In this lesson we will review
the use of much and many.
Along with this we will also
review about count and
noncount nouns.
3. Ss will be able to use much and many correctly.
Ss will be able to identify with which nouns to use
much or many.
Ss will have a clearer idea of the terms of count
and noncount nouns.
Ss will practice the use of this grammar point.
Objective
4. Definition:
Much and many mean:
• A large quantity of something.
Examples:
There are many apples at my house.
We don’t have much coffee.
5. When to use many?
We use many for countable nouns. (Ex. apples, shirts,
restaurants, houses, dogs, bones, etc.)
Example:
There are many restaurants around my house.
There are 10 restaurants around my house.
Interrogative:
• How many restaurants are there?
- There are 10 restaurants.
6. When to use much?
We use much for noncountable nouns. (Ex. coffee,
bread, rice, water, juice, jam, etc.)
Example:
I have not gotten much money.
Much time was spent studying for the exam
Interrogative:
• How much money do you have?
- I have a few money.
• How much water is there?
- There is a lot of water.
