RAR memiliki antena yang lebih panjang sehingga memiliki resolusi spasial yang lebih baik, sedangkan SAR menggunakan antena pendek dengan memanfaatkan gerakan pesawat sehingga berfungsi seperti antena panjang. 1. Pemancar membangkitkan pulsa radar dg
band ttt
2. Pulsa diarahkan ke objek ttt oleh antena
3. Pancaran pulsa membentuk berkas spt
kipas dg arah tegak lurus thd jalur terbang
7. Cara Kerja RAR (2) ::
4. Pulsa berbalik ke sensor dan diteruskan ke
penerima.
5. Penerima mengubah pulsa radar balik menjadi
sinyal video (elektrik)
6. Antena berfungsi ganda shg prlu diatur oleh TR
(Transmite-Receive) switch (duplexer). Proses
pergantian fungsi 1000-2000 x/detik.
8. 1. daerah diterangi oleh antena sangat sempit
2. sinyal yang dipancarkan pada waktu yang
diberikan oleh sensor menyentuh tanah hanya
dalam garis sempit ini dan tercermin darinya
3. karena gerak pesawat terbang daerah diterangi
digeser ke arah azimuth

2. Cara mengatasi: dibuat antena pendek yg
berfungsi sbg antena panjang
3. Detektor tdk hanya gambar , ttp ditambah HDDT
(High density digital tape) kmd diproses &
direkam pd CCT

4. Pada detektor film, sinyal echo masuk ke CRT
kemudian diteruskan ke perekam film
5. Tiap garis pd hasil citra mencerminkan rona bagi
kekuatan sinyal balik
6. Film dimajukan dg kecepatan Vf yg sebanding
dg kecepatan pesawat terbang Va.
