More college students own smartphones and other connected devices than ever before. The explosion of always-on, always-connected wireless devices is straining campus wireless networks from coast to coast. Boingo's carrier-neutral cellular distributed antenna system (DAS) and Wi-Fi network solutions help higher education institutions satisfy growing demand for mobile bandwidth and connectivity.

Tech Talk by Peng Li: Open Mobile Networks with NFVnvirters
Synopsis
Applications are moving to mobile. This talk is about upcoming future of the mobile networks, key technology enabler and how to build your application and service on top of next generation mobile networks. Peng will describe the mobile network trend and why openness will play a critical role going forward. He will also present example of the NFV enabled mobile network architecture, its building blocks and use cases, and introduce Huawei's Open Mobile Foundry platform as a real world example to share some of our valuable experiences in this field with all. This talk will cover both flavors of open source projects (OPNFV, OpenStack, ONOS and ODL) as well as commercial products (Huawei's cloudEdge solution).
About Peng Li
Peng Li is a Network Architect and Ecosystem Partnership Manager for Huawei's wireless BU. He has extensive experience on SDN, NFV, network architecture and network protocols. He has spent all his professional career so far on computer networking, mainly with Amber/Nokia networks and Foundry/Brocade before joining Huawei. He co-implemented the industry first full redundancy BGP protocol, and had many years of experience in network protocol development and engineering management for flagship data center routers. Peng has Master's in Computer Engineering from USC, and Bachelor's in EE from Tsinghua University, China.
5G: a revolution or an evolution for IoT by Merouane DEBBAH, HuaweiEuroIoTa
Targeted for 2020, 5G will take the eco-system to a whole new level. New applications, new business models and even new industries will spring up around 5G. With 5G, we can expect our high speed connections to extend into our vehicles, into our things, with fewer interruptions and new ways of working or remote working starting to take off. If we look at some of the goals of 5G versus where we are today, we can see the gap that has to be bridged over the next few years. The goal of 1ms latency is nearly 50x better than current LTE systems. In order to go from 100Mbps per user to 10Gbps, we need 100x the throughput per connection. The current 10,000 connections per square kilometer needs to increase to 1Million connections which is a 100x increase in density. Reliable communications today with LTE top can sustain 350km/h and we expect to bring that up by 1.5x to 500km/h . Finally the current core networks and backhaul/front-haul are inflexible with wasted pools of bandwidth. The introduction of SDN/NFV will allow much better ability to chop up and virtualize the network resources for lower operational costs and capital costs and much greater flexibility. In this talk, we will briefly describe the candidate 5G technologies and provide a look at the actual worldwide standardization process.
The road to 5G from 4G/LTE via LTE-Advanced Pro systems, moving towards borderless mass market broadband, ensuring the best user experience, deploying capacity for mobile video, enabling new use cases/markets including connected vehicles, IoT, VR, enabling the industrial Internet. Fusion Cloud Data Centers: a new high tech frontierfestival ICT 2016

f you offer a service on the web, odds are that someone will abuse it. Be it an API, a SaaS, a PaaS, or even a static website, someone somewhere will try to figure out a way to use it to their own needs. In this talk we'll compare measures that are effective against static attackers and how to battle a dynamic attacker who adapts to your counter-measures.

We think digital service is the next gold mine for mobile operator. The traditional mobile solution is not welcomed to the the vertical market, but the situation is changing. With the upgrading of IT system, nearly half of enterprise decision makers need MBB as the primary factor of future development. That is why we think digital service can help mobile operator to entry enterprise market the new blue sea for new revenue point.
