How do you know if the words you are investing in are worth it?
How to write persuasively while also communicating the proposition of a product or service and furthering the perception of the brand’s identity is a unique challenge. Online advertisers in particular are faced with marketing channels that impose distinct rules on the length of copy, the use of particular terms and other regulations depending on the location in question. We have developed an approach we call 'Performance Linguistics' that finds the balance between marketing performance, comprehension to a native speaker and maintenance of brand guidelines.

Presented at Pubcon SFIMA on February 25, 2016 in the session "Mining the Keyword Goldmine," alongside data guru Bill Hunt, this slide deck covers the process of rethinking your approach to SEO, content creation, keyword research and tapping into the conversations going on around your site's core keywords. This deck was presented by seoClarity's Chief SEO Evangelist, Keith Goode.
Miranda Gahrmann presented on the Digital Marketing Summit in Dubai about International SEO and beyond. When targeting multiple languages and countries, international SEO plays an important factor to make sure the right website is served in each targeted country. Also, it's important to be aware of cultural differences and differences in language to provide a good user experience across regions.
My slides from the recent Colchester Digital virtual Meetup where I discussed sentiment analysis, how it can be used for SEO, PR, reputation management and more and how you can perform it yourself for free using Google Sheets.
Eric Vanbuskirk - SEMrush for Topic Gap Analysissemrush_webinars
One of the fastest growing areas of SEO and content strategy is comprehensive, holistic topic coverage for blogs and websites. Google’s Hummingbird filter has changed how content is ranked. Keywords don’t matter anymore. It's all about semantic search. Leveraging semantic associations throughout your site can boost your rankings (a lot!)
Problems occur when website and blog content become too broad and diverge from overarching themes. There are very few products outside enterprise software which can help users to find topic gaps and avoid this so-called "topic creep."
Data analyst extraordinaire, Eric Van Buskirk demonstrates how to do topic research for your blogs and websites by using several tools within the SEMrush interface.
You’re a global org but you have to have a local feel in every region. What works in APAC doesn’t work in EMEA. You’ve got different device habits, languages, search engines, and customs to think about — this session about international SEO will show you how to give that friendly neighborhood feel on a global scale.

7 Ways To Boost Your Traffic With SEO And Content MarketingHappy Marketer
Whether you’re an individual establishing your personal brand online or an e-commerce company, the key to your online success is attracting web traffic to your site. Learn how to attract quality leads with these killer SEO and Content Marketing tips!
Measuring Web Content Readability & Consistency - with VisibleThread Clarity ...Clarity Grader
Is your web content clear and consistent? Scan 1000s of pages of your web content in minutes and review any clarity and consistency issues.
We highlight hard to understand web copy, benchmark your web site against industry peers, and promote transparent web communications while eliminating hours of manual effort.
Customizable "control dictionaries" replace the highly manual process used today by marketing teams:
Education Institutions can check that course names are consistently represented, and college / university brand names are correct. Off brand dictionaries include unapproved or old course names.
Financial Institutions verify consistent representation of currency rates across their own & affiliate sites. Dictionaries in this context include search terms like"$", "£" etc.
Digital Agencies support client brand engagements and drive new client business. They build clarity league tables for sector competitors.
Measuring web content readability and consistency for universitiesVisibleThread
Clear & consistent web content is critical for universities where student acquisition and retention are big drivers. Poor content reflects badly on your institution, and puts a cognitive burden on students trying to complete tasks online. It can even lead to lost business.
For example; prospective international students conducting online research may churn to another college based on complex content on your ‘student admission’ pages. Content that is often overly legalese and lifted from hard copy brochures. When you have thousands of pages, spread across multiple domains, measuring this complex stuff is really hard.
We presented this deck as part of the TerminalFour’s user conference in Boston & Dublin, Nov 2013. If you’re on a university marketing team and need to identify & fix poor content that impacts site experience, you’ll find this useful.
We show an example case study from the University of the Arts London. They identified complex content on highly trafficked parts of the site using VisibleThread Clarity Grader. They also used ‘dictionary scans’ to pick up outdated & inconsistent brand references in the web copy. Something that normally would take days to do.
SEO at scale can be challenging and these are the tips for how to become successful both internally and externally. Presented in a webinar for Deep Crawl on 5/29/2019

zkStudyClub - Reef: Fast Succinct Non-Interactive Zero-Knowledge Regex ProofsAlex Pruden
This paper presents Reef, a system for generating publicly verifiable succinct non-interactive zero-knowledge proofs that a committed document matches or does not match a regular expression. We describe applications such as proving the strength of passwords, the provenance of email despite redactions, the validity of oblivious DNS queries, and the existence of mutations in DNA. Reef supports the Perl Compatible Regular Expression syntax, including wildcards, alternation, ranges, capture groups, Kleene star, negations, and lookarounds. Reef introduces a new type of automata, Skipping Alternating Finite Automata (SAFA), that skips irrelevant parts of a document when producing proofs without undermining soundness, and instantiates SAFA with a lookup argument. Our experimental evaluation confirms that Reef can generate proofs for documents with 32M characters; the proofs are small and cheap to verify (under a second).

Observability Concepts EVERY Developer Should Know -- DeveloperWeek Europe.pdfPaige Cruz
Monitoring and observability aren’t traditionally found in software curriculums and many of us cobble this knowledge together from whatever vendor or ecosystem we were first introduced to and whatever is a part of your current company’s observability stack.
While the dev and ops silo continues to crumble….many organizations still relegate monitoring & observability as the purview of ops, infra and SRE teams. This is a mistake - achieving a highly observable system requires collaboration up and down the stack.
I, a former op, would like to extend an invitation to all application developers to join the observability party will share these foundational concepts to build on:
Removing Uninteresting Bytes in Software FuzzingAftab Hussain
Imagine a world where software fuzzing, the process of mutating bytes in test seeds to uncover hidden and erroneous program behaviors, becomes faster and more effective. A lot depends on the initial seeds, which can significantly dictate the trajectory of a fuzzing campaign, particularly in terms of how long it takes to uncover interesting behaviour in your code. We introduce DIAR, a technique designed to speedup fuzzing campaigns by pinpointing and eliminating those uninteresting bytes in the seeds. Picture this: instead of wasting valuable resources on meaningless mutations in large, bloated seeds, DIAR removes the unnecessary bytes, streamlining the entire process.
In this work, we equipped AFL, a popular fuzzer, with DIAR and examined two critical Linux libraries -- Libxml's xmllint, a tool for parsing xml documents, and Binutil's readelf, an essential debugging and security analysis command-line tool used to display detailed information about ELF (Executable and Linkable Format). Our preliminary results show that AFL+DIAR does not only discover new paths more quickly but also achieves higher coverage overall. This work thus showcases how starting with lean and optimized seeds can lead to faster, more comprehensive fuzzing campaigns -- and DIAR helps you find such seeds.
