Relationships 101 Dating - is it Biblical?cebrooks50
In our day, dating arrangements are made entirely by young people apart from their parent’s involvement. The date is planned by young people with an expectation of physical intimacy. The couple knows that intimacy is going to happen; all that is not known is the measure, or the regularity of physical intimacy. Our young women are left very vulnerable. Without her father's protection, she alone must determine how far she and the boy goes, and that determination is most often made in the heat of the moment. Furthermore, there is no commitment beyond the next date. The focus is on the “now” and immediate, mutual gratification. Most of the time there is sex with no commitment. In our next installment of the series, Relationships 101 we will be searching the Scriptures to answer the question, “Dating…Is it Biblical?”
To Everything There Is a Season, Part 2 (LDS)Mike Fitzgerald
This presentation is the second part of a three-part presentation focusing on LDS standards in dating for youth. It also discussed the importance of love and respect as the foundation for love.

Relationships 101 Biblical Courtship and Marriagecebrooks50
These slides contain a brief introduction to biblical courtship. But be warned. What you are about to see may sound archaic, outdated, old-fashioned, ancient and very technical. Much of what Pastor Chuck Brooks is going to share is from a culture that has gone extinct in the United States but, be assured, the principals of courtship are found in God’s timeless and Holy Word. In its day biblical courtship kept many boys and girls from being sexually active before the age of 18. It kept millions of teenagers from getting pregnant annually. It kept pregnancies from ending in abortion. It kept many of our young women from becoming the victims of “date-rape.” Let’s revisit Relationships 101 from the biblical text.
This lesson will:
• Compare two lineages to show the relationship between family-building and nation-building.
• Show that a clear conscience is rooted in true love, life and lineage.
• Explain the relationship of and interaction between lineage and marriage.
• Demonstrate that honoring lineage is an important practice that will strengthen a couple’s marriage and a family’s destiny (and vice versa).

2. SOC200 Marriage and Family DEVOTION 1 If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing. 4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 1 Corinthians 13:1-6, NIV
3. SOC200 Marriage and Family DEVOTION 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. 12 Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. 13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. 1Corinthians 13:1-6, NIV
