sketches.
This is a selection of possible costumes. The first costume takes
inspiration from Chicago and the “Cell Block Tango”, the
outfit is sexy and provocative and fits in with the
voyeuristic view of women within pop video . The outfit
includes a mesh body and fishnet tights.

The second outfit is the outfit my dancer will wear when out
of her “fantasy”. The outfit takes inspiration from Flashdance
and includes legwarmers and a baggy oversized grey sweatshirt.

The final outfit takes inspiration from Black Swan and the
cover art for 50 Shades of Grey. The outfit includes a
masquerade mask and either a feather belt, as its more
practical to dance in or a black tutu.

I also have ideas for a final costume, which will include white
make-up and follows a sci-fi theme, with the dancer dressed
in a white leotard.
This is an example of the type of costume I want the artist to
wear as the video cross cuts between shots of the dancer and the
artist. I want the video to have a vintage theme while being
dramatic and appealing to modern audiences.

This costume includes a short sequin dress, which is more
available to me compared to the ideal longer version. Make up
will include Red Lips and a Vintage Up Do.

The artist will also be holding a short vintage novelty
microphone.

For scenes involving the artists, mise-en-scene will include
white balloons filled with LED Torches to create the
effect of light bulbs. Originally I wanted to use light bulbs but
had no idea how to light them. The balloons will also be filled
with „flour‟, so as the video reaches it climax, the dancer
begins to pop them to create a dusty smoky image.
This is an image I want to
use in my music video as
an intertextual
reference to the film
“FlashDance” however
instead of water I will use flour
as it’ll make less
             mess
and will be easier to
clean up.
This is the location I will use to do all of my
filming as it can act as multiple locations
                                    including a performance space and
dance studio. I will also take advantage of the
professional lighting to create similar lights used in
the image above, from Flashdance, but also
                                    from the film Chicago.
