Where has all the top talent gone? In the past, the people we wanted to hire for our companies were plentiful and easy to find. Lately, their skills are all wrong, and keeping the talent we already have is harder and harder as well. It may seem counterintuitive to look to social media marketing and branding for the answers, but at its heart, HR and social media are both about relationships. During this session, the managing director of social and talent strategies at an IT professional services firm will help you build a strategic framework for social media planning. You'll find out how to define your employer brand, ways to perform and employer brand audit on social media, what a social careers page can do to energize your company's reputation, and how to measure the success of your employer branding efforts to command the attention of your company's C-suite executives.

Internet on viimeisen 10 vuoden aikana muuttunut hyvästä tukimediasta päämediaksi. Yritysten tulisi lyhytkestoisten nettikampanjoiden sijaan pyrkiä rakentamaan pitkäkestoisia, kohderyhmille relevantteja omia sisältöjä sekä palveluita. Nettiä katsotaan yhä useammin pelkän lukemisen sijaan.

The Business Value of Social Media Monitoring by @DrNatalie Petouhoff Dr. Natalie Petouhoff
Wondering how social media affects your business? Wondering if you should use social media monitoring and listening tools? In this presentation is a case study on how Netflix didn't listen to social media sentiment and made business decisions that caused the stock price to drop dramatically.
It also analyzes Blockbuster and some ways that they also could have used social media monitoring to prevent bankruptcy and also how they did use it to capture some of the Netflix customers who were looking to leave.
The data in the case study is from Sysomos and provides not just data, but shows how social media data provides business insights that impact business decisions.
Included is John Boyd, a former fighter pilot and the creator of the OODA Loop - Observe, Orient, Decide & Act process. How this applies to business is --determining whether businesses are using social media data --like fighter pilots use data-- to be agile and make critical decisions in seconds vs using data on a yearly basis to evaluate the direction of the company.
Companies can't afford to miss these points but many do. Don't let your company be one of them that doesn't OODA!

December 2012: Member Prospecting – Fishing in the Right Ponds (Member Engage...Tuvel Communications
Associations want marketing to create new members at a predictable cost. We hear a lot these days about the “Long Tail” with its untapped and micro-targeted prospecting segments such as government, healthcare, and education. Mass marketing models are not designed to go downstream or cost effectively reach these new, targeted member segments. In this webcast, you will learn how the core elements of influencer programs, online community building and social media are being used to cost effectively identify influencers and build relationships that produce loyal members and supporters. Mitch will also be sharing case studies and best practices for results-driven association programs, projects and campaigns. You will learn that reaching the promise of the Long Tail is hard but can be done using research, tools, analytics and the right people!
Journalists have a lot to learn from other disciplines about tracking what works. We're not used to gauging our success in ways more sophisticated than ratings or circulation numbers, and we're behind the measurement curve. But these days, it's hard to value what you can't measure. And as newsrooms grapple with how to make room in tight budgets for audience engagement, it's natural that they'd also wonder what the return on that investment might be.
Pr when the public does most of the relating by john bellJohn Bell
The truth is that our definition of “media” has exploded. Our idea of “influencers” has expanded. And effective communications has as much to do with building relationships through conversations and word of mouth as it does with marketing campaigns and message delivery. How do we create effective ommunications programs when peer-to-peer recommendations are the new form of “earned media”?

Enterprise Excellence is Inclusive Excellence.pdfKaiNexus
Enterprise excellence and inclusive excellence are closely linked, and real-world challenges have shown that both are essential to the success of any organization. To achieve enterprise excellence, organizations must focus on improving their operations and processes while creating an inclusive environment that engages everyone. In this interactive session, the facilitator will highlight commonly established business practices and how they limit our ability to engage everyone every day. More importantly, though, participants will likely gain increased awareness of what we can do differently to maximize enterprise excellence through deliberate inclusion.
What is Enterprise Excellence?
Enterprise Excellence is a holistic approach that's aimed at achieving world-class performance across all aspects of the organization.
What might I learn?
A way to engage all in creating Inclusive Excellence. Lessons from the US military and their parallels to the story of Harry Potter. How belt systems and CI teams can destroy inclusive practices. How leadership language invites people to the party. There are three things leaders can do to engage everyone every day: maximizing psychological safety to create environments where folks learn, contribute, and challenge the status quo.
Who might benefit? Anyone and everyone leading folks from the shop floor to top floor.
