Simple Present
• Simple Present is used to express the idea that
an action is repeated or usual. The action can
be a habit, a hobby and a daily event.
• Examples
• I play football
• I eat pizza
• I run in the park
Simple Past
• Simple Past is used to express the idea that an
action started and finished at a specific time in
the past.
• Examples
• I saw tv yesterday
• Did you wash the car?
• Last year I didn’t celebrate my birthday.
Simple Future
• Simple Future has two different forms in
English: "will" and "be going to. Is used to
refer a specific time in the future.
• Examples
• He is going to spend his vacation in Hawaii.
• I will call you tomorrow.
• I won’t do that.
Present Continuous
• Use the Present Continuous with normal verbs to
express the idea that something is happening now, at
this very moment. It can also be used to show that
something is not happening now.
• Examples
• I am doing my homework.
• Are you reading a book?
• What are you doing?
Continuous Past
• Past Continuous is used to indicate that a
longer action in the past was interrupted.
• Examples
• I was eating when I called her
• What were you doing when I go home?
• You weren’t eating when she called.
Continuous Future
• Future Continuous has two different forms:
"will be doing " and "be going to be doing.“
• Examples
• You will be waiting for her when her plane
arrives tonight.
• You are going to be waiting for her when her
plane arrives tonight.
