A recent study found that over 90% of 18-24 year olds said they would trust health information they found on social media.
Let’s face the facts: we live in a digitally connected society where social apps replace traditional communication. Actively engaging on social media tells your patients you care, that you’re listening, and that you want to be involved in their health.
Here are six ways you can use social media tools to engage your patients.
The Healthcare Industry Can No Longer Ignore Social Media
As the healthcare industry continues to constantly change, it is extremely important that healthcare related organizations remain up-to-date and relevant in their industry. Today more than ever, people look to online sources for medical help before even contacting a doctor or other professional source. In fact, more than 40% of consumers say that information found via social media affects the way they deal with their health. Unfortunately, some online sources may not be as reliable as they should be, especially when it comes to someone’s health and wellness. With an influx of healthcare organizations available, finding a way to stand out in the industry can be challenging. Healthcare organizations need to take risks in order to stand out and stay ahead of the game. This is where social media comes in, and here’s why it can no longer be ignored!

It attracts and really engages consumers. Even better, it creates trust, and in-turn, brand loyalty. Now, who doesn’t want that?
But of course, as with many things, there’s a bad way, a good way, and the best way to go about it. Luckily, for our 3rd edition of Spotlight On, we’ll be shining a light on the latter.

In this session, Steve Reeves of DRG will outline the process by which pharma organizations are beginning to use social and other digital data sources collectively to drive insights across the enterprise. The session will provide context for the breadth by which pharma is beginning to create utility from social insights, touching multiple organizations across the enterprise, and finish with an example highlighting the depth of insights achieved by integrating emotional journey insights from social into a patient journey framework.
While pharma and healthcare companies may be limited by regulatory rules about what they can do with social media marketing, there is plenty they can and many companies have already jumped ahead. Here are some case studies of the best and why they work.

We Call It “Social Realization” — Reasserting Brand Influence within Social to Connect with Consumers
Chrissy Stanojev, Senior Social Media Strategist, MRM//McCANN
Consumers are content creators with high expectations from the brands they care about. They value peer connections, and peer influence is vital. Now more than ever, consumers have the ability to shape brands. And social has been the agent of change. Social Realization recognizes that social is not just a channel, platform, or a behavior, or even publishing content to a Facebook page. Social Realization is reasserting brand influence to connect with consumers. The success of Social Realization relies heavily on the relationship between an agency and a pharmaceutical company. It is crucial for a partnered agency to identify and understand the factors impacting the brand while keeping the brand’s reputation and safety at the forefront.
• Become a trusted partner through constant research and an in-depth knowledge of the brand(s), category and key trends impacting the market
• Stay in lock step with the latest social platform capabilities to enable rather than hinder Pharma’s presence in the social sphere

Over the past decade, the rise of social media has caused a huge shift in the way businesses interact with customers. Pharma, often thought of as a guarded industry when it comes to social, is upping its game and using social to reach a wide audience including patients and healthcare professionals.
In today's digital environment, it's important that we take a new approach the engaging patients and healthcare professionals. Learn three important ways to ensure a more focused and successful approach multi-channel pharmaceutical marketing.
Healthcare is undergoing a transformation. Consumers want to make informed choices and take control of their lives, and pharma companies must be ready to meet their needs. This means building a new healthcare ecosystem that places the patient at its center, with the “person” fully engaged in his or her own healthcare. But with this move to person-centric healthcare, payers and providers are no longer the main decision makers.
So what does this mean for today’s marketers?
In this exclusive Social On Us webinar we discuss:
- Where marketing is failing to address healthcare concerns
- How “big data” is a change-driver for a new healthcare ecosystem
- New opportunities for predictive and preventative medical intervention
- Impact of digital healthcare on patient privacy

Cultivating Pharma Patient Relationships in the Digital EraPerficient, Inc.
Patients are more empowered than ever to be advocates for their own health, which has led to a dramatic shift in their expectations of pharmaceutical and medical device companies. Patients now expect these companies to provide them with the kind of personalized advice, support, and tools they used to only get from their physicians.
This shift has created a unique opportunity for life sciences organizations to develop a direct relationship with the consumers of their products. In this SlideShare, Param Singh, director of clinical operations solutions at Perficient, shows how organizations can use strategy, technology, and design to establish themselves as an integral part of a patient’s health.

Improving Workplace Safety Performance in Malaysian SMEs: The Role of Safety ...AJHSSR Journal
ABSTRACT: In the Malaysian context, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) experience a significant
burden of workplace accidents. A consensus among scholars attributes a substantial portion of these incidents to
human factors, particularly unsafe behaviors. This study, conducted in Malaysia's northern region, specifically
targeted Safety and Health/Human Resource professionals within the manufacturing sector of SMEs. We
gathered a robust dataset comprising 107 responses through a meticulously designed self-administered
questionnaire. Employing advanced partial least squares-structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) techniques
with SmartPLS 3.2.9, we rigorously analyzed the data to scrutinize the intricate relationship between safety
behavior and safety performance. The research findings unequivocally underscore the palpable and
consequential impact of safety behavior variables, namely safety compliance and safety participation, on
improving safety performance indicators such as accidents, injuries, and property damages. These results
strongly validate research hypotheses. Consequently, this study highlights the pivotal significance of cultivating
safety behavior among employees, particularly in resource-constrained SME settings, as an essential step toward
enhancing workplace safety performance.

ABSTRACT: Although a significant amount of literature exists on Morocco's migration policies and their
successes and failures since their implementation in 2014, there is limited research on the integration of subSaharan African children into schools. This paperis part of a Ph.D. research project that aims to fill this gap. It
reports the main findings of a study conducted with migrant children enrolled in two public schools in Rabat,
Morocco, exploring how integration is defined by the children themselves and identifying the obstacles that they
have encountered thus far. The following paper uses an inductive approach and primarily focuses on the
relationships of children with their teachers and peers as a key aspect of integration for students with a migration
background. The study has led to several crucial findings. It emphasizes the significance of speaking Colloquial
Moroccan Arabic (Darija) and being part of a community for effective integration. Moreover, it reveals that the
use of Modern Standard Arabic as the language of instruction in schools is a source of frustration for students,
indicating the need for language policy reform. The study underlines the importanceof considering the
children‟s agency when being integrated into mainstream public schools.
