2. Habitat Sloths can be found in the tropical rain forests of Central and South America. They spend almost of their life in the trees of the Rain Forest.
3. Diet Sloths are plant eaters. They often eat at night. They eat leaves, tender young shoots, and fruits. Sloths have small molars which they use to chew up their food. They have a slow metabolic rate and low body temperature (91 degrees).
4. Anatomy Sloths have brown and greenish fur coats. They are roughly the same size as a cat (61 cm long). They have a short flat head, short snout, long legs, tiny ears, and big eyes. Their claws are very long, used for hanging on the trees.
5. Reproduction Adult females give birth to a single baby each year. They give birth upside down in the trees.
