This document provides an overview of key economic concepts including:
1. Economics studies how to maximize a country's wealth given limited resources. It examines concepts like marginal benefit and cost.
2. Production possibilities curves illustrate the tradeoffs between different goods that can be produced. Economic growth comes from increasing resources and technology.
3. Different economic systems (capitalism, communism, socialism) have varying roles of government in production and pricing. Countries with freer markets tend to have higher standards of living.
4. Most countries have mixed economies with substantial private sector activity and significant government spending and regulation.
Health economics is concerned with applying economic theory and methods of analysis to the production and consumption of health and health care. It involves studying how scarce resources are allocated among alternative uses for health care and improving health. Key aspects of health economics include efficiency in resource allocation, the health care market, demand and supply of health care, equity in health outcomes and care, and health sector budgeting and planning. Economic evaluation techniques used in health economics include cost-benefit analysis, cost-effectiveness analysis, cost-utility analysis, and cost-minimization analysis to compare costs and consequences of alternative health interventions or programs.
1. The document discusses the challenges of innovation in public services, including conceptual, research, and policy challenges.
2. It notes that public services face funding crises, new challenges, and calls for modernization, while also facing obstacles to innovation like risk aversion and resistance to change.
3. Research on innovation in public services is underdeveloped and faces challenges in defining units of analysis and dealing with large, complex systems. There is a need for more systematic study of innovation processes and impacts in public services.
As managing ESG and sustainability issues have become mainstream business practice, there is no doubt in the minds of corporate leaders that ESG/sustainability issues should be a top priority agenda in boardrooms. However, it is still challenging to integrate ESG/sustainability considerations fully into business practices due to the difference between short-term financial goals and longer-term ESG/sustainability performance. Thus, top executives usually give weight to the shorter-term financial metrics when trade-offs between financial and ESG/sustainability performance come into focus. How can companies achieve short-term profits and ESG/sustainability goals at the same time?

The document provides an overview of sustainability reporting and the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards. It discusses the goal of sustainability reporting being to disclose an organization's significant impacts and strategy. It also outlines why organizations report sustainability information, such as for reputation management. The document then details the key aspects of the GRI Standards, including the universal standards on principles, strategy, and profile disclosures. It describes the topic-specific standards covering economic, environmental, and social impacts. The document provides guidance on applying the management approach and materiality concept within the GRI Standards.

Chapter 1: Context of Health Care Financial ManagementNada G.Youssef
This document discusses key topics in health care financial management including lowering costs, goals of the health care system, and changing methods of financing and delivery. It outlines reforms under the Affordable Care Act to expand access through insurance marketplaces and Medicaid expansion while controlling costs through value-based purchasing. It also covers trends like the rise of the uninsured and accountable care organizations, as well as factors affecting the cost of care and impacts to provider reimbursement models.
The document discusses improving public service delivery in India. It outlines several key points:
1) Public services are those provided by the government to citizens, either directly or by financing private services. The government has an important role in ensuring basic services and standards of living.
2) Both public and private sectors deliver services, but they differ in their relationships with customers. Public services sometimes have less competition and more indirect customer relationships.
3) Models like SEVOTTAM and ETVX have been proposed to standardize, monitor and improve public services by defining standards, roles and accountability. However, implementation has remained a challenge.
4) Technology and transparency can help make services more equal and accountable
This document discusses cost-benefit analysis and cost-effectiveness analysis as methods to evaluate programs by comparing costs and benefits. It explains that CBA monetizes both costs and benefits, while CEA only monetizes costs and expresses benefits in non-monetary units. The document also discusses undertaking these analyses from different perspectives - social, government, and individual - and notes strengths like evaluating net worth but weaknesses like attribution and monetizing all impacts.
This presentation focuses on applied economics. Emphasis is on knowledge and understanding for the following:
1. Economics as a social science
2. Economics as a study of wealth
3. Economics as a study of making choices
4. Economics as a study of allocation
5. Factors of production
6. Scarcity
7. Choice and decision making
8. Branches of economics
Improving revenue generation capabilities of LGUs PAMphaltra
This document discusses several issues related to local government revenues and expenditures in the Philippines. It notes that LGU revenue growth has lagged behind population and inflation growth for the past decade. LGUs remain highly dependent on internal revenue allotments. Local revenue sources are negatively impacted by election cycles. There are also delays in updating property values and institutional deficiencies that hinder revenue collection. The document proposes several reforms to address these issues.
The document provides an introduction to health economics. It defines economics and explains that health economics deals specifically with how limited healthcare resources are used to meet unlimited healthcare wants and needs. It also discusses the demand for healthcare, noting that demand depends on both the demand for health as well as perceptions of how healthcare impacts health. The document also outlines some of the key requirements of healthcare systems, including being economical, effective, efficient, and equitable. Finally, it briefly discusses the concepts of demand and supply in healthcare markets.
Health economics can contribute to primary care in three key ways:
1. It provides a framework to help primary care establish objectives and make choices about how to allocate scarce resources in the most efficient way to maximize health outcomes.
2. It helps primary care acknowledge that needs will always outpace available resources and make decisions about priority needs.
3. It offers tools like cost-benefit analysis, cost-effectiveness analysis, and cost-utility analysis to help primary care rationally decide how to distribute limited funds and achieve the best health outcomes at the lowest cost.
The document discusses the need for theories to simplify the complex public policymaking process. It explains that theories develop presuppositions to help analyze and classify information. A good theory is scientific, subject to empirical testing, explains phenomena, and addresses important factors. The document then summarizes several influential theoretical frameworks for analyzing the policy process, including the punctuated-equilibrium framework, advocacy coalition framework, and policy diffusion framework. These theories examine factors like periods of change, interactions between advocacy coalitions, and variation in policy adoption across jurisdictions.

• minimizzare costi e impatti ambientali

(elettrico, H2, ecc.).
