• The purpose of this training and manual is to provide you with the ability to:
• Open Smart Assessor
• Open Learner records
• Plan for visits or “Sessions” with Learners
• Attach Learner evidence to criteria
• Set Actions for the Learners
• Provide feedback on achievement
• By following the steps laid out here you will be following a standardised
approach to using Smart Assessor with Pathway Group and importantly it will
allow Pathway to offer you support
• As you develop competence in using the system you will be able use other
features available in Smart Assessor not covered in this manual and training

• Evidence may be captured using various methods to provide an
holistic approach to demonstrating a learners competence: Direct
Observation, Witness Testimony, Reflective Account, etc.
• With e-portfolio’s evidence may be captured electronically through
audio, photographic, scanned or video formats as well as word type
documents.
• In order to be able to determine what kind of file has been attached
as either evidence or as a record of an assessment activity all files
that are saved to Smart Assessor will have a standard format for how
they are named
