Atopic Dermatitis
Disease or Disorder of the eye: Cataract
A cataract is a clouding of the lens of the eyes, causing the vision to be blurry. It is caused by
protein clumping together in the lens forming a small clouded area; even though it isn t painful
within time, it can grow larger making it harder to see. It is commonly found in older people. It
can occur in either or both eyes; however cannot spread from one eye to another. In age related
cataract can affect your vision in two ways clumps of protein or lens slowly colors with age.
Even though cataract forms while you re aging, people can have it in their 40s 50s; however,
majority of it is small and doesn t affect the vision much. It s usually after the age of 60, it blocks

It is the most common kind of eczema. However, it isn t a contagious disease so you can t catch or

Atopic dermatitis is commonly found in babies and children, but can happen to anyone. Those
who lives in cities and dry climates is more likely to develop this disease. This disease can go away
or improve in children; however, if it isn t it ll become a problem in adulthood.
The cause of it is still unknown, but theoretically it can be caused by the environmental factors
and genetics. Sometimes those that have the skin disease can develop hay fever and asthma. The
diagnosis of atopic dermatitis can be found by its symptoms. Each symptoms can change over
time, so a medical history would be asked from the doctor to look for causes of symptoms, rule
out other disease, know when the symptom occurs and learn about your symptoms. They can ask

Sociological Concepts In The Film American Sniper
The film American Sniper portrays the life of a US Navy S.E.A.L. sniper Chris Kyle who was
deployed to Iraq after the events of 9/11. The movie shows the life of Kyle before his deployment
to Iraq. He was a Texan rodeo cowboy who later joined the military after watching a news film of an
attack on a US embassy. After passing his BUD/s as a S.E.A.L., he meets Taya at a bar who later
becomes his wife. After the attack on the World Trade Center, Kyle s team is deployed to Iraq
and is
assigned to take out Al Qaeda forces. During Kyle s deployment, he faced challenging moments
where both himself and his comrades were in danger. His duty as a sniper was to take out
hostile people who were a threat to the Marines, even children. Kyle then begins to develop a
case of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, though he is unwillingly to accept it. His wife Taya
begins to worry for him because of his slow inability to assimilate back into civilian life. After
completing his four tours in Iraq, he retires from the military and returns home as well as helping
other veterans with PTSD. However, Kyle was later killed by a veteran whom he tried to help.
Throughout the film, many sociological concepts were seen in the movie. Symbolic interactionism,
values, mores, coercion, gender socialization, and total institutions were apparent in the film.
Symbolic interactionism is defined as a theoretical perspective in which society is viewed as
composed of symbols that people use to establish meaning,

Michael Anthony s Murder Was Not A Random Act
Going to school, attending college, and getting married are a few of the many activities Caylee
Anthony will never get to experience. When Caylee went missing and was later found dead in
2008, her entire future ended abruptly. Whether the Anthony family murdered Caylee as a
scapegoat for their own problems or Caylee s death was a tragic accident, no one was convicted for
her death. Although never brought to court, evidence suggests George Anthony killed his
granddaughter, Caylee, and manipulated the evidence to direct the public s eye away from himself.
Caylee Anthony s murderwas not a random act, but rather an exact plan that was put into place
leading up to and after her death. When she disappeared in July 2008, Caylee Anthony was two
years old and her mother, Casey Anthony, was an outgoing twenty two year old. Due to Casey s
frequent partying and drinking, she claimed the identity of Caylee s father was unknown, but he
may have died in a car crash before Caylee s birth. While the father of Caylee is unclear, Casey s
grandparents, George and Cindy Anthony, were highly involved in Caylee s life. In Orlando,
Florida, the Anthony familycarried on their lives as normal until July 2008 when Cindy called 911
reporting I found out my granddaughter has been taken, she has been missing for a month
(Escherich). On that hot summer day, the Anthony household was changed forever. Immediately,
Casey Anthony was questioned for not reporting Caylee s disappearance for over a

Rosea Lake Judgments Analysis

Rosea Lake s Judgments
Judgements, a photograph captured by Rosea Lake, can be seen as an attempt to address the double
standard women face when presenting themselves to the world. The photo depicts the back of a
young woman s leg with her skirt hem slightly lifted. Horizontal markings on the subject s leg are
reminiscent of those on a measuring cup or ruler. The markings on the woman s leg are meant to be
length markings, specifically the length of a woman s garment hem. The horizontal markings don t
mark specific length measurements, such as centimeters or inches. Rather, the markings depict how
a sexist mainstream society would react to seeing such skirt lengths on young women. ... Show

It s to the point, aesthetically pleasing, and brings to light an issue that isn t often discussed in
mainstream media. It also disproves a common antifeminist stereotype that all feminists are
hairy, butch man hatters, because the subject is a slender, hairless, assumingly attractive white
women. However, though I admire the piece and the message it shares, I do find myself
disgruntled with it. As a feminist, intersectionality is very important to me. I love supporting
women of all shapes, sizes, races, backgrounds, ages, social status, geographical location, and
specific circumstance. Though the issue of sexual objectification is a problem many women
face, this seems like amn issue that s specific to young, middle class women living in first world
countries, specifically America. Additionally, sexual objectification may be perceived
differently, and typically more severely, pending on weight, size, or race. Since the subject is an
able bodied, slender, white women, I m not sure if I feel like it s showing the most accurate
depiction of your average victim of sexual objectification. Though it may not be the most
representative depiction, I can only assume that Lake s intentions were good when creating this
piece of art, and I think she made her point well. I believe that Rosea Lake s Judgements is an
important part of feminist media, and it sets the grounds for further discussion about how else
women are treated inferiorly to

Suicide In Romeo And Juliet Essay
One of the most famous and most controversial love stories is the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet
by William Shakespeare. It is the tale of two youthful lovers who are morosely born into two
families who have been enemies for decades. The story closes with Romeo and Juliet both dead;
both victims to a gruesome duo suicide. The pair both commit suicide because of the struggle of
them not being approved to be together by their families. The catastrophe can be blamed three
different ways: on Friar Lawrence, on the Capulet family, and on the Montague family. All three of
these accusations are truthful, because all three of them have a part in the misfortune that could
have influenced the outcome. The blame can be placed on Friar Lawrence because he had the
chance to unite the two families, but instead he allows the elaborate plan to develop. Primitively, he
married the pair in hopes to unite the two families through their love. But, the plan changed after
Romeo is banished. Friar Lawrence devises an... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Lord and Lady Capulet are the parents of young Juliet. The Capulets have always hated the
Montagues, and the generations of Capulets to come are all supposed to hate the Montagues.
This is the reason Juliet felt her relationship with Romeo had to be concealed. Lord and Lady
Capulet also influence the tragedy greatly by forcing Juliet to marry Paris that Thursday when
she is still grieving over Romeo being banished to Mantua. Lord Capulet declares that he will
disown Juliet if she does not wed Paris. This action is the reason that Juliet seeks help from Friar
Lawrence. If the Capulets were not so forceful with Juliet, she probably would not have been
desperate enough to perform Friar Lawrence s plan. Had she not preformed Friar Lawrence s plan,
none of the final deaths would have transpired. Reflecting on these reasons, it is clear how the
Capulet family could have been responsible for the ending

Bandura s Social Learning Theory
Some of the things we overlook at times are the things that make the most sense in the world.
Something like the social learning theory was overlooked. But it has provided such great insight
as to why we do certainly in our lives. Bandura s theory has paved the way to many studies and
has open our minds to the possibility that we affect each other in a way we would not imagine. I
believe that this theory can shape a lot of people s lives. I agree with Albert Banduras social learning
theory by modeling and in this paper, I will present an argument that outlines the reasons why. I like
Bandura s social learning theory. The social learning theory states that Behavior...is learned of
other people...people who deviate from cultural norms have learned their behavior in the same
way. (Schultz Schultz, 2009, p.403 404). This theory can bring a lot of awareness to the
families who feel that their action or behaviors won t have any effect on the child. This theory
also holds a lot of substance. My cousin who is five years old is cursing and that is because of
his father who has no filter especially with the kids. He believes that they are too young and they
won t understand what he is telling them but in actuality, my cousin is modeling his behavior. I
feel if this theory is well known parents and another role model will understand how much power
they have over people. I agree with the social learning theory because I find that it holds some truth
to it. we may

Essay On 911 Dispatch Center
The organization that I have selected is the 911 dispatch center that I worked for prior to my
retirement (sadly I am not permitted to identify it). The work at the dispatch center entails
answering and processing both emergency and non emergency phone lines and dispatching local
agencies for both emergent and non emergent calls for service. The features of the BMG that I
will be looking at for this paper are the development and assignment of the organization s daily
routines and the organization s socialization procedures. In the dispatch center, there are specific
protocols that are followed when answering a ringing phone line, regardless whether it is a 911
line or a non emergency line. The first thing a new dispatcher is taught... Show more content on

In order to confirm that call takers and dispatchers are handling calls appropriately and dispatching
units correctly and in a timely fashion, the organization conducts quality assurance checks or QA s.
This involves the administration accessing a sampling of calls taken and dispatched by each
employee. The calls are then compared to the EMD questions to ensure that they were appropriately
followed and that the call was classified correctly. Then the requested response pattern of the
responding agency is compared to the units sent to the call. If there is a variation in this response,
then the administrator will look in the notes of the call to see the reason for the change. If the
reasoning is not clear in the notes, then contact will be made with the dispatcher for additional
information. Upon completing the QA, if there are discrepancies or errors then the call is brought
to the attention of the supervisor of the call taker/dispatcher. The supervisor then contacts the
employee with information as to why the call was incorrect and what the correct choice would be.
Then the supervisor would determine whether any further sanctions should be taken. Sanctions
include the counseling session, a formal write up in the employee s file, remedial training,
suspension, and recommending the employee s termination. In extreme cases, the employee could
also face criminal negligence

Expansion And Sectionalism Throughout American History
The expansion and sectionalism throughout American history, the colonial resistance to the
proclamation line had been one of unifying factors that had committed many English colonists to
revolution and helped spread an emerging nationalism. The exciting textbook American Nation,
states that, American independence and control of a wide and rich domain were the most obvious
results of the Revolution. The revolution provided access to vast western lands and for many years
western expansion would serve as an element that bound the various sections together. Yet, as the
decades rolled on and the United Statesadded even more land in its march to the Pacific,
expansionism led to sectionalism which resulted in the Union being torn apart.
Throughout the American history, we have seen Manifest Destiny at work, and how it has
helped grow our nation. The idea of Manifest Destiny helped in creating revolutions that would
help them find freedom in the U.S., but it also had some negative effects. Most believe that
Manifest Destiny began in the 1840 s, when John L.O Sullivan coined the term Manifest Destiny
in 1845, but if we look closer we can see that even all the way back to the first settlers we can see
that Manifest Destiny was already at work as in, the Massachusetts Bay Colony. The term is
defined and recognized as, the Americans belief that it was their destiny given to them by God, to
expand into the Western territories The whole continent was to be theirs. 1 We

The Civil Rights Movement and To Kill a Mockingbird
The beginning of the Civil Rights Movement era corresponds with the time that Harper Lee was
writing about Scout Finch and her brother Jem. They live in the very state that events like the
Montgomery Bus boycott would take place. The fictional town of Maycomb is in Alabama, the
same state where Martin Luther King Jr. would rise to be the voice of African Americans aching
for equality. The actual movement may have started in 1960 but that is the same year that To Kill a
Mockingbirdwas published and huge events were rupturing the south, throughout the novel readers
can see the attitude of a want and need for equality in characters and some events. The civil rights
movement was introduced to national headlines in the 1950s and 60s... Show more content on

Later, due to the events of the boycott, Martin Luther King Jr. emerged and was the movement s
most effective leader (Clayborne Carson). He is known for his nonviolent tactics and his I Have
a Dream speech. Martin Luther King Jr. was also a member of the National Association for the
Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) and later became the president of the SCLC in 1957
following the Montgomery Bus Boycott. To Kill a Mockingbird was written and published in
1960, in the midst of the Civil Rights Movement (Carolyn Jones). This time was just a few years
after events like the murder of Emmett Till, a fourteen year old boy accused of whistling at a white
woman, the Montgomery Bus Boycott, and the ruling in Alabama that segregation on buses is
unconstitutional happened (PBS African AmericanWorld). This goes to show that the time period
had some effect on Harper Lee at the time. To Kill a Mocking bird takes place in the fictional
town of Maycomb deep in the south. This town clings to its ideals, its traditions... People,
especially blacks and poor whites are ... expected to remain in their places (Carolyn Jones). The
town sticks to what it believes and that is that African Americans, and poor whites, are lower than
all the others residing in this tired town. Throughout the novel the reader sees events that can be
tied to things happening at the time Lee was writing. For instance, Tom Robinson, a black man, is
accused and

Children With Aggression During The United States
Children with aggression in the united states has played a big part in the world today. It has
caused a great number of kids to grow up with bad habits and wrong doings. Growing up young
with aggression can turn into a pattern that have been created over a long time period
(Lehman1).Its first start off with simple aggressive act, then it leads to bigger problems. Also the
aggressionin a child can rub off his or her peers. Which also can lead to a larger group of kids
growing up with the wrong set of mind. The youth is the future and knowing that most children
are growing up with aggression is a very scary sight of the others. With more children growing
up with aggression will cause a higher death rate and the jail count going up. Children shows
different types of aggression in many ways mentally, physically, and socially. The aggression can
cause children to have an different type of mood swing than others that does not have
aggression. It mostly has a after impact of growing up with mental health of 20230 of children
from the middle ages from 2 to 17 in USA(Tuner2).All the aggression in the children causes them
to have heart attack and blood pressure at a young age. The mental can come from a different
aspect, such as abusing there own bodies with drugs(7). When children become an angry aggressive
person they need help to control their actions around their peers. Even though it is important to

Types Of The Organisational Structure Of RSPCA
Organisational structure of RSPCA
The organisational structure that the charity RSPCA has is a flat structure which between
management and the worker level employees has few or no levels of management. This type of
business structure displays the workers with the higher levels of authority and control on the higher
levels. Then the workers with the least control and authority are on the lower levels of the flat
organisational structure. The RSPCA using a flat organisational structure has managementlevels of
a few or one. Meaning a Chain of Command from top to bottom will be short while the span of
control is wide . The span of control means where the managers are responsible for a certain
number of workers each at RSPCA.
The store I will be focusing on is the Rowley Regis store to explain the flat structure for the
RSPCA. The is a diagram of the flat structure below: This image shows the base level to be the
workers who have the lowest level of authority and control in the RSPCA. The second level are the
managers who have a span of control of seven subordinates between the two managers. The highest
level is the director of the RSPCA who has the most control and authority out of everyone else,
according to the image of the flat organisational structure.
An advantage of the RSPCA being part of a flat structure is that for the managers and workers
there is a great communication. This is an advantage because of their only being a few levels of
communication for example,

A Prom Divided Analysis
When I read through A Prom divided I find myself not surprised, sadly. This is something that
really shows what the United States is coming to. So many people seem to be worried about
what other people are like according to their appearances. They need to stop judging people by
their looks and realize that the personality in someone and who they are is all that really matters.
People everyday are not getting to do certain things because of some reason that should not define
what they should be able to do. This seems to be a issue that I don t think would and hope would
never happen at my schoolor in my community. When the article talks about the prom being

I am not surprised that this happening because of how many issues like this are happening right
now, as much as I wish I was surprised this is appending I am not. Even though the parents seem
to think that this is a normal prom for the kids and are trying to help the kids out, I believe that
this is not the parents responsibility. If the children want to all go to prom together as a grade
that is what they should be able to do, regarding their skin color. While most proms in this area
are what a normal prom is the one in this town is not normal . These kids have separate proms
one for the white students and one for the black students. While most of the students at the high
school are white, the white parents are the ones who wants their kids to have a private prom. The
students at this school are friends with all the races at the school and at outside of school events,
but theses proms are continuing to be separated, not by the student s choice but by the parents. To
me this seems like it is more the parents controlling the prom than the kids one girl said Most of the
students do want prom together (Corbett n.pag.).These students do everything else together they
feel that it is wrong that they don t go to prom together, but they continue to do it just because this
is what the parents organize and want. My best friend is white, said one senior girl, a little glumly.

Analysis Of Hank Morgan s A Connecticut Yankee
A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur s Court tells the story of a Connecticut Yankee, Hank
Morgan, being sent back in time to King Arthur s Court, in 528. During the story, Hank learns
much about himself and others. From his experiences, the novel as a whole tries to convey the idea
that Hank has much to learn from the medieval time period and its people, even though it might not
be transparent to him. During the story, Hank believes he is superior to those in King Arthurs Court.
He feels that his Yankee can do attitude, capitalist beliefs, technological advances and democratic
ideals put him a step above everyone in the medieval time. From his stubbornness to improve a
society that does not really need improvement, Hank blinds himself from learning human values
that would only be beneficial for himself and the Americans of his time. These positive aspects
of life include hospitality, trust, unity, and loyalty. As a result of Hank s efforts to change these
people, he eventually destroys their society, further proving the point that his way of life is not
the only way to live; as well as showing it is far from the best way to live. To begin with, Hank s
human nature and values are essentially based off of his circumstances. His time period is full of
new opportunities and possibilities. These opportunities include new jobs, better technology, and
new ways of thinking. These give the people a sense of optimism and a desire to want more. From
this desire, people want to go

Gender Socialisation Gender
Socialisation refers to the lifelong social experience by which people develop their human potential
and learn culture . (Macionis, 2012)
In the society we live in today there is a strong difference between what is considered boy and what
is considered girl . This is because from the time we are born, to the time we die we are expected to
conform to a gender role. Gender socialisation is the development for boys and girls to be
socialised differently. Boys are raised to conform to the male gender role, and girls are raised to
conform to the female gender role. Behaviors, attitudes, and personality characteristics are
gender roles, which are expected and encouraged of a person based on his or her sex . (Spark
Notes, 2017) Today it is essentially believed that most gender differences are attributed to
differences in socialisation, rather than genetic and biological factors . (Boundless, 2017). By
gender socialisation, the simplest explanation is the process of learning what it means to be a
male or female in the society, in which gender stereotypes and bias are usually involved. For
example, boys should be tough, brave, strong, sporty, while girls on the other hand are soft,
moody, passive, and allowed to cry. And another example girls are expected to be clean and quiet,
while boys are messy and loud.
Gender socialisation appears very early in childhood, and it is generally regarded as one of the
most related issues. (Early Childhood, 2007) Children learn the

Complete my.blog 3.1 (45), my.blog 3.2 (36), my.blog 3.3 (53). What did you discover about
your value orientation that you did not know before? After completing my.blog 3.1, I learned
several things. The first thing is that I am individualistic, meaning that I have a tendency to
emphasize my individual identity over a group identity. The second was that I am small power
distance oriented, meaning I tend to value equal power distributions, equal rights and relations,
and equitable rewards and punishments on the basis of performance. Third, I learned that Ii
have feminine patterns, meaning that I emphasize flexible sex roles when it comes to behaviors.
Finally, I learned that I have a strong uncertainty avoidance, meaning I prefer clear procedures,
and conflict, avoidance behaviors. Overall, I think this is basically spot on. I do tend to want
equal rights, and rewards/punishments based on performance, and I do really hate conflict. After
completing my.blog 3.2, I also learned even more. After adding up my scores, I found that I am a
bicultural value person. Neither my individualism score or my collectivism score was much
different. This means that in certain situations when my value of self reliance and personal
freedom is the focus I may be more individualistic, while when it comes to being sensitive to others
needs, I may be more collectivist. After completing my.blog 3.3, I also learned that doing, or action

Inflection Or Difference In President Nixon s Vocal
Inflection or difference in President Nixon s vocal Inflection refers to the alteration occurring in
a speech which often results to doubts in the mind of a reader or listener. In the case of
President Nixon, the 37th president of America there is a lot of suspicion about his character
and leadership when one does review the tapes. A good example is when he clearly stated in
public that he was not a crook as the Water scandal was revealed. The Watergate scandal the
president was clearly portrayed as the leading actor based on an intensive listening of the tapes. It

amazing how President Nixon ascended to power. The president seemed to be suffering from

that occurred when one of the tapes was being transcribed. The president denied knowledge of the
situation but based on the analysis of the tapes he seems to have had a hand in this cover up too.

Spring Landscape With A Creek By Frantisek Kavan
Spring landscape with a creek is an impressionist oil painting by a Czech painter named
Frantisek Kavan in 1890. This piece of art is chosen because it portrays an image of a landscape
in which a creek of water is running through the meadows. The golden sun seems like taking a
bath in the water hedged by green fields where yellow flower buddings can be seen. This painting
shows the time of year when trees are saying goodbye to the winter season and are ready for life
to return with spring. It seems as if this painting is saying goodbye to the history and introducing
the new impressionistic art of 19th century. This painting is a simple landscape but it depicts the
basic elements of life that are needed by a human to survive rather than materialistic things.
Anyone who sees this painting is absorbed in it as the artist has painted it fresh which shows an
optimistic thought when the glance goes from deserted trees to the green meadows and the water
creek and finally to the flowers . This picture resembles a strong feeling of the presence of a
creator who rescues us from destruction to the spring of life when life is at its peak.
The third painting is a bit newer as compared to the previous two, which comes under the realm of
the 20th century. This detailed painting is titled as Urban landscape by Enric Pinet in 1934,
depicting multi colored and expressive urban landscape. This painting shows the development of
city life where nature is scarce and chimneys are exhaling

A Comparison Of Electric Cars Vs. Internal Combustion...
Electric Cars Vs Internal Combustion Engines
In discussions of vehicles, one controversial issue has been that electric cars Vs gas powered cars.
On the one hand, Ranjan, Kaushik argues the advantages of electric cars over internal combustion
engines. Then On the other hand, LeVine, Steve opposes electric cars.People are learning that
electric cars are a good alternative to internal combustion engines. It has taken many years of
investigating to overcome deep seated dependency on gas and diesel powered vehicles, which
cause pollution and greenhouse gases. Electric cars have increased range and reliability and
companies like Tesla are making electric cars that change the status quo.
Ranjan, Kaushik et. al is the author of Electric Vehicles , Levine, Steve is the author of The Car of
the Future May Run on Gasoline; For all the talk of electric cars, the old fashioned internal
combustion engine is proving to be hard to beat . The intended audience for both of these articles is
to draw the attention of motor heads.
Ranjan states, electric vehicles are nearly three times more fuel efficient than conventional gasoline
powered vehicles (1). Ultimately, Ranjan s is genre about electric vehicles. According to LeVine,
they re a long way from making electric cars competitive in the mass market (1). In other words,
LeVine s genre is internal combustion engines.
The language in Ranjan s article is in the field of the automotive industry. Although, Levine s
language aims towards internal combustion engines. The purpose of these authors articles is to
inform the reader on advantages and disadvantages for electric and gas powered vehicles.
According to Ranjan, electric cars are a good alternative to internal combustion engines. Davis
states, Because they do not rely on an internal combustion engine, electric vehicles may represent
a way to reduce fossil fuel consumption if the electricity used comes from renewable resources
(1). In other words, Ranjan believes that electric cars will not waste the earth s natural resources.
Everyday people use fossil fuels in their cars. There is only a limited amount of fossil fuels to keep
using. LeVine s view, still for now at least, they continue to

Business Logistics And Logistics Of Ups
Business logistics
Introduction
The firm that would be assessed throughout this paper when referring to the topic of business
logistics is UPS. It is a well known courier service which operates in almost every nation in the
world. UPS is known for its quality services such as speedy delivery, best maintenance of cargo,
and the providence of a wide variety of tools that helps the customers in various different prospects,
such as tracking order. This paper would specifically emphasize upon the operations management
and logistics of UPS alongside performing a SWOT analysis of the firm. Finally, some suggestions
will be provided which may help the firm in performing better overall business logistics and
operations management.
1 Critically evaluate the existing process flows in the operations management and logistics with
reference to a literature review on logistics theories.
Let s first have a look at the notion of logistics and then relate it with the operations management of
a courier service such as UPS. Logistics is the deemed as the actionable process of transporting and
temporarily storing different supplies. The category to which a company can efficiently and
effectively do these mentioned duties can differentiate its overall place in itsrelative industry. These
mentioned tasks related to transfer procedures are often a subset of the greatersystem of supply
chain management. This system tends to track items and information among various categories of

The Iron mosque is known to be so due to its stainless steel clad structure. It s a very modern
building located in the administrative capital, Putrajaya. Nevertheless, it still manages to integrate
traditional culture and religious cues into its design. These, together with its scale, location on the
Putrajaya lakefront and sight lines, make it quite a spectacular building.
The Iron Mosque has a district cooling system, and fans or an air conditioning system. It uses
6000 tons of iron and 70 percent steels with 30 percent remaining of concretes. Concrete material

Advantages of steel
Steel beam is given a mass that is capable of resisting much higher stresses without fracture than an
equivalent mass of wood or stone. It is very strong in terms of strength and is resistant to corrosion.
Stainless steel can be manufactured such way to be extremely resistant to rust and corrosion.
Stainless steel is a mix of steel and chromium. Thus, it has a much longer life expectancy.
Cost
Steel costs very little compared with other metals. This, combined with its other mechanical and
chemical attributes, contributes significantly to the popularity of steel beams as a construction
material.

A Research Report On Dual Career Couples Essay
Six primary source research reports were examined for this Review of Literature and it became
evident that there were two common themes. These two common themes were shown to negatively
affect dual career couples in five out of the six primary source research reports that the student has
studied over a period of time. Theme one is occupational issues that lead to dual career marital
conflict. Theme two is support/psychological issues that lead to marital conflict.
Theme 1
The first common theme that the student has found is the occupational issues that lead to conflict
in dual career marriages. One of the major issues that the student had to consider during this process
was occupational similarities and differences. In the research from Reed and Reed, Werbel and
Hames, and Rochlen and O Brien studied the negative effects that an occupation can have on a
marriage when both spouses work in the same company. Researchers Reed and Reed study
occupational mobility; researchers want to find how dual career couples who work within the
same governmental position will react to relocations. While researchers Werbel and Hames
examined the attitudes and views that supervisors and employees have on dual career couples who
work in the same company. Finally, researchers Rochlen and O Brien study the occupational
problems that men have and why they will or will not seek career advice; they evaluate how this
can cause conflict within a marriage.

From The Plains And The City
From the Plains to the City The depth of a play comes largely from its context and how the piece
intertwines with the environment in which it takes place. All tragedies take a direct impact by
their setting, which inconspicuously performs a significant role in the compositions. In Tracy
Letts August: Osage County, the Weston family must confront their past and present in a
claustrophobic house during the scorching heat of summer in the Oklahoman Plains. In Tony
Kushner s Angles in America, the AIDS epidemic is rampant and the effects are seen across all
spectrums in the American society, while keeping up with the fast pace and intricacies of New
York City. Essentially location influences the plays, which steers them thematically and
stylistically. Letts slowly builds a dismal atmosphere in the confinement of a household that
correlates to the bleakness of the Plains while Kushner creates a melting pot of political, social,
and religious criticism in an action packed drama in a bustling city. The prologue of August:
Osage County is in charge of setting the somber mood for the play. On the outskirts of the small
town of Pawhuska, Oklahoma is where the Weston family reluctantly reunites after the death of its
patriarch, Beverly. The house is depicted as more than a century old, showing signs of neglect that
make it appear stuck in time. Letts describes the premise as a hoarder s paradise, scattered with
books, papers, and random paraphernalia. The windows have been covered

Compare And Contrast Christianity And Islam Worldview
Christian and Islam Worldview comparison: As Christians we all have a solid understanding on
the history and worldview of our religion however; we need to review how this compares to the
worldview of Islam. This is very important if one is potentially going to work in a place where the
primary culture is Muslim. In Christianitythe scripture has taught us the our faith was first created
from Judaism with our belief of the foundation of JesusChrist his death and resurrection. One main
difference is as Christians we know there is just one God however; we know that God is the
Father, the son and the holy spirit. The Islamfaith believes that God is just one with Allah,
Yahweh and God all being one but believe that Jesus Christ was a prophet but not the son of God
(Mohamad, 1997). There is also the difference in the worldview of sin as Christians we believe
in the first sin that was created by Adam and Eve. Islam faith views that sins committed by others
would not be something that God would punish them for but only sins are impacted by only
those who actually commit the sin. In the Qur an the text states No person earns any sin except
against himself only, and no bearer of burdens shall bear the burden of another (Qur an 6:164).
The belief of salvation is also a very different worldview between both religions. Christians we
believe the only way to salvation through our Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit and we must
accept these into our heart. Muslims believe in

Patrick Henry Speech Analysis
Introduction
When Patrick Henry gave his famous Give Me Liberty Or Give Me Death speech he proved that
pens are indeed mightier than swords. That speech undoubtedly lead to the formation of the great
nation that we now live in today.
Patrick Henry was better at persuading his audience because he used a convincing combination
rhetorical questions and imagery. Patrick Henry s use of logical and emotional appeals to make
his audience believe in his cause. His purpose for speaking and his ambitious ideas also helped
make his speech stronger. Jonathan Edwards speech was good, but the fear that he instilled in his
audience crippled them instead of pushing them to action, like Henry s speech did.
Appeals
Emotional Appeals
Is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery? (Henry)
Henry is asking his audience if they would rather live a peaceful life of slavery or a life of freedom
on their own terms. This rhetorical question is impactful because Henry s audience is afraid of
slavery, they don t like the idea of being controlled by anyone. They know what the lives of their
own slaves are like and they fear being put in that position. This makes the audience want to heed
Henry s advice and go to war against Great Britain.
Logical Appeals
Mr. President, it is natural to man to indulge in the illusions of hope (Henry)
Henry is telling his audience that there is nothing wrong with looking on the bright side, but they
need to open their eyes

Why I Want For A Pharmacist

questions on what I want to be when I get older. I always had vacillated between I am not really
sure yet and I wantto be a professional athlete . But now that I have sat down to think about it I
realized that I would like to be a pharmacist. A pharmacist is a person who is professionally
qualified to prepare and dispense medical drugs. I think that being a pharmacist would be good

thing. As you read on you soon will find out the history of a pharmacist, what you need to obtain
being a pharmacist, a description of being a pharmacist, and why this job is for me. Pharmacycan be
traced far back into history. According to Pharmacy, the first known production of medicine
substance was around 6th century BC, however the earliest text of pharmacy can be dated back
to the 3rd or 4th AD. Ancient Egyptian s knowledge on pharmacy was originally written on
papyrus. The earliest known complete filling of medicine was done by the Hindu. One famous
pharmacist named John Pemberton was actually the man that invented Coca Cola. I really think it
is bizarre that a pharmacist to be the person that would invent a kind of pop let alone Coca Cola.

Analysis Of The Fiedler Contingency Theory On Leadership
Question 1:
As a leader, the Fiedler contingency theory could be used to manage employees by placing the
most suitable leader with his or her given style for the specific situation. Fiedler believed that
leaders were incapable of changing their style of leadership to adapt to the situation. So instead, it is
suggested that the situation or rather the leader replaced to match the specific situation. To optimize
the favorability of a leadership situation, three components must first be taken into account:
leader member relations, task structure and positional power of the leader. The optimal leader
member relations have a good relationship between themselves (the leaders) and the followers. A
good task structure possesses standard procedures which are in place to complete the tasks. And
finally, the strong positional power refers to a leader having authority to evaluate performance
and administer rewards or punishments. In contrast, the Hersey and Blanchard s situational
theory on leadership relied on leaders were capable of being flexible with their range of skills to
adapt their behavior to the maturity of their followers. It is comprised of three components: the
amount of task related behaviors a leader displays, the amount of relationship related behaviors a
leader displays, and the level of maturity of the followers to perform a specific task. The first and
second components are similar to that of the leader member relations and task structure from the
Fiedler contingency model. Whereas, the maturity of the employees given the specific tasks can
vary depending on the individual follower. Someone with a high maturity indicates self
confidence and the ability to perform the task, and low maturity indicates a lack of ability and self
confidence. Therefore, leaders should assess each of their employees for their varying levels of
self confidence and ability to perform the task. Then they can tailor their response to the individual
employee depending on the four levels of maturity that they display: guide, direct, delegate and
support.
Question 2: As a leader, what form of power would you attempt to use on a consistent basis to
manage your employees and why would you choose this form of power? As a leader, I

Thus, there is a direct link to the rise of Anorexia and the media instills the importance of
appearance into the culture and plants the idea in women s minds that thin is essential. Through
out time, the fashion industry has highlighted an ultra thin physique and has come to play a huge
role in the occurrence of Anorexia. In the 1960 s, models such as Twiggy were the first to be
thin. However, many models remained natural looking. In the 1980 s Amazonian models were
common and the 1990 s brought the heroin chic ito style. Today, models weigh twenty percent
less than they did a few decades ago. In some places, models have been forced to have a BMI of
eighteen, which is still low; however, many places continue to use overly skinny women in
advertisements and fashion.Often, models have developed an eating disorder because it was
seemingly essential to their career. Some models have even starved themselves to death. The
Fashion Industry has had an undeniably great influence on Anorexia. Hollywood actresses are
praised for their diets and workout regimen, advertisers promote diet products, and unnatural
looking actresses. Christy Greenleaf is quoted as saying, Research demonstrates that poor body
image and disordered eating attitudes are associated with internalizing the mediated bodies that
dominate the fashion industry (Schwarz). Thus, the industry is not only producing diet products
but also women willing to go to any length to lose weight. Pro Anorexia websites

Comparison Of Jim Crow Laws And Mass Incarceration In The...
In The New Jim Crow, Michelle Alexander maps out the parallels between the old Jim Crow
system and the new racial caste system of mass incarceration. There are many profound similarities
between these two systems, such as historical parallels, closing the courthouse doors, and racial
segregation.
There are many historical parallels between Jim Crow laws and mass incarceration. Both of these
systems were made due to a desire among white elites to exploit the resentments, vulnerabilities,
and racial bias of poor and working class whites for political or economic gain (Alexander 191).
Segregation laws were made to deflect social tensions from whites to blacks. Another example is
making laws more discriminative. In the Jim Crow era whites competed by passing harsher laws
to keep blacks in prisons. Currently legislators looking to make drug laws harsher to incarcerate
more blacks and latinos. The most obvious parallel between the Jim Crow laws and mass
incarceration is the legalization of discrimination. During the Jim Crow era blacks were denied the
right to vote by poll taxes, literacy tests, and grandfather clauses. The fifteenth amendment states the
rights of citizens of the United States to vote should not be denied on the account of race, color or
previous condition of servitude (Alexander 192). African Americans were not able to pay poll
taxes or pass literacy tests, yet if a white male could not pass these hurdles he could still possibly be

Infection Control
Since the manual handling task requires close contact with the patient, all handlers should follow
strict infection control protocols in ICU. A recent study showed that by strictly following infection
control protocols the incidence of hospital acquired infections could be reduced (8). In addition, an
observational study concluded that better hospital wide infection control would reduce the number
of MRSA positive patients admitted to ICU and acquisition of MRSA within ICU (9). Therefore, it
is important to minimize the spread of the infection by performing the following aseptic techniques.

However, there is no universal approach and best practices must be adapted to fit the
epidemiology of specific ICUs and should also consider the available resources (10).
Radiation safety
Radiation safety of patients, radiographers and other individuals in ICU should be considered
according to the As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA) principle. General radiation safety
principles include time, distance and shielding (7). Since the patient is male, no pregnancy check is
needed.
To protect the patient, the length of time that a patient remains in the path of the x ray beam should
be minimized. Therefore, it is important for radiographers to avoid unnecessary repeats and thus
unnecessary exposure. Gonad shielding should be used on patients if possible, which is particularly
important for young patients. In addition, proper collimations and adjusted exposure factors should
be applied according to patient situations to minimize radiation dose (7).
Radiographers should protect themselves as well. The time spent in radiation fields should be
limited by taking shifts. Radiographers should stand as far away from source as possible to
increase distance between radiation source and themselves. They should stand behind appropriate
radiation shields or, more commonly, wear appropriate protection (7). According to a previous
study, lead apron is the most common method of radiation protection as it may

time has decreased, although the number of births outside marriage has increased. Thus, in 1990
the rate was 61.8 births, pregnancy rate 116.9 per 1,000. The incidence of teenage pregnancy has
decreased significantly in the 1990s. This decline is observed in all racial groups, but Teenagers,
African Americans and Hispanic teens remain higher frequency compared with Americans of
European and Asian origin. Guttmacher Institute, about 25% of this decline carried her share of

rates of teenage pregnancy are also on the rise, but marked by the rise could be linked to other
sources: for example, reducing the number of abortions or a decrease in the number of abortions.
In 2002, the United States noted 53 teen births per 1,000 women aged 15 19 years, the highest

The Classic Era And The Classic And Romantic Eras
The first public music concerts took place in the early 1700s. Before public concerts became
more common, music was mostly performed for monarchs and aristocrats (Burkholder 466). As
music became readily available to the public, composers began writing in a style that was easily
understood by everyone. The period of musicthat began in 1720 is called the Classic Era.
However, as the political landscape of Europe changed, so did music. Conflicts across the
continent forced many composers to look for work as freelance artists, instead of writing for
royal families (Burkholder 592). Composers began trying to capture the attention of the public
by writing pieces with memorable melodies and strong emotions. By 1820, the Classic Era had
transformed into the Romantic Era. The Classic and Romantic Eras differ in musical style, the
use of musical forms, and the design of musical instruments. One of the main differences
between the Classic and Romantic Eras is musical style. In the Classic Era, composers drew
inspiration from ancient Greece and Rome. According to Shannon Baker Moore, Similar to the
simple, classic lines of an ancient Greek temple, composers wanted music that was balanced,
beautiful, and orderly (52). Classic Era music also mirrored the beliefs of philosophers like Voltaire
and Rousseau, who valued logic and reason (Moore 52). A good example of Classic Era music is
Mozart s Piano Concerto No. 21, which is characterized by its light and charming melodies. In

The Major Causes Of The French Revolution Of 1789-1799
Causes of French Revolution The French revolution of 1789 1799 was one of the major events
in the world s history. This revolution bought many changes in France. At the time of
revolution, France was the most powerful state in Europe. Over the ten years period between
1789 and 1799 the French revolution was spread. The dispute over the people s differing ideas
of reform, was the primary cause of the revolution. After the death of King Louis XIV, his
grandson Louis XV got kingship. He was not able for this designation and had no ability to
govern the state. France engaged in war with other countries. In result of seven year war she has
lost her empire. Financial crisis started in the country. Peasants were not in state to pay heavy
taxes they were badly suffered. Louis XV was hooked up in sake of worldly pleasure. He had no
interest in governing country. Even he was ready to discuss serious issues with minister. When
minister tried to discuss with him Louis XV replied: After me deluge . The box of treasure was

A Study On Turner Syndrome
Turner syndrome, also known as Monosomy X, is caused by the deletion of the second X
chromosome in females. This can be a partial deletion or a complete deletion. It is caused by a
random error called nondisjunction, which is the failure of sister chromatids to separate during or
after meiosis (Biology Online, 2008). This can lead to an abnormal amount of chromosomes. In this
case, it leads to an abnormality in the sex chromosomes leaving the woman with one functioning X
chromosome. While the specific genes that cause Turner syndromeare unknown, researchers have
identified one gene called SHOX that is important for bone development and growth (National
Library of Medicine, 2013). It is believed that a missing SHOX gene is the reason behind the
female s short stature and skeletal abnormalities. Due to the random nature of this syndrome, it is
usually not inherited or passed down. The loss or mutation of the X chromosome is spontaneous;
therefore there is no real pattern of inheritance. Also, it is very unlikely for a woman with Turner
syndrome to pass it down to her daughter. Women with Turner syndrome have one functioning X
chromosome. If the woman does become pregnant, she will only be able to pass down the
functioning X to her child, meaning the daughter will not have Turner syndrome unless she goes
through the same random mutation. According to the Turner Syndrome Society (2016), woman
with Turner syndrome can experience signs and symptoms such as short stature, a

Estimation of Ascorbic Acid
Title: Estimation of Ascorbic acid
Aim:To determine the ascorbic acid content of canned apple and orange juice To determine the
volume of canned juice necessary to provide 75mg of Vitamin C
Introduction:
For the estimation of ascorbic acid, the method used involved the titration of the ascorbic acid, in
the presence of a redox indicator 2,6 dichlorophenol indophenol (DCPIP) which acts as both an
oxidant so as to oxidise the ascorbic acid to dehydroascorbic acid, and it acts as an indicator to
determine the end point of the titration. The samples of ascorbic acid used have to be made acidic
first by adding metaphosphoric acid to remove proteins and ferric ions which would precipitate.
*This diagram was located on the website: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
52.60mL of apple juice solution contains 1.775 x 10 6 moles of acetic acid
1mL of apple juice solution contains 1.755 x 10 6/52.6 = 3.3 x 10 8 moles of acetic acid
Mass of 3.3 x 10 8 moles of ascorbic acid = 3.3 x 10 8 x 176g = 5.808 x 10 6g = 5.808 x 10 3 mg
/mL
Volume of apple juice necessary to provide 75mg of vitamin C= (75/5.808 x 10 3) x 1000 = 12.9L
Discussion:
In this experiment the ascorbic acid content of canned orange juice and apple juice were
determined via titrimetric analysis. The indicator used was 2,6 dichlorophenol indophenol which
also acts as an oxidising agent to oxidise the ascorbic acid. Since ascorbic acid is a potent
reducing agent, it would become oxidised very quickly, so to reduce the chances of missing the end
point of the titration, the samples used were diluted with distilled water.
Before the samples were titrated they were acidified with glacial acetic acid since they would be
heavily diluted. Also 5% metaphosphoric acid was added to prevent the precipitation of proteins
and ferric ions which would interfere with the end point of the titration. The results obtained show
that it takes 8.5L of canned orange juice and 12.9L of canned apple juice to provide the

Additionally, we studied another form of high comedy, situational irony. To demonstrate, in A Day s
Work , an excerpt from The Adventures of Tom Sawyer , Mark Twain reports that while Tom
had to whitewash on a beautiful day when he would rather be playing, he ended up conning his
friends into doing his work for him while he sat back and enjoyed the so called treasures that
they gave to him so they could do his work, including a dead rat and a string to swing it with (44)
and a brass door knob (44). Despite having a slight understanding of what irony was before this
unit, I had never heard of situational irony before. Situational irony leads readers to believe that
the story is going in one direction, then suddenly revealing a twist that makes it humorous. If I
were to have read this excerpt before learning about situational irony and its aspects, I would have
been thoroughly confused. However, now that I have been introduced to this idea, I can understand
and enjoy the often comical product of situational irony. Even though Tom had been willing to give
up some of his treasures at the beginning, by the end he was rolling in riches without lifting a finger.

Technology in Medicine
Technology in medicine has been evolving for over a fifty decades. It has changed and is still
changing the way medicine is being practiced. The pace of how technology has had an impact on
medicine differs worldwide. In the third world countries the introduction of technology has been
slow compared to first worldcountries. We cannot deny the prowess of medical technology and
how the crucial it is for the people s health and the society. There are disadvantages and advantages
that technology has brought however the advantages seem to override the disadvantages because its
positives are magnified.
Since the 18th century technology in medicine has been on the increase. There are a number of
medical treatments and equipment that where discovered a long time ago and since them they
have been enhanced by modern technology. The stethoscope first discovered by Rene Laennes
(1816), Sir Alexander Fleming also discovered the first antibiotic which opened doors to so many
other treatments for infections. Furthermore the first effective cancer chemotherapy drug (Nitrogen
Mustered) was first discovered by Alfred G .Gilman in 1908. Nowadays there are a number of
options offered for cancer. From the above discoveries new and modern medical equipment and
treatments have been born, which are being appreciated because they have increased life
expectancy. In addition to chemotherapy and radiotherapy a new form of medical equipment that
targets only cell cancer without damaging the healthy

Cultural Differences In Two Kinds And Catch The Moon
Stories are the same in many ways, although, one reads them for their differences and the
differences are what matters. The two short stories, Two Kinds and Catch the Moon are polar
opposites and exactly the same simultaneously. Their cultures are extremely different but those
differences are what make the theme for the stories, which is to overcome a struggle in life you
have to be devoted to overcoming it, applicable the same way
The short story Catch the Moon has a theme that is impacted by its surroundings and cultural
setting. Catch the Moon is about a boy named Louis who goes through the tragedy along with his
father of his mother dying. He then starts becoming a delinquent, however after seeing a girl, he
was devoted to impress ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The cultural difference in the story is probably the largest contrast of the stories. In Two Kinds the
mother out of tradition is strict with her daughter making her do things that she thinks are the
best for her, while on the other hand in Catch the Moon the father lets his son do as he pleases
but still wishes the best for him. Culture wise the stories are opposite however on the side of
theme they share many similarities. Louis from Catch the Moon was trying to persevere on and
move forward with life after his mother died, on the other hand the daughter from Two Kinds
was also trying to move on and do different things and succeed, they aren t identical however they
share similar qualities such as being able to persevere through hard times. Each of their cultures
also impacted the theme in the same way, while one story was laid back and the other way strict
and harsh they still in the end came of with similar points to be put across. Each story compared
shows that people from different worlds can have the same problems and be impacted by events
the same way as others from other places can

The Cultural Norm In Ken Kesey s Chief Bromden
The 1960 s were a time in which Americans started questioning everything they knew to be true,
which is reflected in the personal experiences and writings of Ken Kesey (1935 2001). He
provoked readers to think outside of the cultural norms through his many provocative novels.
Although Kesey was raised in a typical all American family, his experiences as a graduate student
at Stanford University eventually led him to become one of the most prominent leaders of
counterculture in the 1960 s. Kesey s controversial government sponsored drug use, involving LSD
and other psychedelic drugs, strongly influenced his literary works and rebellion against social
mores. Kesey s drug use eventually inspired him to write what many consider to be his greatest...

Throughout the novel, the characters slowly begin to challenge authority and stand up for
themselves against the ruthless control of Nurse Ratched. When McMurphy first steps into the
ward, he immediately makes everyone in the hospital uncomfortable with his carefree laughter.
At first I see that he s making everybody over there feel uneasy, with all his kidding and joking
and with the brassy way he hollers at that black boy who s still after him with a thermometer, and
especially with that big wide open laugh of his (Kesey 17). All of the patients in the hospital are
immune to laughter because they are victims of the combine. The central conflict in the novel
revolves around the power struggle between Nurse Ratched and McMurphy. McMurphy has no
qualms; he is careless and crude. Nurse Ratched is a ruthless dictator, who strongly encourages
patients to follow her rules in order to avoid harsh consequences. McMurphy recognizes this
immediately and becomes the chief leader of rebellion in the novel. He encourages gambling on the
ward, deviously plans a party in the middle of the night (which includes sneaking in prostitutes,
drugs, and alcohol), and challenges Nurse Ratched s authority every chance he gets. The hospital is
a metaphor for the conformist society in the 1950 s. Kesey is trying to convey that the true insanity
is not within the patients of the hospital, but the hospital itself. The staff at

Copper Sulfate Lab Report
Analysis/conclusions
In conclusion, the charge/roman numeral on copper in copper sulfate is 2+. The percent
composition of copper in copper (I) sulfate was 40.58% and in copper (II) sulfate it was 25.46%.
Later, I calculated that the percent of copper in the lab was 26.13%. This percent shows that copper
(II) sulfate was used in this experiment because 26.13% was closer to 25.46% than 40.58%. If iron
(II) sulfate and copper metal is the product of copper (?) sulfate and iron metal, then copper (?)
sulfate has a charge of 2+. The mass of dry filter paper (1.18 g), the mass of copper sulfate (3.10 g),
the mass of iron (0.70 g), total reaction time (129 s), the mass of dry filter paper/copper (1.99 g),
and the mass of copper produced (0.81 g). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I think that my group could have done something wrong or different during the experiment. The
only source of error is not putting all the copper sulfate in the water and this could have a high
but low effect. It could have changed the results by a lot or a little because the putting less than
was called for made the mass smaller than it is. The percent error is 34.14%.
One question that the experiment generate was how did a chemical reaction take place? I did not
understand how the metals and compounds used in this lab could make a chemical reaction like
color change. One thing that I understand is that my group could have done better. If I had the
opportunity to repeat the experiment, I would follow the procedure more thoroughly, measure the
mass of the materials more precisely, and actually pour all the materials into the right places. If I
do these things right, then the results will be closer to the actual results than what I got during my
experiment. From this experiment, I learned many things. I learned that I need to be more precise
to get the best results in this experiment. You will need to measure the amounts to what is asked to
be able to the right results. I learned that some error can change the results easily. Some error like
not measuring the exact amount can change the results by a little or a

Motherly Love
In the three stories we read by Flannery O Connor; The Comforts of Home , Everything That
Rises Must Converge , and The Enduring Chill , the major relationship portrayed was between
mothers and their hypersensitive sons. While all of the major characters, the sons, were noticeably
similar, the lesser characters of the mothers were also very alike in many ways. Many of their
views, gestures and outward qualities paralleled throughout the stories. After rereading all of the
stories again I came to the realization that the mothers O Connor wrote in her stories were variations
of the same person.
One of the qualities that jump out first is that all three mothers are ... Show more content on

The boys feel that either their mother did not do a good enough job raising them or that she has
disrupted the proper pace of their lives. This is apparent in all the boys but especially confusing in
the case of Julian. At the beginning of the story he says he could have stood his lot better if she
[his mother] had been an old hag who drank and screamed at him (5) yet later talks about how
there was no reason for her to think she could always depend on him (14). While he feels that
she raised him well, he does not want her to feel that he will be there for her like she seems to
have been there for him. Asbury makes it very clear that he feels his mother was the unnerving
force that lead to the demise of his life. Upon his death, he wanted his mother to read a letter her
wrote to her about what she had done to him (91) but thought, that his mother would not
understand the letter at once... he thought she would be able to see that he forgave her for all that
she had done to him (91). This statement, like Julian s is not truly supported in any way. It
appears in both stories that the boys mothers did everything they possible could to give their
children the best of life. Thomas, on the other hand, does not feel quite as much observable
loathing to his mother and says that he loved his mother. He loved her because it was his nature to
do so, but there were times when he could not endure her love for him (118). Unlike the other

Child Behavior And Language Assessment
The postulate we chose to research is from the social participation frame of reference. It states that
if routine is provided for difficult or disorganizing activities, children will develop calmer and more
cooperative behaviors during those activities (Olson, 2010). When researching for an article that
either supported or refuted the postulate, Family Centered Intervention for Young Children at risk
for Language and BehaviorProblems was found. The study was initiated by dividing forty one
randomly selected children, ages 3 5 years, with potential language and behavioral difficulties into
a control group or intervention group receiving adult support (Chao, Bryan, Burstein, Ergul, 2006).
The purpose was to explore the impact parent involvement and routines have on the development
of socially acceptable behavior and language in children (Chao et al., 2006). Parents were asked to
rate various aspects of their child, such as motor skills and behavior, then decide activities in the
ChildBehavior and Language Assessment (CBLA) to focus on and review intermittently in a log
to help conclude if the intervention was beneficial or not (Chao et al., 2006). The intervention was
based on the reviews and opinions of the parents and occasional professional observation. CBLA is
comprised of assessments of children s language and behavior, and routine based activities assisting
the establishment of language and ideal behavior (Chao et al., 2006). The

Immigration Policy Of The United States
Immigration is a timely issue that took my interest, and being an immigrant it was the first topic
that came to my mind for this problem solution research paper. It is imperative that the citizens
must know that there are underlying major problems that are associated with the current
immigration policy of the country. Thus, the United Statesgovernment must address this serious
problem with the majority support of its citizens. By tackling the issue of immigration, it will not
just resolve one problem, but the elemental aspects that go along with it as well. The main objective
of this argument paper is to increase awareness by presenting the opposing arguments concerning

This solution will hinder the wrong people from coming to the country, and will discourage those
who have ill intentions of the United States and its citizens. Take into considerations the 9/11
terrorist attack. There were thousands of innocent lives perished owing to the laxity in the laws
concerning immigration. In addition, according to the article Lax Immigration Policies Invite
Terrorism , 2009 by Krikorian, he stated, Our enemies have repeatedly exercised this option of
inserting terrorists by exploiting weaknesses in our immigration system. (Krikorian 2) On the other
hand, for the second solution, a more tolerant immigration policy; Reverend Kicanas on his
testimony he argued that majority of migrants coming to the United States come not for nefarious
purposes, but to either find work to support their families or to join their loved ones. (Doak 2) This
is reality for many immigrants in America. Nevertheless, take into perspective when making the
decision that this reasoning can be an avenue for those who wish to destabilize the nation. The
second major criterion that is linked to the immigration problem is the

Neopets Case Study

focus is to allow members to create and take care of virtual pets. In addition to virtual pets, it also

generates more than 5 billion pageviews per month. With nearly 200 games, weekly contests,
discussion boards, plots and thousands of virtual items to collect, Neopets members are as

However unlike games such as World of Warcraft and Second Life that are based on real time
action rendered in 3D, Neopets is primarily based on navigating through static 2D web pages,
and playing small self contained puzzle type games. Though Second Life and World of Warcraft
do not target Neopet s primary audience of girls under the age of 18, it also needs to move up the
technology chain. There might soon be a 3D virtual pet website which might take away market
share from Neopets and Neopets might see its adopter surfing to a 3D virtual pet websites.
Promotion strategy for Neopets :
Neopets has traditionally depended on word of mouth and viral marketing which is a subset of
word of mouth to increase its spread. As per Hindle, Tim (2008, p205) viral marketing involves
choosing a small group of well connected individuals to launch a product or service via the
internet or their mobile phones. The idea is that their approval will spread rapidly via their online
network of connections, create a buzz around the product being marketed and result in millions of
sales. This form of marketing has grown further with the popularity of social networks like
Facebook.
While Neopets is very popular with kids who use the internet extensively, Neopets needs to consider
other mediums to attract kids who are not yet extensive users of the internet. To do that Neopets has

The History Of The Driverless Car
What if the cars we drive, drive themselves? The driverless cars have history from the 1970s.
Although driverless cars are not on the roads yet, many companies have already installed self
driving features. New laws will have to be established in order for driverless cars to be on the
road by 2018. Driverless cars were thought of in the 1970s but were never fully researched and
developed. Multiple experiments have been conducted on driverless cars since the 1920s; trials
took place in the 1950s and work has continued since then. The first truly driverless car appeared in
the 1980s. Since then, many major companies and research organizations have developed a

  • 3. Sociological Concepts In The Film American Sniper The film American Sniper portrays the life of a US Navy S.E.A.L. sniper Chris Kyle who was deployed to Iraq after the events of 9/11. The movie shows the life of Kyle before his deployment to Iraq. He was a Texan rodeo cowboy who later joined the military after watching a news film of an attack on a US embassy. After passing his BUD/s as a S.E.A.L., he meets Taya at a bar who later becomes his wife. After the attack on the World Trade Center, Kyle s team is deployed to Iraq and is assigned to take out Al Qaeda forces. During Kyle s deployment, he faced challenging moments where both himself and his comrades were in danger. His duty as a sniper was to take out hostile people who were a threat to the Marines, even children. Kyle then begins to develop a case of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, though he is unwillingly to accept it. His wife Taya begins to worry for him because of his slow inability to assimilate back into civilian life. After completing his four tours in Iraq, he retires from the military and returns home as well as helping other veterans with PTSD. However, Kyle was later killed by a veteran whom he tried to help. Throughout the film, many sociological concepts were seen in the movie. Symbolic interactionism, values, mores, coercion, gender socialization, and total institutions were apparent in the film. Symbolic interactionism is defined as a theoretical perspective in which society is viewed as composed of symbols that people use to establish meaning, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Michael Anthony s Murder Was Not A Random Act Going to school, attending college, and getting married are a few of the many activities Caylee Anthony will never get to experience. When Caylee went missing and was later found dead in 2008, her entire future ended abruptly. Whether the Anthony family murdered Caylee as a scapegoat for their own problems or Caylee s death was a tragic accident, no one was convicted for her death. Although never brought to court, evidence suggests George Anthony killed his granddaughter, Caylee, and manipulated the evidence to direct the public s eye away from himself. Caylee Anthony s murderwas not a random act, but rather an exact plan that was put into place leading up to and after her death. When she disappeared in July 2008, Caylee Anthony was two years old and her mother, Casey Anthony, was an outgoing twenty two year old. Due to Casey s frequent partying and drinking, she claimed the identity of Caylee s father was unknown, but he may have died in a car crash before Caylee s birth. While the father of Caylee is unclear, Casey s grandparents, George and Cindy Anthony, were highly involved in Caylee s life. In Orlando, Florida, the Anthony familycarried on their lives as normal until July 2008 when Cindy called 911 reporting I found out my granddaughter has been taken, she has been missing for a month (Escherich). On that hot summer day, the Anthony household was changed forever. Immediately, Casey Anthony was questioned for not reporting Caylee s disappearance for over a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Rosea Lake Judgments Analysis Allison Braud September 15th, 2016 WGS 2010.001/Dr. Verner Rosea Lake s Judgments Judgements, a photograph captured by Rosea Lake, can be seen as an attempt to address the double standard women face when presenting themselves to the world. The photo depicts the back of a young woman s leg with her skirt hem slightly lifted. Horizontal markings on the subject s leg are reminiscent of those on a measuring cup or ruler. The markings on the woman s leg are meant to be length markings, specifically the length of a woman s garment hem. The horizontal markings don t mark specific length measurements, such as centimeters or inches. Rather, the markings depict how a sexist mainstream society would react to seeing such skirt lengths on young women. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It s to the point, aesthetically pleasing, and brings to light an issue that isn t often discussed in mainstream media. It also disproves a common antifeminist stereotype that all feminists are hairy, butch man hatters, because the subject is a slender, hairless, assumingly attractive white women. However, though I admire the piece and the message it shares, I do find myself disgruntled with it. As a feminist, intersectionality is very important to me. I love supporting women of all shapes, sizes, races, backgrounds, ages, social status, geographical location, and specific circumstance. Though the issue of sexual objectification is a problem many women face, this seems like amn issue that s specific to young, middle class women living in first world countries, specifically America. Additionally, sexual objectification may be perceived differently, and typically more severely, pending on weight, size, or race. Since the subject is an able bodied, slender, white women, I m not sure if I feel like it s showing the most accurate depiction of your average victim of sexual objectification. Though it may not be the most representative depiction, I can only assume that Lake s intentions were good when creating this piece of art, and I think she made her point well. I believe that Rosea Lake s Judgements is an important part of feminist media, and it sets the grounds for further discussion about how else women are treated inferiorly to ... • 6. Suicide In Romeo And Juliet Essay One of the most famous and most controversial love stories is the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare. It is the tale of two youthful lovers who are morosely born into two families who have been enemies for decades. The story closes with Romeo and Juliet both dead; both victims to a gruesome duo suicide. The pair both commit suicide because of the struggle of them not being approved to be together by their families. The catastrophe can be blamed three different ways: on Friar Lawrence, on the Capulet family, and on the Montague family. All three of these accusations are truthful, because all three of them have a part in the misfortune that could have influenced the outcome. The blame can be placed on Friar Lawrence because he had the chance to unite the two families, but instead he allows the elaborate plan to develop. Primitively, he married the pair in hopes to unite the two families through their love. But, the plan changed after Romeo is banished. Friar Lawrence devises an... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Lord and Lady Capulet are the parents of young Juliet. The Capulets have always hated the Montagues, and the generations of Capulets to come are all supposed to hate the Montagues. This is the reason Juliet felt her relationship with Romeo had to be concealed. Lord and Lady Capulet also influence the tragedy greatly by forcing Juliet to marry Paris that Thursday when she is still grieving over Romeo being banished to Mantua. Lord Capulet declares that he will disown Juliet if she does not wed Paris. This action is the reason that Juliet seeks help from Friar Lawrence. If the Capulets were not so forceful with Juliet, she probably would not have been desperate enough to perform Friar Lawrence s plan. Had she not preformed Friar Lawrence s plan, none of the final deaths would have transpired. Reflecting on these reasons, it is clear how the Capulet family could have been responsible for the ending ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Bandura s Social Learning Theory Some of the things we overlook at times are the things that make the most sense in the world. Something like the social learning theory was overlooked. But it has provided such great insight as to why we do certainly in our lives. Bandura s theory has paved the way to many studies and has open our minds to the possibility that we affect each other in a way we would not imagine. I believe that this theory can shape a lot of people s lives. I agree with Albert Banduras social learning theory by modeling and in this paper, I will present an argument that outlines the reasons why. I like Bandura s social learning theory. The social learning theory states that Behavior...is learned of other people...people who deviate from cultural norms have learned their behavior in the same way. (Schultz Schultz, 2009, p.403 404). This theory can bring a lot of awareness to the families who feel that their action or behaviors won t have any effect on the child. This theory also holds a lot of substance. My cousin who is five years old is cursing and that is because of his father who has no filter especially with the kids. He believes that they are too young and they won t understand what he is telling them but in actuality, my cousin is modeling his behavior. I feel if this theory is well known parents and another role model will understand how much power they have over people. I agree with the social learning theory because I find that it holds some truth to it. we may ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Essay On 911 Dispatch Center The organization that I have selected is the 911 dispatch center that I worked for prior to my retirement (sadly I am not permitted to identify it). The work at the dispatch center entails answering and processing both emergency and non emergency phone lines and dispatching local agencies for both emergent and non emergent calls for service. The features of the BMG that I will be looking at for this paper are the development and assignment of the organization s daily routines and the organization s socialization procedures. In the dispatch center, there are specific protocols that are followed when answering a ringing phone line, regardless whether it is a 911 line or a non emergency line. The first thing a new dispatcher is taught... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In order to confirm that call takers and dispatchers are handling calls appropriately and dispatching units correctly and in a timely fashion, the organization conducts quality assurance checks or QA s. This involves the administration accessing a sampling of calls taken and dispatched by each employee. The calls are then compared to the EMD questions to ensure that they were appropriately followed and that the call was classified correctly. Then the requested response pattern of the responding agency is compared to the units sent to the call. If there is a variation in this response, then the administrator will look in the notes of the call to see the reason for the change. If the reasoning is not clear in the notes, then contact will be made with the dispatcher for additional information. Upon completing the QA, if there are discrepancies or errors then the call is brought to the attention of the supervisor of the call taker/dispatcher. The supervisor then contacts the employee with information as to why the call was incorrect and what the correct choice would be. Then the supervisor would determine whether any further sanctions should be taken. Sanctions include the counseling session, a formal write up in the employee s file, remedial training, suspension, and recommending the employee s termination. In extreme cases, the employee could also face criminal negligence ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Expansion And Sectionalism Throughout American History The expansion and sectionalism throughout American history, the colonial resistance to the proclamation line had been one of unifying factors that had committed many English colonists to revolution and helped spread an emerging nationalism. The exciting textbook American Nation, states that, American independence and control of a wide and rich domain were the most obvious results of the Revolution. The revolution provided access to vast western lands and for many years western expansion would serve as an element that bound the various sections together. Yet, as the decades rolled on and the United Statesadded even more land in its march to the Pacific, expansionism led to sectionalism which resulted in the Union being torn apart. Throughout the American history, we have seen Manifest Destiny at work, and how it has helped grow our nation. The idea of Manifest Destiny helped in creating revolutions that would help them find freedom in the U.S., but it also had some negative effects. Most believe that Manifest Destiny began in the 1840 s, when John L.O Sullivan coined the term Manifest Destiny in 1845, but if we look closer we can see that even all the way back to the first settlers we can see that Manifest Destiny was already at work as in, the Massachusetts Bay Colony. The term is defined and recognized as, the Americans belief that it was their destiny given to them by God, to expand into the Western territories The whole continent was to be theirs. 1 We ... They live in the very state that events like the Montgomery Bus boycott would take place. The fictional town of Maycomb is in Alabama, the same state where Martin Luther King Jr. would rise to be the voice of African Americans aching for equality. The actual movement may have started in 1960 but that is the same year that To Kill a Mockingbirdwas published and huge events were rupturing the south, throughout the novel readers can see the attitude of a want and need for equality in characters and some events. Later, due to the events of the boycott, Martin Luther King Jr. emerged and was the movement s most effective leader (Clayborne Carson). He is known for his nonviolent tactics and his I Have a Dream speech. Martin Luther King Jr. was also a member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) and later became the president of the SCLC in 1957 following the Montgomery Bus Boycott. To Kill a Mockingbird was written and published in 1960, in the midst of the Civil Rights Movement (Carolyn Jones). This time was just a few years after events like the murder of Emmett Till, a fourteen year old boy accused of whistling at a white woman, the Montgomery Bus Boycott, and the ruling in Alabama that segregation on buses is unconstitutional happened (PBS African AmericanWorld). This goes to show that the time period had some effect on Harper Lee at the time. To Kill a Mocking bird takes place in the fictional town of Maycomb deep in the south. This town clings to its ideals, its traditions... People, especially blacks and poor whites are ... expected to remain in their places (Carolyn Jones). The town sticks to what it believes and that is that African Americans, and poor whites, are lower than all the others residing in this tired town. • 11. Children With Aggression During The United States Children with aggression in the united states has played a big part in the world today. It has caused a great number of kids to grow up with bad habits and wrong doings. Growing up young with aggression can turn into a pattern that have been created over a long time period (Lehman1).Its first start off with simple aggressive act, then it leads to bigger problems. Also the aggressionin a child can rub off his or her peers. Which also can lead to a larger group of kids growing up with the wrong set of mind. The youth is the future and knowing that most children are growing up with aggression is a very scary sight of the others. With more children growing up with aggression will cause a higher death rate and the jail count going up. Children shows different types of aggression in many ways mentally, physically, and socially. The aggression can cause children to have an different type of mood swing than others that does not have aggression. It mostly has a after impact of growing up with mental health of 20230 of children from the middle ages from 2 to 17 in USA(Tuner2).All the aggression in the children causes them to have heart attack and blood pressure at a young age. • 12. Types Of The Organisational Structure Of RSPCA Organisational structure of RSPCA The organisational structure that the charity RSPCA has is a flat structure which between management and the worker level employees has few or no levels of management. This type of business structure displays the workers with the higher levels of authority and control on the higher levels. Then the workers with the least control and authority are on the lower levels of the flat organisational structure. The RSPCA using a flat organisational structure has managementlevels of a few or one. Meaning a Chain of Command from top to bottom will be short while the span of control is wide . The span of control means where the managers are responsible for a certain number of workers each at RSPCA. The store I will be focusing on is the Rowley Regis store to explain the flat structure for the RSPCA. The is a diagram of the flat structure below: This image shows the base level to be the workers who have the lowest level of authority and control in the RSPCA. The second level are the managers who have a span of control of seven subordinates between the two managers. The highest level is the director of the RSPCA who has the most control and authority out of everyone else, according to the image of the flat organisational structure. An advantage of the RSPCA being part of a flat structure is that for the managers and workers there is a great communication. This is an advantage because of their only being a few levels of communication for example, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

So many people seem to be worried about what other people are like according to their appearances. People everyday are not getting to do certain things because of some reason that should not define what they should be able to do. If the children want to all go to prom together as a grade that is what they should be able to do, regarding their skin color. While most proms in this area are what a normal prom is the one in this town is not normal . These kids have separate proms one for the white students and one for the black students. While most of the students at the high school are white, the white parents are the ones who wants their kids to have a private prom. The students at this school are friends with all the races at the school and at outside of school events, but theses proms are continuing to be separated, not by the student s choice but by the parents. To me this seems like it is more the parents controlling the prom than the kids one girl said Most of the students do want prom together (Corbett n.pag.).These students do everything else together they feel that it is wrong that they don t go to prom together, but they continue to do it just because this is what the parents organize and want. • 14. Analysis Of Hank Morgan s A Connecticut Yankee A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur s Court tells the story of a Connecticut Yankee, Hank Morgan, being sent back in time to King Arthur s Court, in 528. During the story, Hank learns much about himself and others. From his experiences, the novel as a whole tries to convey the idea that Hank has much to learn from the medieval time period and its people, even though it might not be transparent to him. During the story, Hank believes he is superior to those in King Arthurs Court. He feels that his Yankee can do attitude, capitalist beliefs, technological advances and democratic ideals put him a step above everyone in the medieval time. From his stubbornness to improve a society that does not really need improvement, Hank blinds himself from learning human values that would only be beneficial for himself and the Americans of his time. These positive aspects of life include hospitality, trust, unity, and loyalty. As a result of Hank s efforts to change these people, he eventually destroys their society, further proving the point that his way of life is not the only way to live; as well as showing it is far from the best way to live. To begin with, Hank s human nature and values are essentially based off of his circumstances. His time period is full of new opportunities and possibilities. These opportunities include new jobs, better technology, and new ways of thinking. These give the people a sense of optimism and a desire to want more. From this desire, people want to go ... • 15. Gender Socialisation Gender Socialisation refers to the lifelong social experience by which people develop their human potential and learn culture . (Macionis, 2012) In the society we live in today there is a strong difference between what is considered boy and what is considered girl . This is because from the time we are born, to the time we die we are expected to conform to a gender role. Gender socialisation is the development for boys and girls to be socialised differently. Boys are raised to conform to the male gender role, and girls are raised to conform to the female gender role. Behaviors, attitudes, and personality characteristics are gender roles, which are expected and encouraged of a person based on his or her sex . (Spark Notes, 2017) Today it is essentially believed that most gender differences are attributed to differences in socialisation, rather than genetic and biological factors . (Boundless, 2017). By gender socialisation, the simplest explanation is the process of learning what it means to be a male or female in the society, in which gender stereotypes and bias are usually involved. For example, boys should be tough, brave, strong, sporty, while girls on the other hand are soft, moody, passive, and allowed to cry. And another example girls are expected to be clean and quiet, while boys are messy and loud. Gender socialisation appears very early in childhood, and it is generally regarded as one of the most related issues. (Early Childhood, 2007) Children learn the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

What did you discover about your value orientation that you did not know before? After completing my.blog 3.1, I learned several things. The first thing is that I am individualistic, meaning that I have a tendency to emphasize my individual identity over a group identity. The second was that I am small power distance oriented, meaning I tend to value equal power distributions, equal rights and relations, and equitable rewards and punishments on the basis of performance. Third, I learned that Ii have feminine patterns, meaning that I emphasize flexible sex roles when it comes to behaviors. Finally, I learned that I have a strong uncertainty avoidance, meaning I prefer clear procedures, and conflict, avoidance behaviors. Overall, I think this is basically spot on. I do tend to want equal rights, and rewards/punishments based on performance, and I do really hate conflict. After completing my.blog 3.2, I also learned even more. After adding up my scores, I found that I am a bicultural value person. Neither my individualism score or my collectivism score was much different. This means that in certain situations when my value of self reliance and personal freedom is the focus I may be more individualistic, while when it comes to being sensitive to others needs, I may be more collectivist. After completing my.blog 3.3, I also learned that doing, or action oriented, that when it comes to density I tend to be in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This piece of art is chosen because it portrays an image of a landscape in which a creek of water is running through the meadows. The golden sun seems like taking a bath in the water hedged by green fields where yellow flower buddings can be seen. This painting shows the time of year when trees are saying goodbye to the winter season and are ready for life to return with spring. It seems as if this painting is saying goodbye to the history and introducing the new impressionistic art of 19th century. This painting is a simple landscape but it depicts the basic elements of life that are needed by a human to survive rather than materialistic things. Anyone who sees this painting is absorbed in it as the artist has painted it fresh which shows an optimistic thought when the glance goes from deserted trees to the green meadows and the water creek and finally to the flowers . This picture resembles a strong feeling of the presence of a creator who rescues us from destruction to the spring of life when life is at its peak. The third painting is a bit newer as compared to the previous two, which comes under the realm of the 20th century. • 27. From The Plains And The City From the Plains to the City The depth of a play comes largely from its context and how the piece intertwines with the environment in which it takes place. All tragedies take a direct impact by their setting, which inconspicuously performs a significant role in the compositions. In Tracy Letts August: Osage County, the Weston family must confront their past and present in a claustrophobic house during the scorching heat of summer in the Oklahoman Plains. In Tony Kushner s Angles in America, the AIDS epidemic is rampant and the effects are seen across all spectrums in the American society, while keeping up with the fast pace and intricacies of New York City. Essentially location influences the plays, which steers them thematically and stylistically. Letts slowly builds a dismal atmosphere in the confinement of a household that correlates to the bleakness of the Plains while Kushner creates a melting pot of political, social, and religious criticism in an action packed drama in a bustling city. The prologue of August: Osage County is in charge of setting the somber mood for the play. On the outskirts of the small town of Pawhuska, Oklahoma is where the Weston family reluctantly reunites after the death of its patriarch, Beverly. The house is depicted as more than a century old, showing signs of neglect that make it appear stuck in time. Compare And Contrast Christianity And Islam Worldview Christian and Islam Worldview comparison: As Christians we all have a solid understanding on the history and worldview of our religion however; we need to review how this compares to the worldview of Islam. This is very important if one is potentially going to work in a place where the primary culture is Muslim. In Christianitythe scripture has taught us the our faith was first created from Judaism with our belief of the foundation of JesusChrist his death and resurrection. One main difference is as Christians we know there is just one God however; we know that God is the Father, the son and the holy spirit. The Islamfaith believes that God is just one with Allah, Yahweh and God all being one but believe that Jesus Christ was a prophet but not the son of God (Mohamad, 1997). There is also the difference in the worldview of sin as Christians we believe in the first sin that was created by Adam and Eve. Islam faith views that sins committed by others would not be something that God would punish them for but only sins are impacted by only those who actually commit the sin. In the Qur an the text states No person earns any sin except against himself only, and no bearer of burdens shall bear the burden of another (Qur an 6:164). Patrick Henry s use of logical and emotional appeals to make his audience believe in his cause. His purpose for speaking and his ambitious ideas also helped make his speech stronger. Jonathan Edwards speech was good, but the fear that he instilled in his audience crippled them instead of pushing them to action, like Henry s speech did. Appeals Emotional Appeals Is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery? (Henry) Henry is asking his audience if they would rather live a peaceful life of slavery or a life of freedom on their own terms. This rhetorical question is impactful because Henry s audience is afraid of slavery, they don t like the idea of being controlled by anyone. They know what the lives of their own slaves are like and they fear being put in that position. This makes the audience want to heed Henry s advice and go to war against Great Britain. • 31. Analysis Of The Fiedler Contingency Theory On Leadership Question 1: As a leader, the Fiedler contingency theory could be used to manage employees by placing the most suitable leader with his or her given style for the specific situation. Fiedler believed that leaders were incapable of changing their style of leadership to adapt to the situation. So instead, it is suggested that the situation or rather the leader replaced to match the specific situation. To optimize the favorability of a leadership situation, three components must first be taken into account: leader member relations, task structure and positional power of the leader. The optimal leader member relations have a good relationship between themselves (the leaders) and the followers. A good task structure possesses standard procedures which are in place to complete the tasks. And finally, the strong positional power refers to a leader having authority to evaluate performance and administer rewards or punishments. In contrast, the Hersey and Blanchard s situational theory on leadership relied on leaders were capable of being flexible with their range of skills to adapt their behavior to the maturity of their followers. It is comprised of three components: the amount of task related behaviors a leader displays, the amount of relationship related behaviors a leader displays, and the level of maturity of the followers to perform a specific task. The first and second components are similar to that of the leader member relations and task structure from the Fiedler contingency model. Whereas, the maturity of the employees given the specific tasks can vary depending on the individual follower. Someone with a high maturity indicates self confidence and the ability to perform the task, and low maturity indicates a lack of ability and self confidence. Therefore, leaders should assess each of their employees for their varying levels of self confidence and ability to perform the task. Then they can tailor their response to the individual employee depending on the four levels of maturity that they display: guide, direct, delegate and support. Question 2: As a leader, what form of power would you attempt to use on a consistent basis to manage your employees and why would you choose this form of power? As a leader, I ... • 33. Comparison Of Jim Crow Laws And Mass Incarceration In The... In The New Jim Crow, Michelle Alexander maps out the parallels between the old Jim Crow system and the new racial caste system of mass incarceration. There are many profound similarities between these two systems, such as historical parallels, closing the courthouse doors, and racial segregation. There are many historical parallels between Jim Crow laws and mass incarceration. Both of these systems were made due to a desire among white elites to exploit the resentments, vulnerabilities, and racial bias of poor and working class whites for political or economic gain (Alexander 191). Segregation laws were made to deflect social tensions from whites to blacks. Another example is making laws more discriminative. In the Jim Crow era whites competed by passing harsher laws to keep blacks in prisons. Currently legislators looking to make drug laws harsher to incarcerate more blacks and latinos. The most obvious parallel between the Jim Crow laws and mass incarceration is the legalization of discrimination. During the Jim Crow era blacks were denied the right to vote by poll taxes, literacy tests, and grandfather clauses. The fifteenth amendment states the rights of citizens of the United States to vote should not be denied on the account of race, color or previous condition of servitude (Alexander 192). • 36. The Classic Era And The Classic And Romantic Eras The first public music concerts took place in the early 1700s. Before public concerts became more common, music was mostly performed for monarchs and aristocrats (Burkholder 466). As music became readily available to the public, composers began writing in a style that was easily understood by everyone. The period of musicthat began in 1720 is called the Classic Era. However, as the political landscape of Europe changed, so did music. Conflicts across the continent forced many composers to look for work as freelance artists, instead of writing for royal families (Burkholder 592). Composers began trying to capture the attention of the public by writing pieces with memorable melodies and strong emotions. By 1820, the Classic Era had transformed into the Romantic Era. The Classic and Romantic Eras differ in musical style, the use of musical forms, and the design of musical instruments. One of the main differences between the Classic and Romantic Eras is musical style. In the Classic Era, composers drew inspiration from ancient Greece and Rome. According to Shannon Baker Moore, Similar to the simple, classic lines of an ancient Greek temple, composers wanted music that was balanced, beautiful, and orderly (52). • 38. The Major Causes Of The French Revolution Of 1789-1799 Causes of French Revolution The French revolution of 1789 1799 was one of the major events in the world s history. This revolution bought many changes in France. At the time of revolution, France was the most powerful state in Europe. Over the ten years period between 1789 and 1799 the French revolution was spread. The dispute over the people s differing ideas of reform, was the primary cause of the revolution. After the death of King Louis XIV, his grandson Louis XV got kingship. He was not able for this designation and had no ability to govern the state. France engaged in war with other countries. In result of seven year war she has lost her empire. Financial crisis started in the country. Peasants were not in state to pay heavy taxes they were badly suffered. Louis XV was hooked up in sake of worldly pleasure. He had no interest in governing country. Even he was ready to discuss serious issues with minister. When minister tried to discuss with him Louis XV replied: After me deluge . The box of treasure was almost empty after the wars but the king remained same like before quite indifferent from the suffering of people. He could not take place of Louis XIV. The favoritism and... These costs greatly increased the national debt, which was, at the time, already too high. The system of taxation in France was an absolute unfair and unjust. • 39. A Study On Turner Syndrome Turner syndrome, also known as Monosomy X, is caused by the deletion of the second X chromosome in females. This can be a partial deletion or a complete deletion. It is caused by a random error called nondisjunction, which is the failure of sister chromatids to separate during or after meiosis (Biology Online, 2008). This can lead to an abnormal amount of chromosomes. In this case, it leads to an abnormality in the sex chromosomes leaving the woman with one functioning X chromosome. While the specific genes that cause Turner syndromeare unknown, researchers have identified one gene called SHOX that is important for bone development and growth (National Library of Medicine, 2013). It is believed that a missing SHOX gene is the reason behind the female s short stature and skeletal abnormalities. Due to the random nature of this syndrome, it is usually not inherited or passed down. The loss or mutation of the X chromosome is spontaneous; therefore there is no real pattern of inheritance. Also, it is very unlikely for a woman with Turner syndrome to pass it down to her daughter. Women with Turner syndrome have one functioning X chromosome. If the woman does become pregnant, she will only be able to pass down the functioning X to her child, meaning the daughter will not have Turner syndrome unless she goes through the same random mutation. According to the Turner Syndrome Society (2016), woman with Turner syndrome can experience signs and symptoms such as short stature, a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Estimation of Ascorbic Acid Title: Estimation of Ascorbic acid Aim:To determine the ascorbic acid content of canned apple and orange juice To determine the volume of canned juice necessary to provide 75mg of Vitamin C Introduction: For the estimation of ascorbic acid, the method used involved the titration of the ascorbic acid, in the presence of a redox indicator 2,6 dichlorophenol indophenol (DCPIP) which acts as both an oxidant so as to oxidise the ascorbic acid to dehydroascorbic acid, and it acts as an indicator to determine the end point of the titration. The samples of ascorbic acid used have to be made acidic first by adding metaphosphoric acid to remove proteins and ferric ions which would precipitate. *This diagram was located on the website: ... The indicator used was 2,6 dichlorophenol indophenol which also acts as an oxidising agent to oxidise the ascorbic acid. Since ascorbic acid is a potent reducing agent, it would become oxidised very quickly, so to reduce the chances of missing the end point of the titration, the samples used were diluted with distilled water. Before the samples were titrated they were acidified with glacial acetic acid since they would be heavily diluted. Also 5% metaphosphoric acid was added to prevent the precipitation of proteins and ferric ions which would interfere with the end point of the titration. The results obtained show that it takes 8.5L of canned orange juice and 12.9L of canned apple juice to provide the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Comedy Analysis During this unit, my understanding of humor in literature evolved from believing that it was simply comic relief to grasping that humor is an entertaining method of conveying a universal truth through many different methods. Comedy comes in countless shapes and sizes, which all have different purposes and appeal to a variety of audiences. However, although the forms of humorare diverse, Springboard Activity 4.3 expresses that they can be categorized as either low comedy, which is straightforward and generally easy to follow and understand (1) or high comedy, which can take a bit of reflection to realize the humorous intent (4). Naturally, high and low comedy have different purposes in comedic literature. An author might use high comedy to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To demonstrate, in A Day s Work , an excerpt from The Adventures of Tom Sawyer , Mark Twain reports that while Tom had to whitewash on a beautiful day when he would rather be playing, he ended up conning his friends into doing his work for him while he sat back and enjoyed the so called treasures that they gave to him so they could do his work, including a dead rat and a string to swing it with (44) and a brass door knob (44). Despite having a slight understanding of what irony was before this unit, I had never heard of situational irony before. Situational irony leads readers to believe that the story is going in one direction, then suddenly revealing a twist that makes it humorous. If I were to have read this excerpt before learning about situational irony and its aspects, I would have been thoroughly confused. However, now that I have been introduced to this idea, I can understand and enjoy the often comical product of situational irony. All of the patients in the hospital are immune to laughter because they are victims of the combine. The central conflict in the novel revolves around the power struggle between Nurse Ratched and McMurphy. McMurphy has no qualms; he is careless and crude. The percent composition of copper in copper (I) sulfate was 40.58% and in copper (II) sulfate it was 25.46%. Later, I calculated that the percent of copper in the lab was 26.13%. At the beginning of the story he says he could have stood his lot better if she [his mother] had been an old hag who drank and screamed at him (5) yet later talks about how there was no reason for her to think she could always depend on him (14). While he feels that she raised him well, he does not want her to feel that he will be there for her like she seems to have been there for him. Asbury makes it very clear that he feels his mother was the unnerving force that lead to the demise of his life. Upon his death, he wanted his mother to read a letter her wrote to her about what she had done to him (91) but thought, that his mother would not understand the letter at once... he thought she would be able to see that he forgave her for all that she had done to him (91). This statement, like Julian s is not truly supported in any way. It appears in both stories that the boys mothers did everything they possible could to give their children the best of life. It states that if routine is provided for difficult or disorganizing activities, children will develop calmer and more cooperative behaviors during those activities (Olson, 2010). When researching for an article that either supported or refuted the postulate, Family Centered Intervention for Young Children at risk for Language and BehaviorProblems was found. The study was initiated by dividing forty one randomly selected children, ages 3 5 years, with potential language and behavioral difficulties into a control group or intervention group receiving adult support (Chao, Bryan, Burstein, Ergul, 2006). The purpose was to explore the impact parent involvement and routines have on the development of socially acceptable behavior and language in children (Chao et al., 2006). Parents were asked to rate various aspects of their child, such as motor skills and behavior, then decide activities in the ChildBehavior and Language Assessment (CBLA) to focus on and review intermittently in a log to help conclude if the intervention was beneficial or not (Chao et al., 2006). The intervention was based on the reviews and opinions of the parents and occasional professional observation.
