more and more opportunity to get your name – or your product – out there in front
of as many eyes as possible. But it’s only worth taking the time to use social media if
you do it the right way.
Branding on social media isn’t just about setting up your accounts and getting a
design across each one. Every single post you make, every single reply you post,
every single piece of content you share is building your brand.Your social media
personality should be a reflection of your business personality, and that should stay
consistent from day to day.
Important things for successful branding:
Own the real estate -Think of your social media profiles like virtual shop fronts. Make sure that
you've locked down your virtual address long before you’re even thinking of putting something
there.Your profile names and URLs should be close to (or exactly match) your businesses name.
Be consistent -You want each of your social profiles to be unmistakably you, aligning with your
values, core message and brand voice. If you're a fun brand, create fun content.
Know the rules of each platform - Both visually and textually, there are different rules for each
social platform. For example, Facebook and Google+ have different banner size and text
limitations. So while your aim is for consistency, make the most out of every social profile rather
than finding the lowest common denominator.
Be relevant - Social media is about interaction and discussion. It's about what's happening right
now, so you need to ensure that your branding is relevant. For example, if you're about to launch
a new product, don't just post about it. Include it on your banner graphics so when new potential
fans visits, they know they’re in the right place

know "who's who" in his or her specialty field. Beyond that, headhunters need to know who makes up
the first-tier followers. This is a way to stay up to date with large base of contacts, to understand and
follow the real leaders by analyzing who is following whom on LinkedIn.

the timing of what is going on in people's lives, and the signals that they give off which demonstrate that
they are “recruitable.“
