SMS Uniserver
Designed for corporate businesses, SMS Uniserver product is
unique to the South African market. While there are competitors
in the “on-site server” market, the architecture and billing
methodologies are cumbersome, whereas Vox Telecom’s service
offers unbeatable value and powerful functionality. SMS
Uniserver uses a server-based product (Uniserver.Live) that is
installed on your premises and allows an unlimited number of
users to connect to it simultaneously. It also allows unlimited
connections to other computers using various interfaces (e.g.
email, FTP, web services, etc.) and users connect using a browser-
based web interface.
SMS Online
A pure internet-based product that allows you to log in using
a standard browser and use the SMS facilities as required. An
unlimited number of users per company may log on - there is
a monthly fee per logon name (email address and password).
SMS Online is a suitable alternative that allows most general
functionality for the average small business or individual.
SMS Shortcode
Get a shortcode (5 digits) to you for inbound campaigns. Typically
this would be used in conjunction with a call centre or help desk
and operates as follows:
• Vox Telecom issues you a short code
• You publish this short code to your customers (users)
• A user sends an SMS to this short code
• Vox Telecom’s Shortcode server sends an optional auto-
response to the user
• Vox Telecom’s Shortcode server sends an email to your
call centre or help desk, with the cellphone number of
the user
• Your call centre or help desk opens the email and calls
the user back again
• You carry the cost of the call, which is particularly
valuable in mass market applications where users are
cautious about spending money on external calls
SMS Gateway
Hosted within Vox Telecom’s core network, SMS Gateway enables
you to connect to the SMS server via the internet or dedicated
data links. The server may have binds to the networks or it may
have modems for SMS delivery. Vox Telecom connects your
computer system directly to the networks via our gateway using a
variety of integration methods (Webservices, FTP, SMPP, etc.). Up
to 48,000 SMSs per hour can be delivered in this way.
SMS M2S
A “Mail to SMS” product that enables you to send and receive
SMSs via email, without having to install any software at their
premises. This application is extremely effective when utilised
for automated mail to SMS messages where a computer simply
sends an email formatted like an SMS and then processes the
replies when they come back.
SMS Bureau
SMS Bureau is designed for broadcasting or bulk sending of large
numbers of SMSs. You can distribute SMSs to a large numbers of
recipients in a short time, and you don’t require any infrastructure
of your own. You submit your lists to the Bureau via email, in
either Microsoft Excel or CSV (Comma Separated Variable) file
formats and Vox Telecom’s SMS Uniserver product distributes
via several servers across South Africa. SMS Bureau is also ideal
for DR (Disaster Recovery) situations where, if an on-site SMS
Uniserver server fails, then the files can be routed to Vox Telecom
for Bureau processing. Vox Telecom assigns a “validity “period to
the numbers in the broadcast, so that if the message has not been
delivered by this time, it expires and will not be delivered. This
enables Vox Telecom to compile an end-of-broadcast report and
email it back to you the next day.
BULK SMS
Building an SMS campaign has never been easier. Create mobile
campaigns in 3 easy steps and personalise SMSs using subscriber
information. Type in your text, choose subscribers and just click
send. Bulk SMS enables you to target specific demographics and
send to a select group of mobile subscribers to create personal
relevant communications that promise better engagement.
Available as a pay-as-you-go solution, Bulk SMS enables you to
pre-purchase credits and use them whenever you want. They also
never expire, giving you the freedom to purchase large quantities
up front or simply pay-as-you-go with no monthly commitment.
