The African elephant is an endangered species facing extinction due to hunting and poaching for ivory, habitat loss, and decreasing populations. Poaching for ivory and trophy hunting is the main driver of their decline, reducing elephant numbers from millions to only thousands. As human settlements expanded, they claimed elephant habitats. Remaining elephants are further threatened as poachers still kill them for their rare and expensive ivory. Their numbers decreased by over 600,000 in just 20 years. Conservation efforts aim to protect these threatened giants.
This presentation discusses efforts to save tigers in India. It begins by acknowledging those who helped with the presentation. It then outlines threats to tigers such as hunting for money, medicine, and fame. It explains the importance of tigers in maintaining ecosystem balance and why their protection helps other animals and forests. The presentation also describes Project Tiger, a wildlife conservation program initiated in 1973 to protect Bengal tigers by creating tiger reserves. It concludes by listing some current tiger reserves and the number of tigers in each.
Camel milk has potential health benefits such as helping with allergies, autoimmune diseases, diabetes, and heart and immune health. It is similar in composition to human breastmilk and easier for the body to absorb than cow's milk due to smaller immunoglobulins. Camel milk's protein structure does not contain the proteins that often cause dairy allergies. It also has anti-inflammatory, antiviral, and antibacterial properties. Research indicates camel milk may help alleviate allergies and support immune function.
Gir National Park and Wildlife Sanctuary is located in Gujarat, India and is the sole home of the endangered Asiatic lion. It has a total area of 1412 km2 and supports over 2,375 distinct fauna species, including 38 mammal, 300 bird, and 37 reptile species. The park has seen increasing lion numbers through a government breeding program, with the population growing from 177 lions in 1968 to 523 lions as of 2015. However, the presence of villages within the forest puts pressure on the ecosystem by resulting in lion-human conflicts and disrupting wildlife habitat. Better management is needed to balance human activities and wildlife conservation.
The document discusses wildlife conservation in India. It defines wildlife and explains that wildlife conservation preserves ecosystem stability and provides many benefits. Threats to wildlife include habitat loss, pollution, hunting, and introduction of exotic species. The document outlines various protected areas in India like national parks, wildlife sanctuaries, biosphere reserves and measures taken for wildlife conservation including breeding programs, legal provisions like the Wildlife Protection Act of 1972, and the roles of organizations like IUCN.
The document discusses the 'Project Tiger' wildlife conservation initiative launched in India in 1973 to protect Bengal tigers. It aims to conserve tigers through specially designated tiger reserves across bio-geographical regions of India. The project strives to maintain viable tiger populations in their natural habitats.
There are approximately 350-400 Asiatic lions remaining, living solely in the Gir Forest of India. They face threats of poaching, genetic limitations, and falling into open wells surrounding the forest. Efforts are underway to barricade wells and protect the lions, but they remain critically endangered with only 1.7% of the world's lion population. Increased protection of the lions and cooperation with surrounding communities is needed for long-term conservation.

CROCODILE PROJECT ECOLOGY CONSERVATION OF CROCODILESJyotiSingh123388
The Indian Crocodile Conservation Project was launched in 1975 across several states to save three critically endangered crocodile species - gharials, muggers, and saltwater crocodiles. Through establishing breeding centers, collecting eggs from nests, incubating eggs, rearing hatchlings, and releasing juveniles, the project helped increase crocodile populations. It also contributed to broader conservation efforts and training. While the project achieved significant increases in saltwater crocodile numbers, gharial recovery in the Mahanadi River was less successful due to poor hatchling survival. The project demonstrated that with protection and management, crocodile populations could recover from the brink of extinction.

WWF's mission is the conservation of nature and protection of endangered species like giant pandas. They work to protect habitat, promote sustainable use of resources, and reduce pollution. Their goal by 2020 is to conserve 19 important natural places and change markets to protect nature. For pandas, WWF conducts research, builds reserves, trains staff, and supports alternative livelihoods to reduce threats to the species. As a result, panda numbers and protected habitat have increased significantly.
Students conducted a project to raise awareness about human activities that are disturbing wildlife. They observed that humans hunt animals for fun, kill them due to misguided beliefs, and pollute the environment with plastic waste. This harms animals and disrupts ecosystems. To address these issues, the students decided to adopt animals, participate in conservation programs, and educate others about protecting wildlife and preventing extinction. Their goal is to promote humane treatment of animals and preservation of natural habitats.

The document discusses how wildlife has benefited from reduced human activity during the COVID-19 pandemic. Some examples given include increased breeding among pandas in Hong Kong and more olive ridley sea turtles on beaches in India. It argues that preserving ecosystems by shifting away from practices like mining and toward green alternatives can help wildlife prosper while also providing economic opportunities and health benefits to humans from animal-derived medicines. However, it clarifies that the pandemic should still be addressed through measures like social distancing and not allowed to continue indefinitely.

Discussion 1 by Sravya Patil Bagli
(a) What is the purpose of what this study is trying to accomplish?
This article addresses underreporting of medication errors by the employees of Medcare hospital. The purpose of this study was to explore medication error reporting rate and determine reasons why Quality Management Department (QMD) was not receiving the reports. Also, the intent was to identify and correct the barriers and attitudes among staff that are preventing them from reporting the errors. Thereby, facilitating the issues that helps in improvement of patient safety and achieving better health care (Jacobson, 2015).
(b) What is the process(es) or activities involved in the response to a?
Medcare has selected nine members based on their involvement in the error reporting to form a team. They are involved in a model called FOCUS PDCA (PDCA = Plan, Do, Check, Act). Firstly, the team worked together to find out the causes for errors and clarify the error reporting process and later, the team interviewed the staff to know the reasons for underreporting. In the second step, the team developed solutions and ranked them to highlight the most effective ones. The highest-ranked were then incorporated into the action plan. The final step was to focus on improvement - everyone participated to continue the proposed solutions and checked the room for improvement. Since then, a drastic improvement has been evident in the error reporting of Medcare indicating that the study was successful.
(c) What is the purpose of measuring and reporting performance?
The purpose of measuring performance is to encourage individual productivity in the organization and to improve work efficiency. It helps to eliminate the unproductive employees and recognizes the strong performers and continue to motivate them. Also, it helps the organization understand how decision-making process led to success or failure in the past and how that understanding would help to make further improvements.
(d) What is the purpose of reporting quality measurement data?
The purpose of quality measurement is to examine the appropriateness of care and accuracy of the organization. It is generally known that quality is directly linked to improvement, it helps to discuss the link between measurement and improvement. Therefore, filling the gaps that compromised the ability of management to provide expected quality.
Discussion 2 by Israel Moore

TIGER
We are Fading
We are only 2500 in numbers
Tigers sightings have become quite rare these days in India , reason being that they possess numerous medicinal and magical properties for which they are killed.
Efforts are continuously made to preserve these magnificent predators from extinction.
Project Tiger scheme is one of them. It has been under implementation since 1973 as a Centrally Sponsored Scheme of the Government of India.
The aim of project tiger to ensure a viable population of tigers in India for economic, aesthetic, cultural and ecological values and to preserve areas of biological importance as natural heritage.
There are 49 tiger reserves in India, which are governed by Project Tiger and administered by the National Tiger Conservation Authority.
In 2006 there was 1411 tigers which increased to 1706 in 2011 and 2226 in 2014. According to Latest official count, the number has increased up to 2500 in 2016.
STEPS TO STOP the declining population of tigers
Creative awareness
Stop poaching and don’t encourage poachers
Severe punishment for poachers
Ban the goods made of tiger skin
Protect forests
Support accredited zoos and wildlife sanctuaries
Donate money to tiger conservation organizations.

The document outlines plans for an awareness campaign called "Save the Tigers" organized by Aircel mobile services. It discusses:
1) The objectives of raising national awareness and encouraging conservation of tigers.
2) Target audiences including students, government officials, rural communities near tiger reserves.
3) Elements of the campaign including conferences, social media engagement, contests, road trips to tiger reserves, and celebrity involvement.
4) Logistics, budgets, and risk mitigation measures for different events and aspects of the campaign.
Wildlife tourism involves observing and interacting with local animal and plant life in their natural habitats. It is an important part of tourism in many countries. Some examples of wildlife sanctuaries in India include Parambikulam in Kerala and Gir in Gujarat. Wildlife tourism can positively impact conservation through habitat restoration, breeding endangered species, donations, research, and deterring poaching. However, it also risks damaging the environment, exploiting local communities, and prioritizing profits over preservation. Suggestions to improve wildlife tourism in Kerala include increasing awareness, transportation, shopping facilities, and introducing new activities.
The World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) was established in 1961 in Switzerland and has grown to over 5 million followers worldwide. It has established research stations around the world and uses advertising and celebrity endorsements to promote conservation. Major achievements include saving the southern white rhino population from fewer than 20 individuals to over 17,500, and increasing panda habitats in China. While COVID-19 has reduced donations and tourism income that supports conservation, WWF continues working to protect wildlife, reduce carbon emissions, and preserve forests.

From Hope to Despair: The Top 10 Reasons Businesses Ditch SEO Tactics
Are you tired of seeing your business's online visibility plummet from hope to despair? When it comes to SEO tactics, many businesses find themselves grappling with challenges that lead them to abandon their strategies altogether. In a digital landscape that's constantly evolving, staying on top of SEO best practices is crucial to maintaining a competitive edge.
In this blog, we delve deep into the top 10 reasons why businesses ditch SEO tactics, uncovering the pain points that may resonate with you:
1. Algorithm Changes: The ever-changing algorithms can leave businesses feeling like they're chasing a moving target. Search engines like Google frequently update their algorithms to improve user experience and provide more relevant search results. However, these updates can significantly impact your website's visibility and ranking if you're not prepared.
2. Lack of Results: Investing time and resources without seeing tangible results can be disheartening. The absence of immediate results often leads businesses to lose faith in their SEO strategies. It's important to remember that SEO is a long-term game that requires patience and consistent effort.
3. Technical Challenges: From site speed issues to complex metadata implementation, technical hurdles can be daunting. Overcoming these challenges is crucial for SEO success, as technical issues can hinder your website's performance and user experience.
4. Keyword Competition: Fierce competition for top keywords can make it hard to rank effectively. Businesses often struggle to find the right balance between targeting high-traffic keywords and finding less competitive, niche keywords that can still drive significant traffic.
5. Lack of Understanding of SEO Basics: Many businesses dive into the complex world of SEO without fully grasping the fundamental principles. This lack of understanding can lead to several issues:
Keyword Awareness: Failing to recognize the importance of keyword research and targeting the right keywords in content.
On-Page Optimization: Ignorance regarding crucial on-page elements such as meta tags, headers, and content structure.
Technical SEO Best Practices: Overlooking essential aspects like site speed, mobile responsiveness, and crawlability.
Backlinks: Not understanding the value of high-quality backlinks from reputable sources.
Analytics: Failing to track and analyze data prevents businesses from optimizing their SEO efforts effectively.
6. Unrealistic Expectations and Timeframe: Entrepreneurs often fall prey to the allure of quick fixes and overnight success. Unrealistic expectations can overshadow the reality of the time and effort needed to see tangible results in the highly competitive digital landscape. SEO is a long-term strategy, and setting realistic goals is crucial for success.

that most of the people are unaware of the declining population.

• They find wildlife sanctuaries as part of their recreation place, where they
neither concerned about any particular animals.

be vulnerable group.

• Creating awareness through digital marketing platforms, where aiming to
conserve the forest reserves.
• Conserving forest reserves leads to increase the breeding facilities.
• It in turn leads to increase in population.
• Around 500 Asiatic lions are found in the world, mostly in India (Gujarat).

Deputy Director of Arignar Anna Zoological Park
• Knowing the situation about the Asiatic Lion, what campaigns and
support can be provided by students?
• Every individual can work for the welfare of the wildlife, more students step forward for NSS
activities in the zoo.
• Also students create awareness program about the endangered species using posters
(online/offline). And these are distributed to the visitors(target people)
• Even student can interact with the visitors on a program called “Be a keeper a Day”
• What can be the external barrier/force for the campaign
• Medical facility will be one of the reason on wildlife sanctuary/zoo. Hence a wildlife hospital

• We were able to obtain the visitor information about the
zoo from the http://www.aazoopark.in/visitors-info.php
• Hence from the secondary data we are able to infer there
is
cumulative increase of 15 – 20% every year for visitors
and
huge increase in the revenue.
• On the count of visitors, if people were created awareness
over the social issue, it will create good impact.
• Over the direct survey with the people in vandalur zoo, we
found that more people are not aware of the fact that
nearly
50% of species in zoo are endangered .
14. Strategy Formulation from the research
• Over the secondary data we found that there is a constant increase in the
visitors. From the secondary data, we found that more number of people are
not aware of the endangered species in the zoo.
• People visiting the zoo are educated about the endangered species and
details can be made in zoo museum.
• The awareness is created to the visitors by explaining them with the posters.
Even spread through online.
