?)
• Share up-to-date mortgage information, real estate market
fluctuations, home service or design ideas, to show your
relevancy and depth as a resource
• Your website – think about blogging!
• Create video of your thoughts and ideas about the industry –
think about vlogging!
• LinkedIn – how linked are you?
• Facebook business page (or some call it your fan page)
• Twitter- do you tweet?
• Google + - for SEO
• YouTube – get your own media channel!
• Pinterest – it is about the pictures ladies!
